Two in, Three out next week.
Unfortunately one of the three is not the manager.1 user thanked author for this post.
February 11, 2024 at 7:24 am #280855If I was Pugh, I’d be wanting to go to Hereford on a permanent.
Shrimpton to Gainsborough?
In: peer pressure will see them ‘fall in’ to the ways of the rest of the squad.

I hinted about the embargo days ago with this thread.

February 12, 2024 at 2:12 pm #280939Another obstacle overcome and a huge step in the right direction off the field.
Signing a couple of players to me though is unfortunately papering over the cracks; this is Jimmy’s squad and x4 times more expensive than our rivals. We should be doing better regardless.

February 12, 2024 at 2:32 pm #280941The question is, what areas need strengthening?
From what I saw on Saturday, I’d say Ogle needs a rest, and someone to play on the left-hand side would be helpful. And maybe someone else to add competition up front?

February 12, 2024 at 2:47 pm #280942From what I’ve seen recently some physicality and legs in the middle of the pitch is what we need most. We’re weak in the tackle and get cut through time and again, if you don’t control the middle of the pitch then you can’t control the game.

We’ve surely got enough options there? Shrimpton & Pugh not getting a look in, Beestin in & out the team, feels like there are people there who can freshen things up in the middle.
February 12, 2024 at 3:49 pm #280947We need a proper forward who wants to graft, barge and batter his way through these physical defences Mr Whitehall seems reluctant to do, it’s horses for courses, we need the right forward for the division we are currently in.

Those that know, KNOW.But was it just a lucky guess? The names of the 2 in and 3 out would confirm your credibility though.
February 12, 2024 at 4:40 pm #280950I suspect it wasn’t a lucky guess myself… ;-)
February 12, 2024 at 4:56 pm #280951Your dislike of Whitehall speaks volumes Ironawe, which goalscorer are you looking at he’s second best in our league guess you want someone to drop down a league or 2, and there was me thinking we couldn’t afford to buy a decent striker, not as though any other club has thought of doing that everyone else is happy with theres so should be quite easy to find one. And Elliot by the way?
February 12, 2024 at 5:24 pm #280953Whitehall needs to improve his attitude. Need a nippy little poacher in there too.

But don’t you get p***** off with posters boasting that they’re “in the know” and looking down on us peasants?
Even worse perhaps is the posting of a cryptic titbit, another of the “I know more than you” tactics.
Oh BTW I know the name of one of the new signings but I’m not allowed to tell anybody, I promised.February 12, 2024 at 5:32 pm #280955Striker and a hard man midfielder, bit lightweight in there. Defensively ok I think.

Oh BTW I know the name of one of the new signings but I’m not allowed to tell anybody, I promised.I can assure you it wasn’t a lucky guess, the same as outing Hilton for what he was from the time he arrived in Scunthorpe wasn’t a lucky guess.
February 12, 2024 at 6:33 pm #280960Don’t know who we will sign but reading between the lines who will leave?. Whoever comes in we have to balance the books with outgoings.
February 12, 2024 at 6:39 pm #280961Personally, I’d accept any bids which might still be on the table for Elliott. Much as he has his moments, it’s clear that he & Whitehall aren’t dovetailing as a partnership and trying something different might not be a bad thing.
February 12, 2024 at 6:40 pm #280962But your a proven liar Snot wouldn’t believe anything you say.

I agree with that. However, tactical genius Benny Bentley on the Facebook page has this insight….
‘Clearly has a massive impact on the team … lost one with him. [Clunan]
No one can argue it or they can whilst looking clueless.
Football is about keeping the ball, he does that. Since when is passing sideways a bad thing? Were just to our teams lumping it forward and bypassing the midfield’.
I posted that because it made me laugh. A lot.
February 12, 2024 at 8:46 pm #280966Benny Bentley was one of the main bully boys during Hilton’s tenure, he appears to be as clueless on football as he was on football finance.
February 12, 2024 at 8:49 pm #280967Two in have to be a striker and a more creative wide player to cover the loss of Roberts and Smith. In a more ideal world we could do with a CM player too.
I wonder who the 3 are moving on, I just hope it isn’t Pugh after the form he’s showed at Hereford.
Rance to be paid up
Shrimpton out
Beestin out on loan to get game timeMerely speculating with those suggestions.

Much to do with my amusement
February 13, 2024 at 12:18 am #280969Ah yes, mr benny boy( I love you miss dianne, professional weather forecaster, ex football manager, ex player, I’m always right, not allowed to criticise my tactics) Bentley, what a tosser!
February 13, 2024 at 2:23 pm #280995In like Flynn.
February 13, 2024 at 3:19 pm #280996Beestin has to go out on loan surely ?.
Nowhere even near match fit !
We need a striker now.
February 13, 2024 at 4:21 pm #281000His replacement won’t be either. 6 games in 5 seasons (Wiki) doesn’t scream experience or match fitness. BUT he has plenty to prove so should at least be trying hard. Good luck young fella.

“On 15 September 2023, Clarke was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for dangerous driving after injuring three people in a car crash in Thorney, Cambridgeshire in April 2022”
He’s not for me
February 13, 2024 at 5:11 pm #281003Recently out of nick for a serious drink driving offence. Served his time, fine, hope he flourishes now and puts that chapter of his life to bed. But why on earth are some supporters up in arms that people are bringing it up? It’s common knowledge and was reported on in the press so it’s going to come out soon anyway? But oh no, Alex gets hassled on X about raising it and Drury on the Cult page gets Jerry on his case asking why he’s brought it up. Small minded jokers.
