I don’t agree, give them a chance, I went on Saturday and we looked pretty good, at least they looked interested and nobody was sulking, and Davis looked good and certainly not past it.

Having watched The Iron in recent seasons – it really is going to be hard for many fans to have any belief that there might be improvement but when you are as bad as we were last year, it is extremely hard to expect that anything could be quite that awful again.

Well. Us septuagenarians need to keep sharp, Alcy. Been out for my daily 1.5 mile walk – that’s the maximum I can do as am struggling with plantar fasciitis.
Hope to be back to customary 2 miles+ very soon.
Cut one quarter of my HUGE hedge before breakfast, this morning. Gasp, gasp.
Keep stores of old Fifteen-to-ones and University challenge to keep the grey cell occupied and busy.

Spend most of the rest of the day doing precious little. Ah. The joys of retirement. Off to Spain soon. Want to add swimming to my daily exercise.

Used to watch Countdown everyday les to keep the grey matter ticking along but have abandoned it since the odious Anne Robinson took over from Nick Hewer, I gave her a fortnight but no thanks she has ruined it for me. Her barbed remarks to contestants and constant rabbiting on about rubbish in general and her me me me attitude has fecked it up IMO might as well let alcy take over if it’s a moaning rabbiting mini me you want in charge. Terrible.

Agreed great show, plus I’d settle for VCM over the ginger haired Scouse witch any day.

Alex Perry now signed on a two-year deal (again I don’t understand this as I thought the transfer embargo restricted us to giving one-year deals).

Squad’s starting to take a much better shape, just need that striker who knows where the back of the net is and a winger to ensure Hippolyte is nowhere near the starting 11!

Quote from Cox “he knows it won’t be easy getting into the team as we have a good squad coming together now”.

These new signings need to be good enough to go straight into the team or we are stuffed again.

Don’t think he’s going to come out and say “our current lot are crap, so he’ll walk straight into the starting 11.” But I agree, we should only be signing better than what we’ve already got.

Dire need of a good loan striker and winger now to add further competition. I hope Billson picks up.

The comments which we’re made regarding how good he was will result in him improving surely. Put it this way, they better do !

Striker – oh, yes. But a winger?
Green looks two notches better than the player who was adequate in a poor side last year; Bunn looks really good; Cameron Wilson is completely underawed by playing against League One & Championship defenders.
We have Hippo for emergencies and Thompson can also play left side.
