We can’t be favourites surely? Everything I’ve read posted by 414 laughs in the face of that folly!

If i was to put a 100 quid bet on for champions it would go on Chester.

    Chester

    Brackley
    Kiddy

    Buxton
    Radcliffe

This time last year the odds on us winning the league were 5/2. Bookies offering triple that return this year. Obviously seeing it the same as many of us, a tougher league with a weaker squad. Sorry to disappoint Deerey, keep your head in that sand kidda!

Yet they are not seeing us as certain mid-table fodder like the ‘realists’.

‘Obviously seeing it the same as many of us,’

‘Many of us’. The much fabled 99.9% per chance?

not sure how its a tougher league – small clubs coming up and teams coming down on a downward spiral. Weaker squad lets see them play first. I would suggest better mangers and Asst. Better feel at the club. i remain optimistic :-)

Hard to get an idea on the feeling amongst fans as it’s flat on here and it’s the Stuart Maw show over the road.

Chester will win out, Darlington as outsider who comes from nowhere.

We’ll sneak into the play offs.

I refer the right honourable members of Bru to my earlier post below as to my prediction come next April… one change .. remove Scarboro replace with Darlo (agree with CMC)

L2 .. Cods to get relegated

If i was to put a 100 quid bet on for champions it would go on Chester.

    Chester

    Brackley
    Kiddy

    Buxton
    Radcliffe
    Scarboro X …….. Darlo
    Scunny

Odds checker still have us at 15/2 with Chester now favourites to win the league at 7/1. Brackley odds at 12/1 seem generous.

Great start to the season for Scunny and a few others… long may the 3 points keep coming however it plays out.

Reading the prediction thread on the SUFC Fans FB page and as ever most predicting an Iron win ..some emphatic others closer, i went for a draw (again).

Im not sure but i do get the impression SOME fans are either

    1. swayed by the claret n blue glasses
    2. generally over optimistic when predicting every game
3 assume rightly or wrongly we are better than we are
4 forget there are at least REALISTICALLY half the teams in this nasty league who could win the title ala Tamworth of which we are one.. im guessing the likes of Rushall Petboro sports etc are at best mid table along with others.
    5 are on meds
    6. forgot to take their meds
7 taking too much emphasis and optimism from the first 3 rather hot n cold performances
    8. blindly loyal
9 absolutely correct in their judgement
10 hoping to get lucky as at NM (soft pen and hanging on)

Hoping to see Charlton Saturday and twill be very interesting to see how the team line up next 2 fixtures.

Lets revisit the odds after 10 games im guessing there will be 5 or 6 clubs within a the 7/1 , 4/1 , 7/2 range.

Swayed perhaps by statistically our best start in my lifetime and I’m old.

First 3 wins from 3 since the 1940’s and the first 3 clean sheets from 3 since early 50’s. Bound to feck it up Saturday then!

    My impression 3 games in

    1. We are fitter than last season
    2. We are better organised
    3. We look dangerous from long throws into the box
    4. The manager appears to have a plan B and C
    5. The manager is prepared to use all 5 subs in pursuit of 4

This gives me reason for optimism for a top 4 finish!

Revised odds: realised what a sad shallow pitiful sham of an existence my life is and stepped in my own dog’s excrement this morning – mid table at best playing the most unattractive football ever witnessed in any league, ever.

Thats the spirit DM66 5555 … obviously anti optibuzz is catching, or giving it its proper name realism.

‘My’ Buxton are at Peterborough Sports this afternoon.
One of four teams looking to make it 4/4.

    Nice wager Rene
Before a ball was kicked i had Buxton down as one of my surprise packages this year as well as Scarboro .. fancy both to be there or there abouts come the end of the season.

    They all blobbed today.
Scunny & S’boro the only undefeated teams now.

After clearing the first four fences in this Grand National, the bookies have come up with the probables, the possibles and the no-hopers.

    Hereford are also still unbeaten.

My money is on Kidderminster. They look good value. Can’t see Chester challenging. Scarborough only have a very small squad (they only fielded 4 subs yesterday even though you’re now allowed to make 5 substitutions) and they already have two players out injured, so they’ll probably run out of steam like they did in the second half of last season. I wouldn’t rule Chorley out of a play-off spot. They have a strong squad.
