Lol, If I had a quid for every time someone ought to have apologised to me on here, I’d be dining out tonight. Do I give a toss I’ve rarely received one? Do I heck.

with greatest of respect to you if we see the new shirts or any of the new players donning them on first week in august i will be surprised, we are gone ,

    Based on what?

Well, well, well Ellis, why are you so interested in anybody’s opinion on here?
I thought you’d made it plain on your Facebook thread that you have no time for either this forum, the owner and moderators or indeed the members of the forum.
Then why do you put yourself through the obvious trauma of reading and posting on here?
You even have your own thread in “non football”, perhaps you’d post your explanation in there.

Will I be receiving an apology?

No apology required or will be offered.
It was simply a case of pressing “quote” on the wrong post.
A senior moment plus it was early in the morning, perhaps too early.
As for the forum member it was intended for, I see he’s now on the fans Facebook page almost daring the forum owner to ban him, if it were me, I would oblige him.

nobody will get banned for saying something on Facebook here.it appears that the ugly racist bloke from Brighton is trying to put me into the arguments about Hilton when I’ve not really said much in order to get his frustrations about what he perceives as my politics, which he overstated but hey ho. I think it’s best that if you don’t like anything said on facebook you ignore it an vice versa. He got himself noticed whish is probably what he wanted so I think we should leave it at that

This is why I don’t feel that I can remain on this forum anymore. It’s feckin depressing.

It’s probably for the best because quite clearly you are having problems transitioning from Facebook to IronBru. If you do decide to return at a later date your user-experience will improve considerably if you use both hands when typing, it’s not like Facebook.

And a note to Richgy and TW, as Grimsby and Hull fans, respectively, and any rival supporters; you are always welcome to post on here and chat. We’re not all neanderthals who wish you weren’t around. I’m sure you know that anyway but in case you saw the Facebook thread referred to.

‘He got himself noticed which is probably what he wanted’. Perhaps, and hoping he might get banned to play the martyr. Anyway, apologies for the numerous posts about this, particularly for those who don’t view Facebook, but rights to reply were justified I think.

    No apology required

I usually apologise if I make a mistake, maybe that’s the difference between me and the likes of you? It’s a thing called manners, a word sadly lost to civilisation long ago.

    FFS.
I clicked on the quote button on the wrong post.
    Nobody died.
    No fluffy animals were harmed.
I’m sorry, ok, does that make you feel better?
You can stop crying now, go give mummy a hug, it’ll all feel better later, I promise.
    What a fuss about nothing!

Even though not residing in the UK im getting quite exited and more so unusually optimistic for the up n coming NLN season… hopefully find time for a trip back during the season and take in as many games as possible.

So getting back to football talk and despite all the off the field issues putting them aside and assuming all the squad newbies and retained are all fit n ready how to fans/ IB members see the team lining up ..theres been so many new signings not easy for my old memory to remember all their positions.

I think most fans would agree the signings have all been excellent and the squad at last has some depth n quality with players that actually want to be at the club, with the likes of Ogle Elliot Chappo plus the youngsters creating real competition for places any thoughts on JDs regular starting 11 subs n captains arm band ???

Nah! What most people do is sorry, clicked on the wrong post and that would be the end of it, not try make the person you wrongly accused look like the person in the wrong. Hey, ho, as I said were different people and probably a different generation and have different standards.

    Back to shirt numbers.
Last night I spent most of the game – the first time I’ve seen the lads this summer – trying desperately to identify who was who. I was constantly going online trying to pick out faces. A real pain in the buttocks.
What numbers were Kelly and Scales, anyone? – I know I rated the number 15.

ive got the newbies face recognition via the training pics on the SUFC website ..but not a clue on squad /shirt numbers .. who has been the captain in the friendlies so far ??

In NLN shirt /squad numbers are optional so it may be a case no fixed numbers allocated to players thus probably making it difficult for the live commentary without numbers.

We’ve gone and kept two consecutive clean sheets.

We’ve gone and thumped Gainsborough 6-0

It’s going, going, gone quite well at the moment.

I’m afraid IFA is correct. Squad numbers and names are not mandatory in NLN.

So it could be back to the 70s. But you could always tell your Keegan from your Cassidy, and your Heath from your Deere!

reading what David Hilton said the other day we are having names on shirts and also at the moment the shorts and socks haven’t arrived yet and they match the shirts, second strip arriving this week and I think they might be playing in them Saturday

Purely in my mind so could well be flawed but going by the new signings squad numbers are these in more in JD plans as his starting 11 as others or will we see constant rotation.. a settled first 11 must be the better option.

Fitz Number 1 first choice keeper ??
    Kelly taken number 3
    Evans 4
    Kouogan 5
    Clunan 7
    Roberts 10

    Elliot over Whitehall ????

Chuck in Wilson , Ogle and its a dam tasty side with plenty of cover.

Now whose gonna be the regular club captain .. im going for Evans

Based on seeing 3 of the friendlies I would say:
    Fitz – definitely No 1
Ogle – probably right back but will have to play well to keep Barrows out
    Kelly – left back
Kouogan and either Evans or Boyce CBs
Clunan – only definite midfield starter for me so far and captain. So many to choose from here.
Front 3 Roberts, Whitehall and Wilson

    1-49 in a 26 man squad? 🤔

Obviously i was not meaning there were 49 players rather the squad numbers were from 1 to a highest number of 49… why they are not 1 to 26 needs to be clarified by a more qualified party than myself.
