RAIL WORKERS ON £30,000 A YEAR. TRAIN DRVERS ON £55,000 A YEAR AND 10% OF DRIVERS ON £75,000 A YEAR. AND THEY WANT TO STRIKE FOR MORE. THE UNIONS SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. CAUSING HARDSHIP FOR THE COUNTRY. WHO’S NEXT ?. MORE AND MORE PEOPLE
ARE FINDING ALTERNATIVE WAYS OF TRANSPORT.
WILL THEY FEEL SORRY FOR THEMSELVES WHEN
REDUNDANCIES TAKE PLACE DUE TO LACK OF PASSENGERS.THEY WILL PROBABLY BLAME EVERYONE

Coldplay one day, travelling with AWG the next, proof that some people really do have the patience of a saint. 😜

If you had to choose one it would be close. 2 hours listening to Coldplay or 3 hours listening to Awaywego.

Awaywego just wins it for me.

I heard that Coldplay had changed to Sunday because of the industrial action. That makes it difficult for you.

Sorry to rain on your parade but your wrong, it’s next Friday’s gig that as been moved because of a tube strike, the government must bring in more laws to bring these bully boys under control, let them strike but make their industry all do it on the same day or day’s.

Wouldn’t be half as effective – when companies are making massive profits, the cost of living is rising and wages aren’t increasing to match, good on them striking.

We have a lot to thank industrial action for – if the private sector paid what people are worth and took a bit less themselves, there wouldn’t be a need to strike.

Grant Shapes recieves £84,144 basic salary in May of this year he received a payrise of £2,212. He also received £71,673 as minister of state in the cabinet. A whopping £155,817.

Average train driver salaries £24,000-£60,000 depending on experience.

If you take away the right to protest (strike in this case) the gap will widen between the well paid few and a better paid many.

The French manage to protest extremely well and retire at 62 the Macron government tried to raise this to 64 amidst much national protest, theirs remains 62. Ours went up from 65 to 66 and soon to be 67 without even the bat of an eyelid.

MP pensions are based on final salary and paid at 65. Mr Shapps has a personal fortune of £1.2 million and has his own private jet.

If anybody thinks Mr Shapps gives a flying f### about train travellers or train driver salaries they are much mistaken and to curb the right to protest about anything is detrimental the democratic process, which is being slowly eroded anyway.

That’s why the fuel bill for the 400 mile round trip to Maidenhead from Scunthorpe will cost circa £70. Diesel/petrol prices at the forecourt are being artificially held up in line with other energy costs.

Maybe we should worry more about 9:1% inflation on everything, fuel bills of over £3000 per annum. The £200 rise in NI contributions per person since April 1st this year then 100,000 Train drivers getting 7% still below the current rate of inflation.

Might I also suggest that the payrise be paid for out of the additional 4.5 billion for Crossrail up from 14.5 billion to 18.5 billion.

In December 2020 the Government agreed £825 million finance deal with Tfl, the then transport secretary was a one Grant Shapps.

Who by the way is a complete tosser, I would be very disappointed if Ernie is not a Tory, the similarities are too numerous to mention.

And next we will have the teachers going on strike, are they striking now? No silly me they and the kids are on a 6 wk break, they will wait till they go back to strike so to inconvenience the public, probably not MPs as most send their kids to public schools but heho guess that’ll be more babysitting for us, many families don’t even have that luxury f em. Yet another sector that weren’t furloughed no short pay for them just like the rail workers. Maybe Shapps and like should go on strike let’s face it they could earn far more in the private sector.

This started as a thread claiming Swann being shafted by the council which has somehow morphed into the a rather boring drab thread about the train/rail system.

As said above, keep this kind of stuff off this part of the forum.

THIS IS FOR FOOTBALL, NOT LABOUR, NOT CONSERVATIVES OR THE LACK OF A RELIABLE RAIL SYSTEM.

    Get a grip.

One or two posts fair enough but hijacking a thread and morphing it into a political debate centring around the rail system is a piss take.

    It’s a bit much.

    Dear Wondergoals

Awaywego does this with every thread he is either an extremely intellectual “agent provocateur” or a right thick C###!

I read his diatribe regularly as in every thread he partakes in, but in respecting freedom of speech we/I accept his right to post. Every so often he over steps the mark which deserves a factual, homework researched, in-depth, response to correct the balance.

For the record you post as an informed, this is as it is, take it or leave it real authority on all things Scunthorpe United FC. You even have the ability to canvass and form opinion on who we should sign or even become the next manager etc, etc. Often these suggested appointments suddenly occur!!!!!!!!!!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm my mind is tickled!

You are given the same freedom and benefit as Awaywego, whom I believe to be the latter by the way.

I hope you can read the lines and between them. xx
