We have held season tickets for many years but this is the first time we are unsure as to purchase. Why is the cheaper deadline so early in April. It has always been by the end of May previously and is not considering supporters finances particularly in this present climate. The signing over of our stadium and land is yet to be completed we are told by Hilton on the 24th May. If this were not to happen we could be left with season tickets invalid and no refunds due to paying by cash. We do not have prices neither for the payments after the April deadline. This is not helping supporters who are willing to put money into our Club for the season and support week in week out and who like to sit in seats which they have for many seasons.

April 16, 2023 at 10:29 am #260062The early bird prices for season tickets expire this Friday and then the website says it will be a new pricing structure after that expiry date. This is the first time the whole new pricing structure hasn’t been put out to supporters. Previously season ticket prices have been mailed out to existing season ticket holders and put on the club website so we are able to compare early bird prices with the increases and make a decision regarding affordability and when to purchase. Consideration is not being given to supporters by having the early bird prices expiring in April as previously it has always been by the end of May, and no new prices available. If Hilton wants to upset loyal supporters he is certainly going the right way about it.
April 16, 2023 at 10:32 am #260063I also want to add that I and many supporters are very uncomfortable about having to pay by cash. At least if you pay by credit card and our Club folds and the season ticket is wasted you can claim your money back.

Cant disagree with any of that post .. i wouldnt be parting with any cash for a season ticket until after the GP ownership issue is resolved ..by which time the price has increased .. seems unfair.

April 16, 2023 at 11:52 am #260070Yes totally agree ironfromafar, it’s very unfair. If Hilton wants to upset fans he is certainly going the right way about things. It must be his decision as he said in his statement he hadn’t wanted to sell season tickets. Another very bad decision in my view, and he doesn’t seem to mind upsetting fans.
April 16, 2023 at 12:25 pm #260072It is not Hilton’s choice to not take credit cards. It has been forced on the club and several other clubs and is well documented.
Anyone holding off purchasing until the legal confirmation of the ownership change are making a personal choice to disbelieve Hilton’s word. No problem with that but perhaps moaning about your decision having some minor financial consequences hardly seems fair to me.

April 16, 2023 at 1:10 pm #260075Please don’t buy one this year NLI do us all a favour, Hilton doesn’t want you to have a season ticket and he didn’t want to offer them early but was persuaded to do so, he wants to get as much money in as possible the more late season tickets and casuals he gets the better for the club, You have mentioned “first time” “previously” if you hadn’t noticed a new man is in charge and you of all people wanted rid of Swann didn’t you expect or want changes? Supporters willing to put money in the club will buy a season ticket not really for the club but for the massive saving they make, any way off you pop and get yours you know you will.Did think you was going to support a phoenix club has that fell thru?

With regard to your last point .. insider .. no photos it didnt happen so we will be expecting a nice crisp clean clear image of a freshly debugged shaven zit free rear end, not something lacking general hygiene and resembling the surface of the moon …plan ahead and prepare such is my confidence DH will rock up with the wonga.
April 16, 2023 at 2:16 pm #260082will see who is right on may 24
but let me tell you this … it will be meApril 16, 2023 at 3:15 pm #260083Replying to Awaywego. Yes we did want change and rid of Swann but until after May 24th we don’t know if we will be. I have said many many times we wanted Simon Elliott and Ian Sharpe to take over as did many other supporters, two men who genuinely love SUFC. We like many other supporters believed DH had purchased our Club, land and assets, but this is not yet so. So I am reserving my judgment yet as are many others as to his motives for purchasing our Club name. We shall know after 24th May hopefully. People like choice and to know future plans. Of course season ticket holders are putting money into our Club and comitting to watching The Iron for the full season. Not every fan can afford to purchase a season ticket and those who do are entitled to know the saving they are making by purchasing before the current season ends. You are wrong in your assumption that fans only purchase a season ticket to save money as some fans wish to keep the same seat in the stands, it also saves going to the ticket office for every match and gives preference to cup tickets, that is when we used to stay in any of the cup ties past the first round.

but let me tell you this … it will be meThat may be the the preferred option for patrons and passersby of Costa Coffee .. however im fully expecting you to have to release the cheeks come the first home game on next season.
The clock is ticking
April 16, 2023 at 4:49 pm #260091Some people still don’t get it, our football club has to change or die, simple as, the more money the new owner can get in to help turn us round the better. I’ve been watching the Iron since 1964 and I was a season ticket holder up until lockdown but I have chosen to pay every home game individually since then. Does it cost me more, yes, do I care, no, do I miss the odd home game because I choose to do other things ( the odd weekend away etc ) yes, does that make me any less a loyal fan then a season ticket holder,no. In short I will still end up paying more to watch the Iron then a season ticket holder and that’s fine by me.
Look if you want to pay up front before May then fine do it, if you choose not to, fine do that but STF up moaning and whinging about FA, it’s completely pathetic the way some of you go on about crap.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 16, 2023 at 5:46 pm #260095Elliott and Sharp couldn’t come up with the money NLI, Man utd fans want Jim Radcliffe to buy man u but more than likely will get out bid by arabs it’s the way it goes, Elliot and Sharp had their 15mins of fame being owners where are they now?Elliot’s Marshall’s business not even shirt sponsors next season maybe they’ll sponsor the academy, the savings on the season ticket prices have been put up again on the Owp today why do need to know the advanced prices they definitely won’t be cheaper. Hilton owns the football club all Swanny has got is a tin shed of a ground even then Swanny was allowing Hilton to close most of it during the week, where’s all your questions about that, would you allow that to happen if you were the ground owner? Of course you wouldn’t your sceptical about everything.
