At this stage, is that good bad or average? Not seen any emotional blackmail from UTI99 recently so guessing it might be about average?

Will must have some talent lined up based on people supporting the request that better season ticket sales will yield better players.

I’m frankly astonished that many people are buying them at this stage with so much uncertainty about the club and given all the rubbish that has been served up in recent seasons.

So 1000+ fans have shown their support, is it time the club showed that was merited by way of signings?

Very very surprised at the amount sold to be honest. Things are still far from certain for the football club right now. However hats off and fair play to everyone who has bought a season ticket so far. Hopefully the club can be sold soon, resulting in the current 1,000 figure of sales, becoming 2,000+ holders and that we can go into the season with some kind of hope.

Great news, will go along way to increasing Hills playing budget.

I got my ticket 5 minutes before I posted the opening post, and it had been on the Scunthorpe Twitter site it was over 1000, I asked Sarah and she looked and said I was no 1019 and they had sold 250 since yesterday morning, so it should have a few more now.

Absolutely amazed by that number. Thought they would be lucky to get 500. Should be a nice juicy player budget now then….

End of the day they are very reasonably priced. Can’t wait for the moaning for the disparity in prices for those who don’t buy one. Hey ho.

We Need to invest in the team now and get some real interest going.

A good amount of season tickets sold so far and you’d imagine a few gates of 4000 to 5000 when you think of the visits Wrexham, notts, chesterfield, York, Oldham and possibly Grimsby.

As some have said… 2/3/4 good additions will only add to the interest.

There are 6 teams in the National League that get more people to their games than we got in League 1. Oldham are likely to be a seventh and possibly York an eighth with better budgets than we will have should the National League go with the salary cap as predicted.

1,000 season tickets probably means just above the 2,000 attendance mark if we do OK on the pitch. That is lower mid table in terms of National League attendances this past season so lets not get too excited about our playing budget for next season. Of course if you know who fecked off then the positive bounce might result in our 3,000 – 3,500 (ex) regulars turning up again.

Neil Ardly claims Solihull’s budget is a mid table one so maybe we can hold some hope of a good season after all…. Just need to get the recruiting right…. Unfortunately we’re not good at that!!

    No excuses now!

We’ll get nowhere with only 1,000 fans, even though it’s a start, we need to find a way of growing that number much higher, you won’t do that by charging £20+ for casual fans. Hopefully the one-the-day prices will be much more reasonable this season and will reflect our new lower position in the pyramid.

It’s a great start to season ticket sales, the real test will be how many are sold at the higher rates. Fairly obvious that there’s at least a thousand hard-core who will jump at the chance of a discount like that. I mean, if you’re committed to going it makes total sense to invest to save now with even more higher living costs due. See what happens next. If sales continue at a healthy rate then that’s fantastic.

Why don’t some of you find another hobby that gives you more enjoyment. I don’t think Football is for you.

Oh, to be able to watch some Football.

I think you will find that about 1 in every 3 Scunthorpe fans did exactly that last season, not ideal when you want to have a successful club.

They can’t want it that bad if they think the best answer is to desert them.

I offered some constructive thoughts on sales with a positive ending and that’s your response? Ah well.

Ahhh so its ok for your hero to desert the team and stop attending games but not for the poor sods that have to pay to watch shite football in a shite, filthy stadium? Great logic!

    Have a day off pal.
