Have we not yet healed the rift between The Iron and ST. Never any coverage of matches, news of transfers or other activity. Is there still a problem or are they just too busy to cover little old NLN?
August 19, 2024 at 1:55 pm #289674Who gives a shite about Scunthorpe Telegraph ?. All the telegraph used to do was print old interviews which you could read several days before from other sources.
I suspect they’ll still want money out of us to report for us and we won’t pay it, which is quite right as I wouldn’t either.

August 19, 2024 at 2:51 pm #289680I thought the rift was between Swanny and the telegraph not the club and the telegraph.

Erm, I’m pretty sure it was the other way around.
August 19, 2024 at 3:28 pm #289682I thought the Telegraph only covered Grimsby Town since they moved there
August 19, 2024 at 3:42 pm #289683Who cares?
The website must be absolutely the worst online user experience ever. It seems to have been designed purely to grind your gears.

I suggest you go and take a look at other fan forums, this is light in comparison.

I was, in a thread about the Telegraph, talking about the Telegraph.

As a publication it is not what it was. Ask Chris Sumpter or Paul Crute.

August 20, 2024 at 6:23 pm #289765Picked one up the other day(Didn’t buy)a full page advert on the front and a united story on the back. about twice the number of pages of the old Evening Telegraph.
And all for £2.70.
August 21, 2024 at 8:26 pm #289875I stopped reading the Telegraph when the legendary Tom Taylor retired. Similar to the great Charles Ekberg (Grimsby Town reporter ) ,they reported matches with “rose tinted glasses”. I always felt full of optimism after reading the report even if we’d lost! Great reporters.

Went downhill when people stopped paying for their news, same as the rest of the industry sadly. These days people don’t buy papers and don’t want to pay for new websites, so it’s not surprising that the quality drops. What is unforgiveable is the way the last government cut BBC funding forcing them to slash BBC local radio, something which is really important for communities & democracy. These days there is very little Humberside-specific reporting which is combined with a big drop in the number of journalists working in the region.

August 22, 2024 at 12:13 pm #289905I think losing it from the era when it was still good with decent hacks is a sad loss. It is what it is though.

Im fortunate to be old enough to fondly remember the days before the internet and all it has inflicted on us and also the days where there were only two birth genders, way less whinging and generally folks got on with each other.

The Lincolnite Website has folded and Gi News will probably follow, people won’t pay for websites but will pay a couple of quid for a quality paper, which the Telegraph isn’t.
August 23, 2024 at 9:14 am #289938Never see anybody reading a paper nowadays.
Every white van I see still has a copy of The Sun on the dashboard!

You say that but all evidence points to the fact that they won’t.
