Watched the Scotland game from 2-0 just like watching us, fans turn up and the team fails to turn up big time.
Reminded me of 2500 of us turning up at Notts county and the team putting on one of the most abject performances I’ve seen from them, then onto York 4 days later picking up just a point. Not to mention the Tamworth and Boston games last season and many many more from previous seasons.
And Scotland have been no different to us chance to rebuild them hopes for the next game, famous words it’s the hope that kills you.

I’ve seen more England games that are like the Iron of recent years tbh. Scotland were worse than that last night.

Yep admire the Scots fans for their passion and exuberance but in truth their team were simply outclassed, Germany looked a good side but better sides then Scotland will prove a much sterner test, their defence is suspect at times.

Did anyone expect anything other than a German win?

    Yes, I was expecting a 0-0.

However, Germany were better than expected & Scotland were awful.

PS I’m from North of the border!!

If they lose the next one I expect a statement from Michelle and Simon Elliot

The Scots never had good ‘keepers.

Not ‘never’. Alan Rough and David Harvey were good. The latter was FIFA keeper of 74 too.

True, Harvey was ok. But I always thought ‘Rough’ was a description.

..last time I saw David Harvey play live was when we thrashed Leeds United 4-2 at the Old Show Ground in the F A Cup replay.

Didn’t realise he was playing in that. Past his sell by date by then. Leeds were rubbish in that era

Typical Southgate performance. France, Germany, Spain etc control games. We sit back an invite pressure and play hoofball with ages taken to make a change.

One attempt second half just not good enough and I think only 3 all game.
A potential Man utd manager! Give me a break.

Biggest dillema for me is Trent in midfield didn’t work, but the alternatives aren’t inspiring either. Gallagher for Trent was the right move but can he truly excel as a solid partner for Rice from the off? Don’t think so. That said, the dropping off yet again, was the biggest mistake

Good performances from Bellingham and Rice, hope he plays Cole next game and leaves TAA in his proper place, on the bench. Come on England.

What was the matter with those commentators in the first 45? As England ponced around, passing backwards, not winning corners, only got one proper cross into the box, no defence splitting passes – and looking like a JD team on a particularly bad day – they were purring with delight.
I marvelled at what rubbish was making them so gushing and effusive.
Of course, when Serbia bothered to turn up in the second 45 – the deficiencies which most Scunny fans would recognise instantly – became the order of the day.
I asked Mrs Lesgeo to judge the game on points as a boxing judge might – and she gave Serbia the nod.

I’ve seen a lot of ‘a win’s a win’ guff. Deluded dreamers ignoring the many negative aspects of the performance from an embarrassment of riches. Reminds me of a lot of the pro-Dean guff Iron fans came out with, wanging on about still being second in the table while ignoring the performance. When people start saying ‘Shearer’s right’ you know there’s something wrong.

I don’t watch much football and a high level and must say that Harry Kane never makes me think a centerback would be glad to see the back of him. He may score goals but if he doesn’t help the team out the team won’t win trophies in my opinion .The ball just comes straight back even if he stays up like Shearer advocated he just doesn’t make like hard

Shearer was purring over Trent’s performance, so I take what he says with a pinch of salt. Not Trent’s fault, he was out of position and struggled with an unfamiliar role, but it wasn’t something to rave over. He was one of the weak links. Like Kane and Foden.

Was wanting to see this Foden character after comments on here, what a disappointment that was.
It really was like watching Scunthorpe last season Kane just a poor Whitehall if you don’t feed the the ball to them they look shite.

Very like Whitehall in that he seems to fall over very easily. TBF he only got one decent pass all game and he cleared a goalbound effort that Pickford might or might not have saved.
