Just watched the Scarborough equivalent of garth blog (so much better by the way imo) couldn’t believe how much water came up after the ball touched the ground is that normal for a plastic pitch? Didn’t realize it was that bad at the game itself.
Fair play to the lad he could have edited out him going and filming the second half from the home end and then having to return to the side cause all the play was going in the opposite direction, honestly nice to see how much the win meant to them.
    Butlers summer signings Cass?

What I find concerning is, that of all Butler’s summer signings, only one has established himself as a regular starter. (As I’ve said elsewhere, if he didn’t have a long throw it could be none of them) That must call the recruitment questionable at best, effectively we are expecting a first time manager to turn last seasons non-promotion winners into a promotion winning team. Is that realistic or do we need to find and sign two or three guaranteed starters to give us the boost we (possibly) need?

    Spot on Cassidy.
Our recruitment has been subpar for a long time now. If my memory serves we haven’t unearthed any gems in the last decade, when was the last time we sold a player for a decent transfer fee? Think our ‘recruitment department’ could use a long overdue shake up.

Always being my belief that the signings have been Turnbulls bar Carlton’s, and the shake up should be giving him his p45.

Didn’t notice the water issue. Apparently their artificial pitch is getting replaced at the end of this season. It certainly looks like it needs it, although it didn’t play as badly as it looked.

Thought you’d be back once the meltdown fuse was lit by a loss 414. Losing one game on a wet horrible plastic pitch, with our best player – Whitehall – missing, against Scarborough who are actually a good team in this league, is not a disaster. As for the signings we’re only 9 league games in so I’m not going to judge whether the perfect first 11 and formation is known yet.
I think Butler will get us promoted, probably with a couple more players coming in along the way and maybe one or two of the current players getting loaned out as well.
Until then I’m going to keep my head down and enjoy the actual games. See you in May 2025. Up the Iron !
ps, I agree awaywego, that Seadogs YouTube guy is really good.

Strange about our results this season, Marine, Kidderminster and Needham Market excepted, we have beaten Brackley, South Shields and Curzan Ashton away after 3 defeats last season, drew at home with Chorley and Warrington who we beat last season, and lost at Scarborough who we drew with last season away

Highlights. I think this confirms that Whitley didn’t actually carry the ball out of the box. Anyway, all academic now.
