The break has given us time to calm down and think.
Talking to a lot of fans, regulars and casuals no-one is happy with the football we are currently playing.
A lot blame Mr Butler and his record at Donny Belles and as interim manager of the Rovers 1st team was less than impressive.
A lot more are starting to question Schofield and his past track record for negative football at Rovers and Lincoln.
The board remain silent and we do not know if anything has been said to AB and JS. As supporters first and foremost they surely cannot be any different to the rest of us in their thoughts.
They then have a dilemma of wanting to back their initial choice for replacing JD which probably needed to happen and going for stability in AB. Which we as supporters understood and agreed with.
A good start of back to back wins and clean sheets papered over what was probably a niggle at the time. Curzon away was the defining game, under the cosh for most of that match and camped in own half for the entire latter 45 mins started to raise concerning thoughts.
That game did two things rattled our players confidence and gave Curzon momentum and confidence to push on.
Our management then panicked and started to analyse too deeply, setting up to counter the opposition rather than let the opposition worry about us.
As with JD teams, AB teams are okay when ahead but crumble under pressure and don’t like to be run at.
This break should be a good thing with us all taking stock and trying to change the disharmony between manager and supporters.
I was hoping for a change which would have provided a new man the opportunity of two clear weeks to work with the players and build confidence.
The board have sent out a clear message that they both back and support AB and JS.
So what next and when is it time?
AB is clearly uncomfortable with the negative response from the fans, his demeanor and words during interviews make him look like a ‘rabbit caught in headlights’. He too is struggling and the board must take that into consideration.
How long before Santa’s sack become full?

December 7, 2024 at 10:09 am #295247Well the club aren’t making any effort to address the disharmony between the manager and the fans, how would you go about it.
What next. Maybe start questioning the decisions of the board.
December 7, 2024 at 5:20 pm #295263Be careful, 414,ironking and awaywego and remember to wear a crash helmet .We wouldn’t want you crashing into each other while you surf your Jizz tsunami when Butler gets the sack.
December 7, 2024 at 5:23 pm #295264The club is rapidly disappearing off the radar l. Shame.
December 7, 2024 at 5:27 pm #295265Trying to be reasonable and calm down regarding our situation 64. Down to 4th and didn’t even flinch.
Loosing sleep though and it’s a worry! Can’t see light at the end of the tunnel or any solution either way.
Consoled today by no back five and no loss.

December 8, 2024 at 10:08 am #295292That’s a good post IK.
See what happens next two games a win at Marine might get a few more in for the pre Christmas game with Hereford.
And the EFL transfer window opens next month so some desperate L2 club might take some of our wasters.
December 8, 2024 at 10:09 am #295293Blimey. You really are down on your luck IFA. I’m sure we all hope our fortunes on the pitch improve soon and your new job isn’t as messy as it sounds.
December 8, 2024 at 12:38 pm #295295Great advice: my Christmas gift to the manager.
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results” (Allegedly this was Einstein.)
I do know someone used this recently on here but it bears repeating.
I honestly reckon that we have a decent enough team to, at least, challenge for playoffs.Back to repetition:
ANDY – as an admirer of your footballing skills – I may be on your side but I am even more on the side of Iron success.
I can help. Honestly. As your managerial career faces oblivion – if not today then at some pretty close future point – swallow your pride now and make the changes which, deep down inside, you know HAVE to be taken imminently.
Do this and you may very well keep your job for the best part of two years – and so will your sidekick.December 8, 2024 at 4:18 pm #295302In a Humberside interview after AB got an extended contract the reporter asked the “What if things do not work out” I am sure Michelle said that there were clauses were things could change.
I do believe action would be taken if the situation shows serious decline before it is too late.
December 8, 2024 at 5:24 pm #295303Loads of teams sniffing around our only player with a footballing brain as in Callum Roberts!
December 8, 2024 at 7:21 pm #295305Would you rather we drew 0-0 or lost 3-4? Spurs fans will no doubt be debating this tonight.
Big Ange is getting stick this evening after his boys let a 2-0 lead evaporate into a 3-4 defeat. “Too stubborn to change things” being one observation.
Butler has been criticised for stubbornly sticking with his uber-defensive lineups but is being completely gung-ho like Postecoglou worse?
I’ve always been in the camp of “if you can’t win, don’t lose” but putting the emphasis on attack rather than defence will win you the odd game.
Tricky one that even the top bosses struggle with at times.
