Definitely NOT same old same old. Much the better side, could have been a bigger win than 3 – 2. But it’s three points against a team trying for the play offs.

Few sniggers from us before we attempted it. Huge part of our game that’s been missing so good to see Dean capitalising on it

Bunker, Butterfield and Beestin were excellent, I thought they reckoned Richards-Everton was crap, any of those four could have been MOM

10 minute jitters – then a good solid performance.

If we can be the first to slay the dragon on their home turf on Tuesday – then we’ll go on to stay up.

Can’t pass and can’t tackle. (fairly) Mainly ineffective if he gets booked early.

Pugh’s tackling is a bit iffy at times and he goes to ground far too often and dives in when he should stay on his feet but to be fair to him, if he bursts forward with the same energy as well as digging in and breaking up play as he did against Dagenham, he’ll prove to be a good player for us.

As long as he’s playing that same role and he’s told to keep his passing simple to have him just knock in into the fullbacks, he’ll be alright.

Limited but I quite like him, every team needs a Pugh type player. Bunker next to him is a lot more better then he is so if we let him be the more expansive of the two, they will be ok. I thought him and Bunker complimented each other really well.

A blast from the past but Pugh reminds me a bit of Wayne Graves with less passing ability.

“A blast from the past but Pugh reminds me a bit of Wayne Graves with less passing ability.”

Ah Wayne Graves, covered every blade of grass with an incredible ability to arrive at a given point just seconds after the ball had gone.

    Has anything really changed?

With 7 games still to go, this is the longest pre-season in the history of football.

    Mid table NLN next season.

Whitehouse, Butterfield,Feeney will all leave,Off the wage bill and they do things like pass the ball. And Beestin and Hallam to go sit on another Physio’s table.

Carver to anyone who wants him.

Then depends if the manager is kept on.

Most of the old guard will leave. Interesting to see how many of the youngsters remain, though – after all most will not be too far over minimum wage.
A majority of the new ones in will also leave, in part coz of a number being on loan and others with ‘options’ in their short contracts.
I’m guessing that we’ll be looking at a good dozen new faces irrespective of what league we’re in.
Just hope that we aren’t back to new signings towards the end of pre-season training again. That really bugs me!

Watched two ex-Irons playing for Chester at Blyth yesterday.

A chunky Alex Kenyon waddling around at CB and debutant Elliott Whitehouse, also looking like he’d put on a few pounds, jogging along in midfield.

To be fair, considering he’d only joined the club on Tuesday, Whitehouse had a decent game.

However Blyth were really poor and if it hadn’t been for their keeper having a blinder Chester could have won 5-0.

Look odds on to go down now, so probably won’t be going there next year. Shame!

Whitehouse is no loss so he can go. Feeney hasn’t really done anything of note. Hallam’s a sick note. Carver’s shite. Beestin has been picking up more and more injuries as time’s gone on, good player though and age on his side.

Will we be able to afford Butterfield if we do indeed go down and will he even want to play that low down ?

If we do go down Wilson will be off because a club will definitely bid for him.

Would you want Beestin to stay ?. I don’t think he’s hit the heights of a few seasons back and has been on the decline ever since.

I prefer enthusiastic puppies, old dogs tend to be a bit droopy.

I agree. I just don’t think we’ll be needing the old dogs we’ve got.
