Still not looking good. About 6/7 players short of been half competitive I’d say. Shown end of last season most the young lads ain’t ready to step up.

Midfield looks a massive worry. Thought we’d have tried to keep Grant Bunn and Pugh… (most likely didn’t want to stay) going to be left with Nuttall and Jarvis up top I’d imagine. Maybe there level?

Few names I’d like maybe? Delaney… Ollie Banks.. Grimsby keeper (forgot his name sorry).. Matty Done?

Reality is will be waiting till august to see who can’t get a club after will come for peanuts…

First post on here and love the group👍

Grant and Pugh both released, Bunn turned down new contract and as for Jarvis playing up top, imagine something different, he got the bullet too. Nice day for a post though.

    Grant’s legs had gone.
We must assume that it was thought that Pugh had got as good as was ever going to.
Bunn brought precious little to the team – too many injuries, for a start.
    All needed to go.
Tom’s definition of ‘reality’ starting to look spot on, though!

Welcome Tom, you started off very well then let yourself down a bit after “massive worry.” Happily you recovered and finished strongly.

Pugh was a ridiculous decision and the reason farcical – he has been here too long, he needs to find his way !!

Now it appears all 1st targets are not interested and with a budget called ‘challenging’ by Keith Hill would think both NLN and NLS wages could also be a challenge !!

Grant was a class above everyone else in that side.

Disagree – I thought our most fluent attacking performances last season (a low bar, of course) came with him in the side.

Can’t understand the decision to release Pugh – not a world beater by any means but I’d be surprised if he’s replaced with anything better.

If he’s not we’ll be in more trouble than I think we’re in already.

Same old same old and although Swann claims to not be involved anymore he will always be just that!!!
He dictates the budget as the owner… if he showed signs of intent with some tasty additions we’d sell more season tickets, possibly do better in the league next year leading to more on the day ticket sales and we’d have a platform to build from!
Chicken and egg situation here with the only person able to tip the scales in own favour being the distant owner.

However, he’s sitting in the background watching us start yet another pre-season without a squad to pick from!!
    Absolutely ridiculous!!
The man’s a disgrace in my opinion.

To be fair to Pugh – he knew how to work his socks off on the pitch.
However, you could argue that he never looked capable of being any sort of game changer.
