Not playing the style of football that is wanted…….
October 12, 2020 at 1:10 pm #195741“The club only won seven of its final 20 games last season, meaning it was outside the play-off zone when the campaign was brought to an early end.
In addition to disappointing results, it was also felt the style of football Alexander’s team was producing did not match expectations.”
October 12, 2020 at 1:43 pm #195743Fifth in the table and lost his job? History repeating itself.
October 12, 2020 at 1:52 pm #195746They’ll be freeing up the managerial position for when OGS gets sacked later today 😂
March 22, 2021 at 4:44 pm #203752Now Richie Wellens sacked, only a couple a weeks ago he won the Efl trophy at Wembley. What do there owners want.
YMarch 22, 2021 at 7:04 pm #203763Who are the owners again?

Well we know that.
March 22, 2021 at 8:07 pm #203767What the style that get you play offs and cup finals?.
March 22, 2021 at 10:53 pm #203770Or the style that lost the playoffs?
March 22, 2021 at 11:00 pm #203771That said, maybe the owners should be careful what they wish for…
March 23, 2021 at 4:00 am #203773If I had the straight choice between him and Cox – takes deep swallow and confesses – I would stick with Cox for the Iron.
March 23, 2021 at 8:55 am #203775So you like boring football lesgeo fair play to you, Hes only lost one playoff, won 2 sacked as manager from 2 clubs while in playoff positions, arguably should have made another if Wigan hadn’t fielded a weakened team. And Cox has played in the main not to lose games rather than try to win them so I am led to believe, I too want Cox to stay as manager but next season we need to attack more, but at the moment nobody in there right mind would choose Cox over GA.

March 23, 2021 at 2:28 pm #203779Not really, AWG, but I don’t like a manager who gifts away a pretty nailed on promotion by changing a super successful system half way through a season.
I am deeply suspicious when a manager keeps falling into the same trap with assorted clubs.
I’ll give Neil the benefit of the doubt. I reckon he could yet be a very different man next season. No real reason why he shouldn’t have learned from this season’s mistakes – especially when most of the players will be his own.Frankly, I liked Paul Hurst. (Bet he’s wishing he were back at the SVS when comparing frying pans to fires.)
March 23, 2021 at 3:37 pm #203780I was okay with Hurst. I thought we were heading in the right direction and he was getting the best out of most the players. I’d like to know the full truth behind his exit. Don’t suppose we’ll ever know. Anyway, all history now.

March 23, 2021 at 3:37 pm #203781We were generally interesting to watch too.
March 23, 2021 at 3:59 pm #203782Loved GA when he first came in. He did inherit a decent bunch of players when compared to recent times and no doubt he turned them into a good team.
Once his mate left him he set teams up not to lose – I think they call it managing the game. Absolute bollocks when you try this with L1 and L2 level players. They simply make too many mistakes which is why they are in L1 and L2.
If this particular penny drops with Cox then he could turn out to be a good manager. I hope so.
