Yes you are wrong Ferrite.
November 30, 2021 at 3:22 pm #218740Fair enough. On an unrelated note, here’s the sweary Peterborough chairman talking about a L2 striker who scored 8 goals last season.

November 30, 2021 at 4:22 pm #218742Mike White( or Matt Dean) interviewed Neil Cox in the run up to the Transfer Window closing some time late August/early September. He asked him live on the radio about interest in players – he said somebody had come in with an offer for Loft but the Chairman was not prepared to sell him – soon after this he got his face injury so it brought to a halt any further movement. That interest is either rekindled or gone but that is where this came from – direct from the manager at the time. No club was specifically mentioned as per usual
December 1, 2021 at 4:41 am #218754I can’t provide a particular club awaywego but there was interest in him, as ironwae stated there was an actual bid that came in for Loft.
No mention of a team though. I remember Cox stating it in a live interview.
I suspect his agent has been in his ear and he’s started to believe he’s much better than he actually is. Comparing him to last season “when I thought he had scope for improvement” he’s regressed.
This version of Loft would struggle to get in a conference side. I’m not even sure this version is even fit enough to clean Jarvis’s boots.
There is a stark difference between 1 striker with less ability but wants to succeed and one striker who’s in his own head is championship standard who can’t be arsed to prove himself anymore.
I don’t think Loft has much desire anymore left in him…he’s deluded.
December 1, 2021 at 8:47 am #218756I just find it really hard to believe any other club would have come in for him, not like he scored 20 in a season for us. If a bid did come in for him, and to me that’s a big if, he’s hardly done is chances of leaving any good up to now this season, having said all that I don’t believe he deserves all this wanting away, head in the championship business when Loft hasn’t even made a comment. As for Cox we all found out that you couldn’t believe what he said.
December 1, 2021 at 4:17 pm #218764You can see some really good things in Loft’s game but they are outnumbered by an array of basics which don’t pass muster.
On the subject of passing – he gifts possession more than any player in the squad; he’s a big guy who doesn’t use his frame – but is prepared to foul as an alternative; his finding of space is average and his heading is much less than you’d expect from a centre forward.
Given time, I’d lay odds that Hill would improve him but we haven’t got time to play with.
If the offer can be resurrected – let him go.December 1, 2021 at 9:55 pm #218777I don’t believe he deserves all this wanting away, head in the championship business when Loft hasn’t even made a comment
If he keeps putting in crap performances and doesn’t show the same commitment and promise of last season, then he warrants people questioning him.

December 1, 2021 at 9:58 pm #218778Every one keeps banging on about Wilson, I saw him play the first half v Man City and he did not strike me as anything special. Other young lads in that game aquitted themselves much better.
It was against some of the countries best youngsters what do you expect?!
December 2, 2021 at 6:52 am #218779Well if he is a big ‘big time Charley’ to coin a phrase, then Hilly will work him hard and find him out.
I don’t think he will enjoy being properly trained…

Dear Steve
I was referencing him to our own youngsters v Man City and was watching keenly due to the hype he generates. He also failed to impress me in one of the pre-season friendlies.
I might be proved wrong about him (and hope I am) but when many others make claims and demand he be played in the first team I expect something special.
Kilmore, Cowling, Pointon, Cox, Hall Alexander were all 17-18 year olds who came through our ranks and had that something special.
December 2, 2021 at 2:43 pm #218784I think the argument is no so much about Wilson’s ability, but more about the fact that he hasn’t been given a chance to show if he has any.

December 2, 2021 at 9:37 pm #218789Ironking – the problem is such as Cameron are not getting opportunities. I watched him in the U18s when he was still in the U16s. More often than not he was against academy players with 3 yrs more experience and he learned quickly.
Played more on the right and rarely gave his markers any peace. I think he would be OK but he has to get the pace of the game first and games will do that.

December 3, 2021 at 10:53 am #218794Reference Cameron Wilson,
I have spoken to sources inside the club and Wilson is a very good prospect, apparently Mr Cox wanted to start Cameron Wilson but the cap on players due to the EFL embargo meant he could not start a game as we have used up the quota of those considered to be ‘established players’.
I might have been tempted to give O’no Neil 2 minutes game time to double his season total then sub him immediately for a youngster of our own!

December 3, 2021 at 4:23 pm #218800Been told Rotherham united
December 3, 2021 at 4:54 pm #218801Just listened to the clip of the posh chairman talking about strikers, and if the striker he is referring to is actually Loft then Loft is more deluded than I thought possible-£5k/week with £1m release clause-Lofts not even with £500/week.He might be talking about someone else but the goals scored tallies.

December 3, 2021 at 10:23 pm #218809I thought the same Vader and when he mentioned wanting a player as back up for Clarke Harris, Loft would fit the bill as he’s a similar sort of stature.
I suspect it’s his agent filling is head full of absolute crap and as a result he thinks he’s way better then what he is because we’ve not seen the same commitment as we saw last season from him.
Loft at the moment is miles off it and he threw his toys out the pram when Hill subbed him after playing crap a few matches ago.
As mentioned on here previously, Hill will find him out if he’s not pulling his weight so he either pulls his finger out and works for a place in the side or he’ll move on in Jan so it’s up to him.
I’ve got a feeling Hill will try and move him on if anybody wants him in January.

December 4, 2021 at 9:17 am #218814I think that’s right, Hill seems to like an enforcer up front and, although he’s got the build, Loft can’t (or won’t) do the job. Unless his agent is a miracle worker I can’t see an upward move which he seems to think he’s worth judging by his recent performances.

Seems like there’s a lot of it about!
December 4, 2021 at 7:43 pm #218828Just like you
December 4, 2021 at 8:07 pm #218830Hill has always set up with a big n nasty up front. I remember Calvin Andrew but he played Aaron Wilbraham as well.
As said above about Loft, he has the build and the stature but played more like a smaller striker…he’s an odd one.
Are there any big n nasties out there ?
December 5, 2021 at 8:35 pm #218860There are some tough little ones out there.
If he goes then Mr Hill has to have the money to recruit.
December 7, 2021 at 1:09 am #218891Not interested in tough little one’s. I’m asking about Big N’ Nasties. Hill has a love for them and we happen to need one.
Got any ideas ?
December 7, 2021 at 9:34 am #218893Difficult! If the EFL loan is not repaid it seems we’ll be very limited on who we can recruit. Surely any OOC will not be fit for 2 or 3 months and, if we can’t pay a fee, we’ll be lucky to get much in the way of quality. Is Iwelumo still playing and available?? Tomi Ameobi is a big lad and could still be young enough.
December 7, 2021 at 10:36 am #218895Iwelumo’s a pundit on Scottish TV now, still looks in good nick but not sure he’d get around the pitch that well, 7 years on from when he was last here!
December 7, 2021 at 11:21 am #218896Loving this Iwelumo piss take, the only time we had an actual tree masquerading as a footballer in an Iron shirt. How about Roy of the Rovers? he’s not played for over 25 years and lost his foot in an helicopter crash, still preferable to the human tree.

December 7, 2021 at 12:55 pm #218902December 7, 2021 at 1:34 pm #218903Ironawe don’t forget Mr Ormonroyd !!
Now he was ‘special’ !!
December 7, 2021 at 3:56 pm #218924Of course, Loft doesn’t necessarily have to be moving up the pyramid to increase his income and chance of progression, maybe he is planning a McAtee style move to the cash-rich Vanarama; plenty of teams paying higher wages than we can afford down there and a chance to bag a few goals maybe??
December 7, 2021 at 4:10 pm #218927Ben May still knocking about or has he been locked up for more toilet seat thefts?
