Back in the dim and distant past of reserve teams we didn’t have 18 man match day squads.
We didn’t play every Tuesday and Saturday, and we certainly didn’t have Mickey Mouse trophy competitions where the first games were in a mini league and the big clubs’ U21s were included
We had a reserve side well into this century and we played two-legged league cup ties and I think the Autowindscreens Shield, in its 90s guise, featured a mini league.
I amaze myself all the time BS glad I am amazing you now. I do think senility is setting in now with you though, I have posted many times I DID NOT want Cox as manager but now he is he needs to be given time, I HAVEN’T seen Scunny play this year so haven’t seen Cox’s tactics, but I have seen Wilcox’s. Have you got that BS.
The average age of the team that started against Stevenage was 24.
If Watson had played instead of Howard it would have been 23.
Just saying…
Average age over season 24.3. Second youngest only forest green younger. If we were keeping them all you could maybe see some merit, but we won’t be so must go down as a failure.
The blow of losing his job must have been softened for Russ by the glowing tribute paid to him by the chairman on the club`s website.
The money saved on the 23s is not going into the first team. The first team budget is being reduced and unfortunately this reduction will impact heavily on the quality of the players the club sign to replace the many being released, and those not taking up the contracts offered by the club. Prepare for an extremely tough season ahead.
