When we got relegated in 2019 it looked impossible to get relegated with 15 games to go, and we got relegated in style, so with 3 points for a win we have to do it in reverse, just need a run of wins and see what happens if we can get confidence.

    16 games left.
Tonight, we are 5 points behind Oldham who have FOUR games in hand.
    50 points guarantees safety.
So, 9 wins needed from 16 games.
    It’s over.
Has been for the last 3 months.

Far too much obfuscation and circumlocution surround the club and those who report on it.

    Tell it as it is!
Don’t be blinded by the rubbish people spout pre & post game.

Am i detecting a hint glee in your multiple Oldham – Nuttal winning posts Rene ?.

Im loving the new found buzz at the club but the sad reality that IMO there simply arent enough games left for the new Scunny manager to weave some magic and get this mish mash of new and old to gel and go on an unprecedented winning streak to safety .. miracle required

Agreed IFA, it takes time to mould a team. Something we don’t have.

The great teams that we remember down the years (Leeds 60s/70s, Liverpool 70s/80s, Man Utd 90s/00s) had amazing synergy and were like a pack of African Wild Dogs (80%-85% hunting success rate, the highest in land animals in nature).

That’s what we need to become for next season – a pack of African Wild Dogs!

It doesn’t have to be pretty – just efficient & effective.

We are not going to stay up, and that is not the fault of our new owner & manager we all know that, the damage was done with our recruiting pre-season and selling the only players scoring goals during the season.

What’s done is done, we need to focus on the things we can change which is building a side that can win promotion from the NLN at the first time of asking. If we can pick a few wins up in the remainder of this season for us long suffering fans then its a bonus.

A non day for the clubs trying to escape relegation tomorrow in the NL.

    Dag & Red (12th) v Solihull (11th)
    Woking (3rd) v Boreham Wood (7th)
    Wrexham (2nd) v Wealdstone (10th)
    Chesterfield (5th) v Notts County (1st)

The bottom half boys can stand easy this weekend.

Oldham v Gateshead on Tuesday evening is a big un!
I’m sure we are all rooting for an away win?
Keep Oldham down in the mix.
Or, is a draw a better result?

If we are going down, then we should do so with a bang. (Not fireworks or anything else illegal). Show the Iron that we will always support them, and that the mad sad Swann has not stopped us.

    We are Scunthorpe UTBI.

Support my the fans now and next season is critical.. gives the players a boost seeing so many at home and willing to travel to away games being as loud as possible… as you say shows them it was Swan and his disasterous running of the club that was keeping fans away

No Rene we aren’t all hoping for an away win, don’t want Oldham in the NLN with us next season, there’s only 1 team automatically promoted and it will be hard enough down there without them as well, took Stockport 4seasons to get out and York 3 it’s not a given let’s not complicate things, and we don’t want man city either.

I’m drowning in my own saliva in rabid anticipation of next season.

Kettering Town at home on the opening day of the season – happy days!

I’ll never TYRE of watching the Iron.

Back in 1976, the Poppies were the first club in the Uk to embrace shirt sponsorship.

I think it’ll be a home win tbh.

At first sight Gerry, our ‘big lad up front’ looks to me as if he is able to bring the players around him into the game. This was not a Nuttall strength.

Well this season gets worse and worse, York won at Southend now a night game to come. Spoiled a good day out for many of the train lads.

Only 17 games remaining to secure 27 points and guarantee escaping relegation.

    9 wins will do it.

    Doddle!

That was the number of points needed to get to the ‘magical’ 50 points mark.

It looks as if 45 points will keep you up this season.

So, 12 games to go, 18 points needed.

    Six wins required.
