Only 17 games remaining to secure 27 points and guarantee escaping relegation.

    9 wins will do it.

    Doddle!

Being realistic, after looking at the League Table, we have very little chance of not ending up in the bottom four, only the one team that is behind us does not have at least two games in hand, and we would need one hell of a run of results to avoid the drop, and with the clubs record, it will not happen.

    It is merely improbable.

For me performance is more important than point.
I think the way we play is good enough, just wait and see.

    Some interesting games next weekend.
The bottom of the table could become even more defined come 5pm Saturday.

Realistically we have to start again in tier 6.
The damage inflicted by you know who has been too great for us ever to recover it in a third of a season. Although the new owner obviously cannot rule out survival publicly, all will now be focused rightly on setting us up for challenging for promotion next season.

Agreed. I’ll be happy with consolidation in NLN next season – stop the slide.

Most people dream the dream until it’s too late simply because that’s how the human spirit appears to be wired, a couple of new strikers and an experienced keeper and who knows but it’s highly unlikely we will stay up. I’m just pleased the team.Is actually back to playing as a team and giving it a real go against the opposition in matches, if we end up going down but survive as a club we can rebuild and come back again, yesterday’s crowd and the atmosphere they created shows that.

Players either play or don’t play for managers.
Jog there, a half tackle here, mis-placed pass wherever, mis-direct strike there.

Ten outfield players operating at 90% and you are a full man down.
    You are playing 10 v 11.

Ten outfield players operating at 80% and you are playing 9 v 11

Points make prizes and a lack of points gets managers the sack.

Want rid of a crabby, grumpy, egotistical, disciplinarian manager – operate at 80%

    Player power!

    Bye, bye mr manager.

The players were obviously putting a shift in for the Vice Admiral.

The last thing we need is an experienced GK, Foster needs to play in every game and then move to a premiership team in the summer for a big fee, other than that what is the point in having him here you only get experience by playing.

If we do/dont stay up it’s certainly going to be an exciting few months with a few decent away games thrown in

Can’t see it. It would take a big winning streak and hope that not only the other bottom three and someone like Dorking or Halifax to go on a losing streak. Unless Dean comes in with a striker or two hitting the ground running, but more likely it’ll take a bit of time. Maybe if it was Nov?

I meant we need some experienced cover Awaywego, nowt wrong with young Foster but the realities mean if he gets injured we dont want the emergency loan keeper route to go down and if Foster does leave, then the exprienced guy is ready made for next season.

The clubs above us has two to three games in hand of us. They will be pushing like hell to win those games.
Also yes it is fantastic to have a new owner, but i do question the reported new manager coming in. It is getting the manager right so i cannot getting carried away with this guy from some armature club in Peterborough. Lets keep our feet on the ground lads and see what happens.UTI

    Absolutely, more games, bigger fee.
    It could be millions.

Makes you wonder what would have happened if Swann had sold up in the summer (or even October).

Re: Nelson. I wonder if Dean could have seen the season out at PS after agreeing to take over in May?

Of course if that was the case and we go down Hilton would have been criticised for not bringing in a new manager.

Too many ifs and buts at the moment.

And if Nelson kept us up people would say we shouldn’t replace him with Dean, leaving Dean cheesed off.

That’s if Dean was then discarded. Nelson would feel cheesed off if not for missing out when doing well.

At least we’ve answered Xxx’s question of what are we going to moan about now!

    Devils advocate.
James Dean struggles, barely wins a game between now and the end of the season.
    Fans are not impressed.
    Then what?

Nelson is still onboard if that happens.

I think certain posters on here really need a few happy pills. Look, we were on the verge of going out on business until Hilton came in who’s bought the club, stadium and land. The loan borrowed against the ground was paid off by Swann as part of the deal as Hilton stated the other day. The tax bill is to be settled sometime tomorrow, meaning the embargo will be lifted and we’ve even been promised players to come in, which Hilton said would be a considerable amount.

A new management team in place and Nelson has even been given a proper contract. All this has been done in less than a week. I suggest instead of doom and gloom, show a bit of optimism and back the club in it’s quest to stay up until it’s mathematically impossible to do so.

Honestly some posters on this forum really need to get a grip of themselves. Some people are just never happy.

It’s probably unlikely we will stay up but with 4 of our last 6 games against Dorking, Oldham, Torquay and Gateshead if we can stay anywhere near 5th bottom then we would have at least a chance of doing the unthinkable!
We just need all the others to start losing there games in hand and then at least we can start to believe!
