A simple assessment of games still to play Home and Away for the teams in 2nd 3rd and 4th are:
Scunny:
15th — A
12th — H
17th — H
23rd — A
Chorley:
17th — H
14th — A
16th — A
22nd — H
18th — A
Brackley:
1st — H
5th — A
9th — H
17th –A
I wouldn’t bet against Chorley winning these 5.
Agreed, going to be very tough to finish second now.
I fancy our chances more if our playoff games were at home, but Chorley were the last team to go up finishing 2nd/3rd and that was 5 seasons ago.
In the 8 home games since Xmas we’ve only being wining in one going into added time, not a great place to be so its away for me.
The crowd at home have been to anxious and upset in most of them games it feeds through to the players, wouldn’t have fancied penalties on saturday if that had been a playoff game don’t know about you.
Awaywego – the anxiety created is due to one person. His post match interviews drain the life out of you. Goodness knows what goes on in pre-match or half time.
How he approaches the play-offs will be interesting. Best to all for last 5 league games.
Sadly im not confident about gaining promotion via the playoffs especially as it now looks like we will more than likely not retain second spot.
I predict us getting 7 or 8 points max from our remaining fixtures which could see us in third or even drop to fourth depending how Brackley get on.
I base my lack of optimism on ..
Being very inconsistent
Always fail to turn up for big games
Terrible in front of goal failure to take our chances
Teams know how to set up against us as seen numerous times throughout the season.
Seems no plan B when things need changing in game
Does JD even know his strongest line up ?
I still feel there is some thing not quite right in the back ground … possibly some know they wont be here next season .. anybodys guess.
Read one comment on another platform where a fan is saying there is only one footballing brain at the club n thats Jacob Butterfield .. going on results etc since the NY whose to argue JB is one player the club must try to keep which ever league we are playing in next season.

Nah the anxiousness is caused by the players, the crowd are there at the start in every game and then wanes if we don’t get on the front foot or at least show they can pass the ball to each other and not to the opposition, the crowd come back once they do but it’s all to infrequent. That’s the annoying bit we all know they can.
