    Not much of a footballer’s car, JD 1 is on a Peugeot 3008. 🙂

Getting all excited about a car registration at GP.

If it was the cod’s the telegraph would have a picture with the owner and an interview with the car number plate.

Another 22 adult, 3 U18 and 4 over 65 season tickets would be sold on the back of the article.

How much is the dearth of SUFC articles in the Telegraph still due to bad relations with the club?

IMO all of it, but not sure if “club” is the right word.

It seems unless they have match reports or pieces from Max Bell there’s nothing. So either the club aren’t sending them press releases or they are and the Telegraph aren’t publishing them. Either way, it’s rubbish.

One of my cod pals told me the rumour around Grimsby is that Hurst is eyeing up Gallimore.
I said he will cost them as he is still under contract.

Gallimore came from Grimsby as a u14 I believe and his dad Tony played for Grimsby, wouldn’t surprise me as I have said Dan looks like the most likely of the youngsters to succeed.

He looks like a footballer already, he is physically strong, has a good engine and also looks to have an eye for a pass

Haven’t heard anyone here mention that we’re after young Gallimore. When I asked about him on another thread you guys seemed to rate him though.
There is a thread on the fishy saying we’re interested in Taft . Can’t see it myself and would be slightly concerened if we are after someone who played in a defence that conceded 90 goals in a season . Is he one of your better players ?

Looked solid enough when he first arrived, but ended up another rabbit in the headlights.

Mind you I wouldn’t rate anyone based upon our last season. I’m sure that with decent players around him and a shrewd manager he could do a job.

Erico Sousa who we’ve released today might not be a bad signing for you . Town fans are 50/50 over whether we should have kept him . Very skilful and hardworking , defenders are scared stiff of him and he wins a lot of free kicks . His end product tends to let him down though. Personally I think he would struggle in L2 , but did well for us in the national league last season.

To be fair to him, if his final ball and finishing where as good as his approach play he would probably be playing for a top D1 or lower championship team . Players at his age are in the national league for a reason though. He was very popular here and I think a top half NL team will be in for him.

There are lots of players out there that would be good signings for Scunny ..alas with the current toxicity at the club actually getting them to sign over another less shambolic outfit is always gonna be the problem ..Hill must soon be through his black book of his ex players and mates.

CC ..well done to the Cods on getting promoted .. deserved especially the way the Mariners handled the 3 play off games… shame no derby fixtures next season but im sure the Iron will be back , alas it may take way longer then it took your mob if we dont get rid of Swann n Co.

If you can’t pay fees – you have to entice players in with substantial wages.
Sigh. So that ain’t gonna happen!
    We desperately need good forwards.

Youngsters cannot do the job we need at the moment.

Gambling is perhaps the only way we stand any chance. The gamble is on players whose injury record MAY now be behind them. I shudder at this thought as I type.

Risky, innit? Especially with our brilliant past record of signing crocks – even pre-dating the Swann tenure. So …?

Off on a tangent – one loanee last season showed glimmers of real promise.
    Sinclair.
Should we be interested? – My take is that he will develop but with our current squad shouldn’t we solely be looking for experience ahead of potential?

Has to be balanced surely les. We saw the effect of a team of kids and a team of 30+ ers probably wouldn’t work either. We have Rowe & O’Malley (young but some experience) Beestin (older and experienced) and Feeney, Boyce and Taft (been there, done it) That looks like a decent base for a starting 11 (original Taft not recent btw) We could then probably rotate the youngsters two in at a time with a few more in the Beestin category or older.

Just to add a bit of fuel to the fire Taft is on holiday with macatee and a few of the Grimsby players, not sure who there though
