Rather Rory then Dewhurst and I think young Foster has potential, I’d be happy with them both as goalkeepers for the next few seasons, if we still have a club left of course.

I do hope not his record is shite, why would we go there surely Foster can be number 1 in the NLN ffs, and run with the under 18 lads as back up, why pay out more money for a mainly redundant post hopefully.

Watson better than Dewhurst the butcher ??..i think so .. alas a real possibility of admin looms like a dark cloud and IMO more likely then a takeover.. im ov the mind stale fart Swan the lingerer has had enough and ready to take the club that route.

I rated Ohara the keeper who came in on emergency loan before ..

Irons best ever keeper .. ??? any names from members .. Gilks was class ginger Joe Neenan wasnt :)

Mussy (1st spell) and Joe Murphy are the best two I have seen in my time watching The Iron, we had a keeper on loan from Forest who was decent too, think his name was Darren Hayes?

Tommy Evans did a great job before the Days of Joe Money.

Luke Daniels was good, as was Jak Alnwick on loan.

    Anyone remember Morten Hlydgaard?

Seen most from Ken Jones til present day. All round confidence I would say Matt Gilks. Favourites were Joe Murphy (of his time, though I think he owed part of his golden boot to Crosby and Foster), Geoff Barnard – smiling through the thick and thin and who could forget Lionel Perez?

Rose tinted specs say Geoff Bernard who I believe was just a good all round reliable keeper. In later years Joe Murphy, who had the benefit of playing in a very good side and I always liked Daniels. Gilks didn’t hang around long enough because of injury but whilst here was a good solid keeper.

I remember Hlydgaard. Wasn’t he huge played a game at Lincoln away and was awful

Pèrez has got to be up there for me as a loan.

And Murphy has to be my favorite fir consistency

I forgot about Murphy and Evans , despite being injury prone Gills remains my favourite goalie .. he was dam solid n a great shot stopper blocker.

All.great keepers need a decent defence with positional.awareness i like a voca keeper ..alas in short supply in recent seasons

Dewhurst abviously doesny give a toss n just turning up.until.his loan ends

I would place Welsh International Ken Jones as my best ever Scunny keeper, brilliant keeper, followed by George Thompson, but not many will remember either of them.

Has to be Joe Murphy, the only keeper that never made a mistake. See if you can find any footage of goals he conceeded and he’ll point out whose fault it was.
Loved Perez, amazed nobody’s mentioned the keeper that turned out to be the best we ever had.

Just old enough to remember Ken Jones. Great keeper and a bit of a character. A Welsh version of Joe Murphy.

Thought Perez was another in that mould. That away win at Burnley was a highlight for me.

A neighbour of mine used to say that when Lavery was our keeper he should change his name to Lavatory, because when it came to goalkeeping he was a proper shithouse. 💩😂

Ken Jones was a class keeper, the first keeper I saw playing for the Iron. Ray Clemence and Joe Neenan were decent but Joe Murphy would get my vote.

Joe knee em in the bollocks cost us an away day to Liverpool and a fine for himself when he assaulted someone who was goading him in tiff’s, wouldn’t go down well now with some of the the snowflake fans we have now.

Dewhurst,Arblaster and Lavery possibly not the best.

Add O’Meara and Reeves and that completes the set.

Mark Samways voted Player of the Season 94–95.

Least if Rory comes back we know he wants to be here for the fight.. not sure we can say the same about Dewhurst?

Let’s face it, he can’t be worse than Dewhurst. I know he’s a young kid on loan but he’s been dreadful for the most part.

Bring Watson back. Good, solid goalkeeper – exactly what the squad is lacking at this particular moment.
