Sticking with the 5-4-1 that brought us a better class of defeat on Tuesday.

Beeston dropped because we don’t want anyone on the pitch who might score from open play.

Just about to post the same thing MK. Another pathetic attempt at a 0-0 (hoping for a pen to sneak a win?) and Beestin sacrificed for entering the opposition half more than he’s allowed to.

Line up almost made me not bother buying a match pass.

It’s not going to be a good watch but you can almost make an argument for 5 at the back with Watson in the team.

I’d rather see Beestin and Jessop instead of Bunn and Green and go 532 at least.

I never like to jinx prior to the match but that team looks weaker than most NL teams.

Why not play a RB? Why not play O’malley.

Forgot to say that I sincerely hope I’m wrong and I’m forced into a grovelling apology to the manager at FT.

Because Pugh played better there than Rowe throughout pre-season? Because Thompson is deemed better than him?

Rochdale look dangerous down Pugh’s side – unfair on him to keep putting him in there.

O’Malley has a better all round game / has an excellent delivery – however we have nobody to deliver it to now that Loft has gone off.

It’s been a dire half of football.

O’Malley has a better all round game

Disagree, Thompson looks decent and is a heck of a lot quicker. O’Malley really struggles with pacey wingers.

Decent enough point, better second half. In desperate need for that striker to show up!

For me Thompson was my motm. O’Malley was rightly dropped to the bench after his performance at barrow. We’re in desperate need of a striker but it’s a point on the board and a clean sheet

    Thoughts:
Kenyon should be on the bench.
Green not cutting it for me.
    CBs were splendid.
Good game for Rory – had surprisingly little to do.
For first time, I began to see what Neil is seeing in Pugh.
    3 – 4 – 3 was a disaster.
I could not work out the formation second half but so much better. (What was it, BTW?)
Some class from Beestin – hope he hasn’t aggravated whatever his injury is.
    Perry to take Kenyon’s slot.
Thought Hippo was super coming on as sub: grafted, tackled, passed well, caused trouble. Based on today, I’d put Hippo ahead of Green.
In the end – deserved a point.

As a player, if Hippolyte is in front of you, you’ve got to be asking some serious questions of yourself

The defence is obviously going to be our main strength this season so well done to Cox for sorting that out, also a welcome clean sheet for Rory which should stop him getting an arse kicking on here tonight. We need that new striker and winger for sure plus something different in midfield to change things around when the manager needs to. If the Coventry lad comes back in a few weeks time I don’t see us needing another keeper option but we need a change of luck with injuries or else it will be very difficult this season. Can’t argue with an away point, we just need more scoring options to grab a few wins, well done guys, good point today.

Agree with Les on Kenyon, he’s either massively unfit or just a terrible footballer. So, so slow…can barely get within 5 yards of an opponent!

A real live Hippo would be better than Green based on his 2 games this season.

Agtee with Lesgeo regarding CB’s, Kenyon and Watson.

If that is as fit as Kenyon gets he will have a backside full of splinters by next May.

Lots of us have had our say about Rory but he was good today. Given he is going to be playing for the next few Weeks then let’s hope he finally takes his chance.

Poor first half but better in the second. I really don’t like our anti football approach but needs must.

6 pointer coming up on Tuesday.

Hippolyte still got a lot to do to suggest he is a professional footballer to me Les.

Poor game with a second half slightly better than a dreadful first half.

Formation was all over the place. No width whatsoever and lucky not to concede from the full backs being exposed. Thompson did well but Pugh is not a right back so why are we starting him there ?

Loft injured so not recognised striker on the pitch after 20 minutes which after 2 games in is a an absolute disgrace. Utter shambolic organisation from the transfer department again.

We are basically a punt it forward and hope for the best team, no creativity whatsoever and no idea on how to break a side down.

On the positives, the centre backs look up to the job in this league and Watson had a good game so fair play.

A good point, but not optimistic at all going forward.

I doubt if another 44 0-0 draws will be enough to keep us up.

Poor game, give over, it was end to end after the first half hour without either team creating to much, we were the better team throughout the second half, can’t name a man of the match they all put a shift in and worked for each other, Pugh after a dodgy start grew into the game and looks decent,Rory never put a foot wrong, made a great save, distribution great,if he can play like that for 80% of the games we have a goalie, the scunny crowd were outstanding creating a brilliant atmosphere the support offered to Pugh and Rory will have given them a lift, give me the young boisterous hooligan fans any day over the likes of BS and Alcy any day, nice to see most fans joining in with the singing, god point away from home maybe should have had all three, if we put as much effort in as we did today we should be fine. A very enjoyable day.

I would take 44 0-0 draws if we put that much effort in, can’t really put my finger on it the first 25 mins so deep and negative, then so much positivity then on in, we seemed to get a boost once Loft went off.

    Liked the ref.
He allowed tackling and was not influenced by stupid shouts for freekicks.
Got a huge percentage of decisions right.

Neil tried something new in formation which failed – he was maybe a bit slow to react to them cutting us to shreds in CM but when he did make his change of style – it was spot on.
Please. Anybody – what system was it?
As far as I could see there were a load of systems it was not …

    Agreed good ref.

No idea what the system was but it worked better when Beestin came on and we had 3 in cm.

If Loft had stayed on and Beestin started instead of Green who was an absolute waste of space we might’ve looked almost competent.

It was pretty much 550 a lot of the time.

Good shift from the 3 CB’s and Pugh and Thompson did well enough without really looking comfortable as wing backs.

    Perry and Beestin looked decent.

Bunn I’m not sure about yet.

The plan was clearly everyone except Loft behind the ball and flood the box with the big lads for long throws/corners but after loft went off there didn’t seem to be a plan B.

2 shots on target and one corner hardly suggest a massive success.
