Striker on loan until January from Blackpool
August 28, 2022 at 2:34 pm #243732Nothing against the lad and hope he flourishes but ffs, really?
August 28, 2022 at 2:37 pm #243734Hill has lost the plot
August 28, 2022 at 2:43 pm #243735Not a striker but a winger, but their fans really rate him, he plays for the Scotland under19s
August 28, 2022 at 2:45 pm #243736But remember we are non league now and not league 2 so don’t expect first team players on loan at this level unless you are Wrexham.
August 28, 2022 at 3:00 pm #243738Lost count of how many players have come and failed but ‘highly rated’ by fans of their parent club
August 28, 2022 at 3:05 pm #243739With the risk of sounding like a broken record, I would have to say give the lad a chance. He might well be pants, but on the other hand might well be better than what we have.
Best of British luck to him…

August 28, 2022 at 3:18 pm #243743Hope he isn’t a bloody striker with a record of 2 goals in 17 apps for Chester in NLN last season!
August 28, 2022 at 4:01 pm #243750That’s a good record for us

August 28, 2022 at 4:06 pm #243751I remember similar was said about Ryan Yates and Jack Cork in the past, it is all hit and miss, we even signed a striker on loan from Newcastle twice and some moaned, and look at him now, Ivan Toney, then there was Jermaine Beckford from Leeds, Carlisle fans were laughing saying he was crap,

August 28, 2022 at 4:19 pm #243753Hopefully brought in as a winger and we see a system change.
Still need a striker and centre back desperately.

didn’t realise there was a time limit, but stating players who weren’t rated when they came here but did well here, last 4 plus years we haven’t had anyone decent permanent or on loan, though I don’t know why it put the post on twice.
August 28, 2022 at 6:51 pm #243766Double digit finger jab mick, it’s an age thing mate.
August 28, 2022 at 7:04 pm #243767Mick, you’re naming the odd loanee that played for us up to 16 years ago. I’ll use the past 4 years’ intake as my realistic barometer for judging how well he’s likely to do.
Like mentioned above, how is signing unproven youngsters like this going to affect the morale of our own youngsters, who were completely and unnecessarily thrown under the bus by our idiot manager last season!?
August 28, 2022 at 7:34 pm #243770Blackpool can recall him after 28 days, so not guaranteed to stay till Jan.

Toney and Yates are in the last 6 years, Cork is still playing, regarding the young players they are not influencing us winning games, regarding the two newcomers they are both from bigger clubs so should be better, whether they are we will see, but we are short of players and they are only here short term.

It doesn’t work for the smaller Club.August 28, 2022 at 8:21 pm #243775Can play on both wings according to what I’ve read. I suppose it makes sense because we can now move Daniel to LB.
August 28, 2022 at 8:41 pm #243777Sorry all you nay-sayers but Apter is one hell of a player.
Saw him a couple of times at the end of last season when he was on loan at Chester. Head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch.
Slight build but like shit off a stick and very skilful. Reckon we’ve pulled off a bit of a coup.
Mind you this is Scunthorpe United he’ll be playing for!

August 28, 2022 at 8:53 pm #243779Blackpool fans really rate him. Daniel at LB, all we need now is a CB who can actually defend to come in.
August 28, 2022 at 9:18 pm #243780In Congleton tonight and chatting to Leon Legge, ex Port Vale captain. Said he was without a club as he’d been released by Harrogate. First Bank Holiday he could remember without a game. 37 now, but would still probably be better than Taft!
August 28, 2022 at 9:30 pm #243781Stevie Wonder would be better than Taft. I can’t think of a player in an iron shirt who’s declined at the rate in which he has. Taft is absolutely shocking, no composure on the ball…he’s generally all over the place.
If we could somehow hypnotize a club to take him on loan and get somebody else in with his wage, it would be an absolute masterstroke. I would imagine he’d be on a fair wedge though so the only club with that kind of spending power would be Wrexham.

It’s a good job that coaching & training have got nothing to do with our problems otherwise you might look at that sort of decline in form and question the management.
