Taking key financial decisions out of the hands of Premier League clubs and ensuring fans get a say in how their teams are managed are some of the key recommendations in a landmark review of how the top of English football is managed.
The Independent Fan Led Review of Football Governance in England chaired by Tracey Crouch MP was published late on Wednesday.
The creation of a new regulator that recognised the importance of the business aspect of football but also ensured the protection of their cultural heritage and long term sustainability was at the centre of the recommendations.

Would be good to see but I suspect the vested interests at the top of the game will ensure it doesn’t happen.
The wage cap introduced last season was a step in the right direction, I don’t understand why people like our chairman wasn’t in favour of it.
Once again the emphasis is on the PL, it’s as though nothing matters outside of it.
It does mention the EFL, albeit further down the page. It could lead to the fat cats throwing us a few crumbs.

But that is where the biggest reforms need to be? The PL is a black hole sucking all money towards it. If we can curb their greed, there might be a bit more left lower down the leagues.

Lower leagues now mean less than women’s footy. and less than Scottish prem.
Footy results were always in order from div 1 to div 4, THEN Scottish.
