1) Lose all three ‘6-pointers’ against the worst teams in the league (no point beating Harrogate, Port Vale & Walsall if you lose the really important games)
2) Cant defend; teams never have to work hard to score against us! Other teams look committed to defending their goal; our defenders & keeper always look statuesque!
3) Can’t score; opposition keepers could almost have a day off when they play against us. I have never witnessed a more in effective team!
Other teams are improving; the cod’s will also; I cannot see where we are going to get the necessary points to survive.
All of the above results in National League football next season, if we still exist!
January 2, 2021 at 5:22 pm #200086Happy New Year!
January 2, 2021 at 5:55 pm #20009646 game season, doesn’t matter who you get your points against, would agree with your analogy if we were going for promotion but we’re not. From what you and others have said there at least 3 other teams who are worse than us, and we only need 2 to be.
January 2, 2021 at 5:58 pm #200097This team would struggle in the National league
January 2, 2021 at 6:17 pm #200099I disagree Awayswego.
Harrogate, and possibly Colchester aside, we have looked second best against every side we have faced this season.
I tend to have a browse on an opposition forum after a game and it’s pretty much universal across the boards we are the worst team most sides have faced.
My main hope for survival was that Southend were going to be a basket case And one out of The rest at least one team would be worse than use. However, we’ve deservedly lost against Stevenage, Mansfield, Southend and the Cods.
With Brown, Van Veen, Onarosie and Mcgahey I’d be confident we’d have enough, however it’s increasingly unlikely all 4 will feature again together. If we lose Clarke and a midfielder we are back to getting tonked 5-0 at home.
Cox hasn’t pulled up any trees but I won’t call him out until he has his own team. This is the doing of Swann and the transfer committee dealing with chancers such as Askgodders and other morons flogging us shite. It’s alright moaning about COVID but it was his decision to put a side of 30+ players together in a scatter gun, cluster fuck transfer policy.
Everyone knows it but if we go down we will not come back up. We do not have the fan base of a Luton, Tranmere, Oxford, Lincoln, and even a Stockport whom have sank to further depths.
We are in a relegation battle to protect 70 years of proud league football history in the town.
It’s about time some down at GP realised that.
January 2, 2021 at 6:32 pm #200100We have the poorest centre forwards in League Two, and they would probably be the worst in the National League, we also have the poorest keeper the club has ever had in 70 years, and add to that, our injury record is really pathetic, any injured player at Scunny is automatically out for at least six weeks, and Cox, Lillis and Mussa are going to prove that we have the worst management team in League Two, we only have about three more months to find this is correct. They are even bringing on players that do not and have no intention of giving their best because theywant away.
It really all boils down to our Chairman who has taken our club from League One play off contenders into a relegation fighter in League Two, his son is Cheif Scout, his company are owed enough money by the club that is covered by the club assets like the ground bvalue, so in fact we are bust and heading full speed into the National League, will the club survive is a big question.
January 2, 2021 at 7:45 pm #200106we also have the poorest keeper the club has ever had in 70 years,
Behave!
Doubt if he’s in the top five. Won us two points on Tuesday. Did you forget that?
Funny how people will automatically blame a keeper for conceding too many goals and a CF for not scoring enough. Wasn’t Novak your whipping boy last season?
Team game.

January 2, 2021 at 7:56 pm #200110How can you disagree with me CBRP, Its not me saying there are 3 more teams worse than ours, look at the original post. I’ve not seen any of the games at all so can’t comment myself but plenty have done they have said Harrogate, Southend, Stevenage, and if course the cods are all worse.
January 2, 2021 at 8:08 pm #200115Yes come on CBRP, how could you disagree with somebody who has not seen any of the matches?
January 2, 2021 at 8:21 pm #200119Harrogate, Southend, Stevenage, Cods worse than us? Now tell me the scores when we played them.
January 2, 2021 at 11:02 pm #200126You know today’s result Ironawe, but we beat Harrogate 5-2 and lost 1-0 to the cods and sarfend, is your memory that bad maybe you’ve got early signs of dementia, earlier on this week you said today’s game was massive, I would see the doc if I was you and get a reality check.
