Topics: 100We ain’t ever going to be an EFL Club in our lifetime!
Lifetime = next 20 years.
Nb- unless they expand the EFL to 96 Clubs (National League becomes EFL3).
By the bye – ain’t it great to see Man City top and Man Utd bottom of the Premier League?
What I’d give to see another QPR, Norwich, Nottingham Forest, Ipswich, Blackburn, Newcastle or Leicester in the mix!
So predictable – so boring!

completely agree .. cant see Scunny back in the EPL anytime soon .. more likely drop the NLN if things carry on like this..
As for Man City n the EPL .. the games are good to watch but all to predictable .. Man Us decline the only real head shaking thing thats changed .. oh and Liverpools poor start… Man City winning the title by 20 points isnt good unless you are a city fan and it smacks of the Celtic era in Scotland only without the sleet windchill factor haggis and ginger hair.
Back to Scunny .. we are doomed until Billy liar fooks off… cant see any take over happening soon.

August 18, 2022 at 9:53 am #242880Man Utd and Everton are demonstrating what happens when there a general air of negativity surrounding the club (as is the case at GP).
Let’s face it. Both clubs have appointed pedigree managers – Mourinho, Koeman, Ancelotti, van Gaal. Yet both lag behind their city neighbours.
Managers struggling and players not performing isn’t unique to the Iron. It also shows that throwing money at the problem isn’t a panacea for all ills.
If the biggest clubs in the country can’t sort it out why should we expect anything different at Scunthorpe?
August 18, 2022 at 9:57 am #242882Throwing very little money at it doesn’t seem to work either.

August 19, 2022 at 4:22 am #242928Looks like the 2nd wealthiest man in the UK (55th in the world) is after buying Man U.
That will prolly take ages. In the mean time Scunny are going to have to get someone to buy The Iron, lock stock etc.
We don’t want Mr Swine to send us to the NLN. It’s time to pack up and foff piggy eyed twat.

August 19, 2022 at 12:45 pm #242937According to sky news money hour 10-11am, said man values it around its capitalisation 2 billion whereas the owners value it 5 billion, not that it’s up for sale at the moment, who’ll be sold first us or them.
August 19, 2022 at 1:33 pm #242939‘them’? They’re your first team aren’t they?

Yes, there’s nothing more refreshing than seeing a sportswashing oil-rich state bankrolling a tedious hegemony of the top flight. They’re not even particularly exciting to watch, they have no vulnerabilities, they just smother the opposition with their vast dominance.

August 19, 2022 at 3:30 pm #242948Sorry Deerey I know your a bit dense, ‘them’? Man utd. Lk did allude to man utd in his post.

If Man City are not particularly exciting to watch then Liverpool are as dull as ditchwater. I know the money has changed the Premier league forever but credit to the squads both assembled because for me both City and Liverpool are fantastic to watch and are head and shoulders above the others currently. I dont like the way money runs just about everything in top class sport these days not just football but I dont have a chip on my shoulder about sporting excellence particlarly in the two teams mentioned, just wonderfully entertaing IMO. No chip on my shoulder with the players on show just the structure of the game nowadays.

No need to be insulting old bean. Yes, Man U indeed. Your first team as I recall you saying in the past. Well, certainly the way you talked about them.
August 19, 2022 at 8:29 pm #242961If you do recall that you must tell me on which post Deerey, Scunny will always be first and foremost, but man u have been my 1st division team since 69 guess I must have been a glory hunter then, and Celtic were and are my Scottish team even though I’m protestant to young and innocent to understand in them days. And what’s wrong with a few insults? if you act dense I will tell you take it as a lesson learned.q I’ve had quite a few insults in my time on here I’m sure you will have seen but I guess some people like you will be snowflakes while others won’t be.
August 19, 2022 at 8:30 pm #242962I did mention Man Utd specifically, I did not ‘allude’ to anyone. And for the record they are my second favourite team.
I do see parallels between the two clubs, but only scant. If we could go out and buy a top DCM, I doubt Iron fans would be moaning about the fact that he is 30 years old. But that is the premiership for ya! Doesn’t matter if it is Utd, Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Arsenal or Spurs. So many plastic ‘fans,’ so many self entitled Karens. In fact I preferred United when Big Ron was in charge. Because of Fergie too many kids walking round Brighton in red and white. Not me, I preferred claret & blue.

August 19, 2022 at 8:46 pm #242964Sorry for that LK you were specific, my favourite was Tommy Docherty relegation div2 and all. Then ended up with Sexton not sex how dreary a Wilcox Cox and Hill rolled into one Imo.
August 19, 2022 at 8:54 pm #242965I’m sure at some point in the future you’ll both be proud again that Man U are your top tier and second favourite team. Suppose I’m a little bitter recalling so many Man U and Leeds scarves at school and getting ridiculed for wearing a Scunny scarf because they were the only team that mattered. Still, what did I know? Bit dense me.

I can see a Man U fan therapy group forming.
August 19, 2022 at 8:58 pm #242967Tommy Docherty, sacked for shagging the physio’a wife. Didn’t he beat Liverpool in the FA Cup final? Lol.
We left Manchester 69/70 when they closed the steelworks in Irlam. Dad was on the blast furnace there. We came to Scunny and he got groovy jobs on the Anchor Site then the Pit Arch Plant.
So I support two teams, but it’s The Iron first.
August 20, 2022 at 8:50 am #242991And there’s nothing wrong in that LK, when I was at school I wore a red and white scarf for Scunny and man utd the red shirt did for both clubs no badges in them days bought from Suggs anyone remember them, I had you down as much older than you are Deerey (not ment as an insult) just how I pictured you.
August 20, 2022 at 10:29 am #242999Because of Fergie too many kids walking round Brighton in red and white. Not me, I preferred claret & blue.

Was that because you put your Man Utd shirt in a hot wash with your jeans?
August 20, 2022 at 11:50 am #243007I remember Suggs, didn’t he sell up and join Madness 🤔

August 20, 2022 at 12:53 pm #243010Oh Deerey,Deerey, Deerey me, you lickle liar you were watching Scunny in the 70s, are you for real, we played in blue and white from 60/69 then red and white till 82. Wearing a claret and blue scarf at school, knew you were lying about all the rest of the shite you came out with, the food at non lge grounds not forgetting your man utd season ticket holders mates who live in Manchester there where others I can’t remember, don’t let me go through all your posts to remind you.
August 20, 2022 at 12:55 pm #243011Unless you were that dense and had a 30 year Schooling lol🙊🙉🙈
August 20, 2022 at 1:35 pm #243013If I remember correctly we wore red shirts and shorts back in the 1970’s, much more like Liverpool than Man U.
Living on Jackson Road, I was so close I could hear the noise coming out of the OSG from the reserve matches.
Happy days…

Are you drunk? At which point have I said I wore a claret and blue scarf at school?! It was always red and white. So the rest of your abusive post is null and void. Embarrassing

You are drunk aren’t you? The clue is in ’66’, the years was born. School was 1970-83 for me. Always a red and white scarf plus one or two away blue and yellow ones. As you were 🤣🤣
