Take it that wasn’t gloating on the farsley thread Deerey by the happy clappers then, like I pointed out most of it was very childish.
Many of us would love to join you,but the team need to put in a consistent run before we can I’m afraid and it ain’t happening at the moment of which you can’t fail to see.2 users thanked author for this post.
November 3, 2024 at 2:54 pm #292855We had watched Radcliffe, we knew what to expect but still couldn’t/didn’t deal with it. We allowed them to play to their strengths and ignored ours. We have no midfield muscle to deal with this kind of opponent, midfield bruiser (not Evans) instead of a CB required, possibly alongside Brogan if the opposition merits it.

Think it was mostly a response to the OTT doom and gloom from some others prior, which wasn’t exactly balanced.
Also, it’s funny to hear talk of ‘happy clappers’ directed at those who were accused of being too negative when Hilton was wrecking the club.
November 3, 2024 at 3:25 pm #292859Wasn’t an accusation You were to negative.
November 3, 2024 at 3:27 pm #292860Aye, the club nearly died, we had nothing to be worried about. It’s not like a poor performance against Radcliffe or having a CEO.
November 3, 2024 at 3:30 pm #292861Have we got a new CEO?
November 3, 2024 at 4:02 pm #292863Luckily we’re still in pole position.
With two thirds of the season still to go, we can recruit, regroup, reorganise and stamp our authority on the league.3 users thanked author for this post.

I’d go Beestin and Brogan personally as both have that bit of steel about them. Brogan’s not exactly small and hardly get’s shrugged off the ball when he comes on.
Clunan’s fine in games when we’re on top, but other than that it’s a struggle

Of course awaywego, though I should point out for the benefit of 414, I didn’t see the game yesterday (made that quite clear earlier in the day). I did v Farsley which is why I was noisier about that game than one I didn’t actually watch.

With two thirds of the season still to go, we can recruit, regroup, reorganise and stamp our authority on the league. We’ve already had 3 months to do all those things. We’ve stamped our authority on the league far less often than we should have and done b….. all about the first 3. How much longer do we wait?

November 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm #292872We are too busy defending as a team, to attack as a team. That usually only happens between minutes 50-70
In some divisions this would see us up in second or third spot, in this division it will ultimately mean failure, again. It is noticeable how every time we break it’s very hard, because there are few players further up to make forward passes to.

November 3, 2024 at 7:54 pm #292874I think the posts deleted had less to do with ‘wrong opinions’ and more to do with perceived insulting posts with language seen as beyond the limit, even if some of it was because of innocent mishaps. For example, IFA used a word that is insulting, probably through predictive text since it was out of place, and it got deleted as a result.
Duly noted Siderite and I agree that such posts should be removed. What I was really referring to though, wasn’t the deletion itself, but the subsequent follow up;
‘Can you try and refrain from submitting a genuinely abusive post today, so we don’t have to delete another post of yours please? That would be appreciated. Meds drinking or not.’
A bit patronising, condescending and uppity for me.
Add to that the (rather premature) gloating and incessant squabbling with other posters, and as another member recently pointed out, we’re getting close to the realms of ‘t’other side’.

Absolutely. We can complain til we’re blue in the face about sideward and backwards passing, but if there’s nobody up the pitch to pass to then what are we good for? The formation is the problem, specifically the lack of wingers.

November 3, 2024 at 8:11 pm #292876must be me that only remembers the 2.5k crowds as a league club.
Back then our model wasn’t based on sustainability so perhaps the additional ticket sale revenue was less important. Under the current stewardship I’m certain the 500 less ticket sales vs the last Saturday at GP will be missed.
November 3, 2024 at 8:50 pm #292877I’m not saying some supporters want us to fail, but some may take some consolation in saying ‘I told you so’ if we do. Put the blame at Butler’s door all you like (some are doing), he can’t stop players sideways passing and doing u turns on the half way line and the like. Radcliffe’s game plan worked, ours didn’t. Improvements needed. The time for a new Midfielder and Forward is pressing.
Alas, you didn’t hesitate to do the same on Tuesday night? Foolishly premature perhaps? As only one game later normal service resumes; Butlerball is back and we return to boring the arses off the home fans at GP.
I count 2.5 good performances (kiddy, farsley and 45 mins V Rushall) in 18 games. It’s going to take a string wins INCLUDING good performances for most to be convinced, not one game, however large the scoreline.
The backwards and sideways passing comes from having limited options up the field to pass to and reason for that is the formation. 5 at the back, no wingers etc so absolutely, thats on the manager.
One thing we can agree on is the need for new faces. But of the 7 Butler has so far brought in there’s not one that’s an improvement on what we already had. Why are we so sure that, when shopping in an even small pool (mid-season), he will be able to identify someone suitable?

We wasn’t throwing money around then either. Cup Runs and the sale of our best players balanced the books.
