Go smash them too!
October 30, 2024 at 3:32 am #292560They’re so bad.
October 30, 2024 at 8:47 am #292565October 31, 2024 at 5:00 am #292629The 2023–24 season saw Radcliffe crowned champions of the Northern Premier League Premier Division, earning promotion to the National League North for the first time in the club’s history.
They’ve kept a clean sheet on just two occasions this season.
They’ve shipped 3 goals on 5 occasions this season.
Also shipping 2 goals five times.
They concede a lot of goals late in games (75+ mins)They are there for the taking and we should be able to better their most number of goals conceded this season (Spennymoor 4)
We should be looking at scoring 4, 5 or 6 against these.
October 31, 2024 at 8:28 am #292631We must not treat them with contempt, need to be 100% professional.
Their management team are I believe the ones who guided Salford towards the league. They are a principled pair and very experienced at this level. They have a difficult job but they will never quit so we must remember this.

October 31, 2024 at 11:23 am #292635Don’t want to sound negative but I’m always a little wary after a big win that the team lack a little respect for the opposition and subsequently don’t follow up with a similar performance. I’m with SanFran in that they need to be respected, they’ve come a long way and have a well seasoned management team. I’ll be happy with the continuity of a win and not expect another high score as being nailed on.

October 31, 2024 at 11:53 am #292636On paper this fixture has comfortable home win written all over it however, I have supported Scunthorpe United for too long to write off the opposition before we even kick a ball. We have more than enough in the squad to get the 3 points, and a few goals. I expect that Radcliffe will be in damage limitation mode, and will likely park the bus and try to frustrate us at every opportunity.
All that said, I’m still going for a comfortable 3-0 home win.

October 31, 2024 at 1:00 pm #292638IMO , This will be closer than many are thinking .. HOPEFULLY a tight 2-1 scunny win or at worst a 1-1 draw the likeliest outcomes.
October 31, 2024 at 1:35 pm #292639‘We should be looking at scoring 4, 5 or 6 against these.’
This is folly. Like many teams in this league, they will be desperate to beat us and may well set up not to concede, get a draw, etc. It will all depend how both teams are set up / game plan, approach, in time decision making etc. We shouldn’t be expecting to thrash anyone. Hoping, maybe. Anything else is asking for trouble and the naysayers will be out the wood work before the game is over.
October 31, 2024 at 3:36 pm #292642Couple of decent home results against relegation fodder and the likely lads go from Butler out straight to trying to relaunch HMS P1ss the League.
October 31, 2024 at 6:41 pm #292643Yes, we need to respect Radcliffe FC, their staff, players & supporters.
However, we have to respect our history, our owners and our long(ish) suffering fans.
We need to maximise the euphoria, confidence and belief that will be running through the club after Tuesday’s game.
Let’s try to emulate the two back to back games last season where we dispatched the opposition with six of the best.
If we want to win this league then we need to be ruthless and punish these part time outfits at every opportunity.
A 3-0 outcome should be the expected baseline from this joust. Anything less and we are accepting mundane mediocrity.
I’ve done 4-0, 5-0 and 5-1
Let’s hold high expectations and demand high standards from our squad & staff.
I guess it comes down to how much the staff & players want it… their desire and passion to be winners… to be champions!October 31, 2024 at 7:21 pm #292646New Chairman appointed today:

The notion this current team are anything special on the back of a couple of improved home performances against dross is sheer folly, it always gets fans positivity into overdrive thinking we will smash everyone by 3 , 4 or 5 each outing when in reality we wont … im waiting to see how we get on against KLT , Hereford and Alfreton before i order any champagne (must include the option to return to the vendor such is my confidence in success).
Take a look at over 250 posts on Kev Howz Radcliffe prediction thread on the SUFC FFBP mostly 3 4 n 5 goal Scunny wins apart from a hand full of draws and only ONE chap tipping Radcliffe for a shock away win.
I would love to see a another confidence boosting big home win and for that matter a long run of wins to try n shake off the likes of Curzon and Chorley.

November 1, 2024 at 3:59 am #292652Radcliffe are playing at their highest ever level.
Scunthorpe are playing at our lowest ever level. There will be difficult games this season. This is not one of them.
We need to go in to these sort of games full of confidence & positivity.Yes, high scoring games are a rarity these days… but when the opportunity arises, we must take it.
Buxton notched 7 against Needham Market. The highest number of goals scored in a single game by a team in this league this season. It’s a target.
3-0 is a very common score line in this league.
I’d expect us to dispatch Radcliffe by the same.
I’m hoping that we assert and win by a bigger margin.5pm Saturday and we’ll know.

November 1, 2024 at 7:28 am #292655November 1, 2024 at 8:48 am #292658Radcliffe have won their last 2 away games and including beating Brackley at Brackley , they should not be underestimated.
November 1, 2024 at 9:15 am #292660Interesting to see how they deal with Roberts in the form he’s currently showing, reckon they might get a player sent off on Saturday, he’ll be too good for them. Difficult predicting scores in these games so I’ll sit on the fence score wise and just say a comfortable home win.

November 1, 2024 at 9:46 am #292665Yes but if we pull our WBs deeper and revert to lumping the ball upfield – we shall be able to emulate the dizzy heights of most games in the last six weeks or so.
Play as if we mean it and Radcliffe will be shoved aside.

November 1, 2024 at 10:59 am #292669According to the Radcliffe guy on the Iron hour podcast they wont be intimidated , no way will they come and defend it will be all out attack with each player trying to win their individual battles on the pitch .. so we might be in for a cracker of a game ..
0-0 its is then 5555555
November 1, 2024 at 11:31 am #292670Think we’ll be too strong for them tbh. Home win

November 1, 2024 at 3:30 pm #292684Set up for them to have to deal with us. Good passes forward and pace off the ball will be a good start.

Is it me or as every game comes im concerned about Roberts being targeted by teams who put 2 guys on him and crunch him early much the same as he was sandwiched right on half time recently i think at Southport (intentionally or not).
Hopefully he has fully recovered form all his injury set backs of recent years, still im sure all others teams in this league would love him to be out for a lengthy spell something that would severely damage our promotion hopes.November 2, 2024 at 4:34 am #292690Callum Robert’s Wiki [ Click Here ]
Anyone else think a club higher up the pyramid will come and pluck him from obscurity?
Played and scored in the Prem for Newcastle (wiki page ain’t accurate with his appearances) and was an England U20 international.

Our best player?I believe it was the FA Cup not a Prem goal. Against Blackburn.

November 2, 2024 at 12:01 pm #292698Suppose its to much to ask Butler to play Carlton from the start he needs game time in him. to me this is the ideal game for it, get on the front foot and go for it.
November 2, 2024 at 12:08 pm #292700Not many managers would make changes after a 6-0.
Agree Carlton needs minutes but would probably be a bit harsh on Fish.
More concerned that he plays one of them at Spennymoor and leaves Alfie in midfield. Time to show some intent away from home.

He may do as Whitehall’s fitness might rule him out today, think TBF Carlton is being eased back into the team following a niggly injury but today he could start.
