Can’t believe we let him go last summer – by far the most industrious midfielder & best ball winner at the club. Yes he has his limitations but we need scrappers like him.

A few of us said it at the time but many disagreed

He’s clearly good enough for this level as a squad player… pathetic decision to ship him off!!

To be fair since Dean has come in he’s improved, he’s much more positive now when it comes to getting forward and taking shots on. Limited but he’s more than good enough for this level.

Ha, Ha! that’s not what you were saying when he left! I said at the time Pugh was a good player, unfortunately for him the players around him were not!

Pugh is number 30, who are you all watching?

Put it another way, what parts of his performance did you not enjoy? For me, he was the only one showing any real urgency, putting opponents under pressure, winning balls he would not have been expected to win. Yes he gives away too many fouls but with Butterfield alongside him, that should be a pretty decent central midfield for this division.

He can’t tackle fairly, he can’t pass and he lacks creativity. He runs around a lot but I just don’t rate his overall contribution. I prefer Bunker, Shrimpton, Beestin and Whitehouse in CM. I might even prefer Fewster (based on his reputation) if he ever reappears.

Fair enough Cass, not how I saw it but I can understand why some other options might be better. Watching last night, I thought Beestin was completely anonymous and the fact we had no threat down the right-hand side, combined with Elliott looking anything but a centre forward, really hindered our attack.

Beestin isn’t a winger and Elliot isn’t a lone frontman. Only Dean can sort that out.

Did he just get a 12 month contract when he returned?

No idea but that was embarrassing from him today, absolute madness doing stuff like that.

Ref got that one correct but I thought he and his assistants got a lot of others wrong.

Tom will be gutted with what he did. Can only think he got frustrated with those about him who don’t care.

Even though from Sheffield he loves the club, I have seen him in Academy days have lumps kicked out of him and he has never retaliated.

There was a misogynistic altercation in a bar on a pre-season tour in Spain a few years back.

If he’s only on a one year deal, he’s probably put the boot in on any extension?

Terminate all those that don’t care, don’t try and those that aren’t good enough.

Care to list those that would remain Rene? Shouldn’t take long using those parameters!

Over the last few matches Tom’s been one of very few players to show any sense of pride, passion or fight for our club. Although you can’t condone yesterday’s rush of blood. He let the side down but so did all the non trier’s with their attitudes.

Pugh seems to gain a free pass because he cares a lot. So would I if I was playing.

Good at running around and kicking people but not good enough to be a centre mid i’m afraid.

Yesterday, the total absence of CM could have seen us ship a record number of goals in a single match.

It’s the manner of the performance and defeat that is so disconcerting.

If they’d a Langstaff, a Mullin, they’d have bagged five apiece yesterday.

Very worrying for the remaining games.

There is nothing worrying about the remaining games, we were down months ago, it’s all about next season and we won’t know about that till the retained list, if any, comes out and new faces begin arriving. You are all overthinking things, give your brains a rest and chill out FFS, this season is done.
