Topics: 11Why would Swann after 8 years suddenly decide to fold the club? It makes zero sense except to the doom mongers on here.
If anyone states then why transfer the assets, he COULD have done that on DAY 1 of his ownership and had the land all redeveloped by now.
Also as per the official statement on the clubs website there’s an agreement that the club is protected for 99 years at least.
September 27, 2021 at 12:39 pm #214303There’s zero chance the club will fold.
Is that because you believe everything the chairman says?

Ah yes but your not thinking like a narcissist, first off try to gain a prestige Championship place for a small club, get in debt, sack and blame every manager employed by the club, transfer debt to different company and get tax benefits throughout the group whilst waiting for the end of failed football project and cash in on property owned asset to make money and help clear the debt his incompetence created. Only thing is, club does not own its own ground but it dont matter because club has gone bang, simples but its not his fault remember, narcissists are never to blame, just ask Trump.

But apparently a 5/2 chance it will be non-league come May.

Yes – this club, ‘Scunthorpe United’ have the right to play at Glanford Park for the next 99 years but IF the club ceases to exist, the agreement is irrelevant?

September 27, 2021 at 1:34 pm #214313September 27, 2021 at 1:34 pm #214314Hypothetical, but if the revenue get’s so low that staff can’t be paid and the owner doesn’t give / lend the funds, a club goes in to administration doesn’t it? If a new owner doesn’t come along it folds doesn’t it?

That’s exactly the road we are heading down. Performances on the pitch are almost irrelevant.
We have budgeted for 3-3,500 fans per game and are currently almost missing a third of projected revenue.

September 27, 2021 at 3:15 pm #214323“If a new owner doesn’t come along” Deerey. More on here want Swanny to leave than stay why? If we end up with no club, if that’s the attitude it sure backs my opinion of Scunny fans are the worst.
September 27, 2021 at 3:36 pm #214327Are you going to wish me dead aswell?

September 27, 2021 at 3:39 pm #214328Maybe you’re projecting yourself on to this idea of Scunny fans being the worst? I don’t know.
September 27, 2021 at 3:39 pm #214329Why Deerey what have you done wrong?

The same happened with Blackpool, Portsmouth, Bury, Bolton, Grimsby, Hartlepool, Chesterfield, Wrexham, Chester, Hull and many other clubs who have had unpopular owners. When Scunthorpe fans voice dissatisfaction why does this make them the worst? Wanting owners out is not unique to Scunthorpe.
I appreciate that there will be concerns regarding who would take over, and I have had these in the past, and still do now. However, I don’t see how we’re special in our attitude here.
September 27, 2021 at 3:57 pm #214333BR I think I’m right that many want Swann to leave, and if the cost is no club surely that would make us the worst fans ever, i was just trying to show the irony in it,you’ll not find anywhere that I have said that somebody won’t come along and take over the club, far from it I have reminded poster many a time that Swanny won’t be here forever and shouldn’t stop anyone going to watch Scunny, shite football fair enough but not because of Swanny.
September 27, 2021 at 4:08 pm #214337Ah, I get it now awaywego. You got the mental age of a 15 year old. Explains everything!
September 27, 2021 at 4:25 pm #214343Is that it Deerey, really?.
September 27, 2021 at 4:27 pm #214344September 27, 2021 at 5:02 pm #214348If Swann goes the Club will not last the Season out.
If he stays we are doomed.

September 27, 2021 at 5:23 pm #214349Hardly derailed is it? I’ve made enough points on topic, so’s awaywego.
September 27, 2021 at 5:46 pm #214350I will agree with him on one point though. A meaningful protest that’s going to make much difference is unlikely to happen. As Max Bell pointed out the other week, Iron fans are not known for their militancy. Though I disagree with him that it’s likely to change soon. I expect nothing much more than a few shouts or occasional chants. If there was any hope of it being more than that we’d be seeing more action by now. More and more will just stop going. Most are too apathetic to take action and the majority will just find other ways of spending their money on a Saturday afternoon. That’s not say I’d like to see it stymied. Happy to be proved wrong.

Oh dear something wrong here
September 27, 2021 at 6:58 pm #214352Yes there is. It’s a reference to awaywego wishing BS dead in another post. Keep up or jog on. And stay on topic. It upsets other posters more than what’s been happening to the club for years and years. The majority on here were happy clapping and mocking and scorning the likes of Alcy and Fansy for speaking out until recently. In terms of the likelihood of a meaningful protest happening that should tell everyone what they need to know.
Oh, and now do one, irritant.

September 27, 2021 at 7:06 pm #214354Yeah a protest will really help the players win won’t it.
You lot really are thick as…
You are one annoying arse hole.

September 27, 2021 at 7:10 pm #214355Watch us die like Chesterfield, Grimsby, Southend, Notts County, Wrexham, Stockport, Torquay etc?
If you don’t like the English football pyramid go support a franchise league.
Yoiu are one annoying twat, how Scunny fans can read the arse licking shitye that you print 100%, not even 99% of the time without feeling like ringing your neck, or at least letting you know what an annoying prick you are is beyond me.

September 27, 2021 at 7:22 pm #214356None of our anger should be directed towards the management/players. Cox is a decent bloke who will be hurting as much as us; he appears well out of his depth but that’s not his fault. Nor the players who are clearly trying, but again, just not league standard.
A protest has to be a United from amongst the little supporters there are left. Organised for a certain time and promoted by those with a decent reach on social media The iron bru podcast, Iron trust, max bell etc. Momentum will build if it appears enough are interested.
Personally, I’ve had enough of the laughing stock we’ve become. A non league stint will hurt but it’s always inevitable when you are one of the smaller clubs in the football league, I can live with that. I can’t stand the fact we’ve had our assets stripped for a debt incurred by an egomaniacs spending spree.
SWANN OUT
Cliff— as you insist in telling us, Neil might be the nicest guy about, no one is saying that he isn’t, but when you say that he must be hurting with things, “he sure can take a real lot of pain” without doing the slightest to stop it. So lets all agree that Neil is a really nice top class guy, we all agree to that!!, but then lots all agree that after his terrible record at Scunny, he just isn’t ever going to be a football manager, just missed relegation from league 2 after a full last season in charge, and again his team is sitting bottom of league 2 once again, and he is in chasrge of SUFC that has won ONE MATCH IN THE PAST NINETEEN GAMES!!
Do you agree with this Cliff, or will you be happy next May to say “we have had a bloody terrible boring season ending with non-league status, but our manager is a really nice guy”, JUST AN HONEST ANSWER FROM YOU CLIFF!!!!

September 27, 2021 at 7:26 pm #214357You’ve not bothered reading my post Barton. At No point did I say I want Cox as manager, he’s not up to it.
September 27, 2021 at 7:51 pm #214358At least I was only wishing BS dead,he is advocating murdering UTI, Ps who’s stopped mocking and scorning Alcy and fansy, and as for Max Bell he said the fans are still behind Cox, your losing the plot Deerey if your siding with them. The mods have disappeared too nothing been done about all the abuse on here.
