So you’re planning a little walk to ‘protest’ against a man who won’t even be there, who is trying to sell the club like you all want. Makes ZERO sense.

April 8, 2022 at 12:59 pm #235177Unfortunately I won’t be at the match as I’m busy doing coach type stuff this weekend. It will be interesting to see what sort of protest does emerge, how many actually protest, and how many of those end up being handcuffed by the stewards.
I feel that lower league clubs are at a high risk status of poor ownership, and fans of the clubs should all support each other to campaign for better governance of owners. If we want a protest that has more voice we should be reaching out to the away fans too. Imagine just how much Swann’s jowls will wobble if he sees images of fans protesting at four sides of the ground.

April 8, 2022 at 1:19 pm #235180Are you expecting Mansfield fans to join in Daz? :-)
April 8, 2022 at 1:28 pm #235181It would be good, although I don’t think it would happen.

April 8, 2022 at 2:07 pm #235185Daz if any protesters get handcuffed by stewards tomorrow it could turn into a riot, particlarly as the stewards would be going against the wishes of the football club with such a provocative action. Just to remind the people currently passing themselves off as matchday stewards at Scunthorpe United, the club pay your wages through the contract with your employer, you had better do what the club requests, or face the consequences.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHH, we’d better abandon any planned protest then in case it jeopardises any potential sale. Will the current owner be there to begin negotiations?

Hmm, now where have I read that already today? Kind of…
All eyes on the exec box tomorrow!

April 8, 2022 at 3:16 pm #235192Lee got a nice little pun in his statement there, a few spewy clichés as well, guess your all convinced and won’t be protesting now?

April 8, 2022 at 3:42 pm #235196I think you are well aware any and all protests are aimed at the current owner.
Don’t see why it would bother a potential new owner. Might distract them from noticing how bad the team is that they will inherit should they go ahead.

Full focus should be on supporting the team, creating a good atmosphere that impresses the guys/girls in the directors box.

April 8, 2022 at 3:54 pm #235198Freedom of expression and the right to protest. Potential new owners might actually appreciate a section of fans not being so apathetic. Surely they’re not that naive to think Swann wants to sell because everything in the garden is rosy? They might look around and think ‘f*** me, a complete imbecile could run this better!’

Potential new owners sitting in the stand tomorrow looking round thinking, ” what a shit hole, bet the current owner isn’t in the hotel business “, oh wait.

April 8, 2022 at 4:08 pm #235201I can understand an Iron supporter might think it’s a waste of time and detrimental to protest, but I can’t understand one that so doggedly tries to undermine it as UTI99. Unless…

Full focus should be on supporting the team, creating a good atmosphere that impresses the guys/girls in the directors box.But it’s OK for the owner not to give his “full focus” supporting his team or entertain prospective buyers? Doesn’t encourage fans support and I doubt it will impress the guests. One law for the rich and a different one for those of us who’ll still be here in the coming years. You really do have some strange ideas.

April 8, 2022 at 4:29 pm #235203The potential new owners may be more concerned with the fact that the stand opposite them will be be almost completely empty come kick off time and wondering wtf has occurred with the incumbent regime to make that happen.

April 8, 2022 at 4:37 pm #235204Why are you banging on about’new owners’on here. There aren’t any new owners, who would invest money in SUFC without any assets. We don’t even have any players worth any money, they’ve been sold off,. Wake up and smell the coffee, normal service will resume next season, hopefully with a mid-table finish

April 8, 2022 at 5:23 pm #235205A good peaceful protest should help any potential new owners realise the fans are desperate for the disastrous swann era to end and the new owners will receive the full backing of the fans.

April 8, 2022 at 5:42 pm #235206There’s 500 Mansfield fans in the stand opposite so it won’t look to bad + Ironawe.
April 8, 2022 at 6:05 pm #235207Won’t be there as I’m away but I wouldn’t protest as I support the club and the badge not the owner and chairman who has said he will sell the club publicly for the first time
April 8, 2022 at 7:34 pm #235210Full focus should be on supporting the team, creating a good atmosphere that impresses the guys/girls in the directors box.
We tried that for years and got shat upon!

a protest tomorrow could completely kill any deal and certainly won’t help.

April 9, 2022 at 7:56 am #235218It would be an entirely predictable response from the Swann camp to say fan protest scuppers potential new owners. Or that, should no protests take place, they have withdrawn interest without formally submitting one.
It’s convenient either way.
I stand to be corrected but we’ve been here before.
I will say I did like LT statement, whatever constraints he is working under he has the club at heart.
April 9, 2022 at 8:28 am #235219Or he’s sucking up to his boss IA just like Hill and Simon Elliot did.
