Playing at Quibell Park, in the NCEL (Northern Counties East League) attracting crowds of 400, looking up the fixtures in June for Barton, Botty and Winterton.
Driving past the Glanford estate of non-affordable 3-4-5 bedroom detached houses, wondering how Ernest got a knighthood? how nobody spotted that the council leader was a ‘whimsy’ and hoping a true Scunthonian Iron fan wins the £200 Euro-millions jackpot.
Shuffling home on a walking stick to empty ones piss bag and realising it was empty cos someone had taken it years ago! The piss that is!
Your taking the piss now mate.

A few have been taking it for years and nobody knew. Or even kin cared.
League 2 playoffs 2022/23.
National League playoffs 2022/23.
Have you worked out how the NL playoff system operates Bobby?
A bit of a conundrum for sure!
4 play at home to 7, 5 play at home to 6. Lowest remaining team go to 2, other team goes to 3. Winners play off at Wembley. All one off games. I think. Unfortunately this still gives the Cods a chance. If we get relegated I think we should push for three up, three down, it’s long overdue…
How many teams are relegated every season from the National League?
I think you have got to the heart of the issue Deery.
Bottom 3 go down and I think you have to better a point a game to scrape above the bottom 3 so we are probably in trouble.
There’s a hell of a lot of long trips down south in that division too. You’d have to hope Carlisle or Oldham come down with us because either would be one of our nearest home games next season. Assuming at least one of Stockport & Chesterfield go up, the only other teams within a 1-2 hour drive would be Grimsby, Notts County & Halifax. Otherwise, it’s all long trips.
4 go down from the national LGE normally.
I thought that too AWG – only 3 this season but I assume that’s an adjustment after one of the clubs dropping out during Covid?
How it works after that I dont know, probably the 2 most southerly go into the southern, think only Halifax are more northern at the moment. I remember playing Shrewsbury in the northern section of the lge cup back in the day.
Gloucester City are in National League North, which tells you a lot!
They were switched from the southern to the northern along with Oxford city, because 4 teams relegated from the National league went in to the Nl southern in 2019, puts my theory of 2 going into each lge down the swanny. It was decided on rock paper scissors (well they may as well have done).
