February 24, 2023 at 8:01 pm #256128Would imagine training with 1st team as part of his development. Don’t rush him, his coaches will have the path mapped.
February 24, 2023 at 8:04 pm #256129When Bryan Robson was a young apprentice at West Brom his landlady at his digs was under instruction to serve him a bottle of stout ( Mackeson I believe ) every night when she dished up his evening meal and told to stay there till he drunk it. Don’t think Robson liked the taste but he had to drink it and look how he ended up.

He developed quite a taste for alcohol, small beginnings.

Matty Lund scored twice for Salford
Harry Lewis scored twice late on for Gainsboro
Devarn Green scored the winner for Oldham
Mcatee scored for the Cods
My Gran scored once in a bus shelter in Gunness.. though sill denies it and so does the local vicar. Most certainly need a goalscorer that can rattle a few in .. im hoping Elliot is that guy once he gets off the mark , hopefully Tuesday night.

Smashing old dear i used to get her a bottle of her favourite tipple Old Tom and a bag of Werthers originals as a treat if i had enough shillings left over from my paper round and bobbajobbing cash.
Im sure the prison guards used to steal them though

We’re not looking for Poulter to shine in the Champions League like ‘our Wayne’ – just the NL.
Big Gez & Poulter up front?
March 2, 2023 at 6:34 am #256458n 18 year old Rooney bagged a hat trick on his Man Utd debut.
And scored at 16 against Arsenal I think it was. Michael Owen was lightweight all his career and it didn’t affect his ability to score goals, put a big and nasty along side him to do the dirty work and it doesn’t matter how big he is.
As a legendary Manager once said, if they are good enough they are big enough.

Minutes per goal = 666.Others have scored more but have moved on or have only just joined us, scoring their goals elsewhere.
FOUR!
Give the young un the rest of the season.
We’ve nowt to lose!

March 2, 2023 at 8:01 pm #256503Still come back to my original point, Dean won’t play Big Gez with Elliot so no way on earth he’s going to play Poulter. I highly doubt he’ll even go 4/4/2 this weekend.
Nelson opted for two up top while he was in charge but Dean appears dead set against it.
March 3, 2023 at 8:58 am #256509This argument now seems moot.
March 3, 2023 at 9:33 am #256513Don’t forget we also have Carver to come b….. – no, never mind.
March 3, 2023 at 8:19 pm #256537Carver is dog mess. I would put him in the Tyrone O’Neil bracket.

The OWS states he scored again today, away at Mansfield.
Let’s keep overlooking this prolific goal (+) a game striker at our peril.March 18, 2023 at 10:55 am #257577Let’s see what Jimmy’s mix-and-match approach throws up on today’s team sheet.
March 18, 2023 at 10:59 am #257578ive given up trying to predict Jimmys starting line up … not sure anyone at the club can get close as well… dare i say ..pin the tail on a donkey !!

March 23, 2023 at 9:43 pm #257844Poulter does need a stink in men’s football and to beef up a bit. Scoring ability in the youth’s is akin to Godden’s. No doubt he has a lot of ability.

Poulter got on in the 69th minute, scoring (84th minute) on his debut.
Fifteen minutes to ‘settle in’ there then!
Poulter’s well taken goal starts at about 10min 15sec.
March 26, 2023 at 8:47 pm #257995As said above there’s no doubting his ability to score goals. As said many years ago about Godden, Poulter is without any shadow of a doubt “while it’s not saying much about who’s here at the minute” the best finisher at the club.
Tyrell sellers is talented too. We have a number of talented youngsters. I really like Jack Moore-Billam so it all depends on whether Dean knows how to handle young players and getting the right experienced players around them so they progress.
