If you start bringing loan players in upsets the apple cart, end up same as last season

June 26, 2022 at 10:28 am #239447Maybe you could try and take Shaun Pearson on loan,he will be 6th choice cb for us but is more than good enough for NL him and Boyce would be a solid CB pairing. Whitehouse is a decent player to if you are in for him
Are you taking the piss now Rich? 6th choice???? Cheers mate! And everyone knows about Paul Whitehouse’s dodgy ticker. No thanks!
June 26, 2022 at 10:30 am #239448It’s more the fact that we rarely bring in anything other than untried youngsters. Guesswork.
If we have the possibility of more experience arriving – that’s okay with me if:
they start off being fit; they have a good history as giving close to 100%; they are maybe considering a transfer at a later point. Also, they need to be watched as they circle in the paddock to ensure that: fetlocks are in order; eyes are bright; withers supple and are able to trot, canter and accelerate.

June 26, 2022 at 11:03 am #239451We should not be worrying about loanees, hill build has been on going for many months now.Ever since he could not manage the players he had at his disposal, and gave up on the league.I’m sure many building blocks have been laid, but the mortar maybe not the right mix.

Like Myles Hippolyte?
June 26, 2022 at 11:46 am #239457and he has just signed a new contract and playing in league 2 next season, Hippolyte was used as a wing back under Cox and he is better as a winger, we certainly missed him after he left.

We need players who have talent.

June 26, 2022 at 12:19 pm #239460All excellent young players uti, who fitted nicely into a well balanced squad with an experienced spine and experienced players on the bench. We need experienced players then the talented younger ones can fit in better.

June 26, 2022 at 1:02 pm #239461Understand we have ended interest in someone called Bale !
He has opted to go to america.
June 26, 2022 at 1:39 pm #239462He wouldn’t have fitted in.
June 26, 2022 at 1:43 pm #239463Correct. Welsh language takes some understanding
June 26, 2022 at 1:43 pm #239464We certainly had a few potential signings bale-out!
The thing about the players UTI99 lists is that they were physically strong at 19/20.
Apart from Gallimore some our teenagers look like they’re in need of feeding up.
The season will be a tough old slog. No place for lightweights.

June 26, 2022 at 1:44 pm #239465Joe Dodoo 26 year old forward release from Donny by mutual consent. Would be ideal for us with us being right in the doo doo.

June 26, 2022 at 3:10 pm #239470What we need and what we’ll get are two different things. The club is working on a self sufficient budget based (reputedly) on crowds of 2000. Don’t waste time looking at EFL players, they’re out of our reach.

If our ‘self sufficient’ budget was based on an achievable 3000 it would make a massive difference to our chances.
I’ll get shot down by those who are more bothered about who the ‘stay away/want away’ owner is though.
Facts are facts though. If we’d sold 2000 season tickets Hills budget WOULD increase!

Just out of interest who told you that?

June 26, 2022 at 4:49 pm #239477We sold better than expected season tickets – and apart from Boyce all we have is some building work starting, funny that.

Maybe the builders can double up as players. Should be able to build a solid defensive wall, like footballers they usually start at 10 am, known to make the odd dribble here and there, and when you ask where the gaffer is they usually pass. Friday afternoons just after 1 pm they shoot off at will without a care in the world.

June 26, 2022 at 10:21 pm #239493When I was in the building trade Saturdays was always job and knock.
June 27, 2022 at 10:38 pm #239535I listened to the Swann interview on here it seemed more of a threat to the fans that the only way you would be able to compete was if you average 3k…… Pretty lame really when you have teams with 1k attendances doing very well in the NL.
As for Shaun – he would do a good job no doubts :reliable, solid and physical all the things you need in that league better than Boyce no doubts
June 27, 2022 at 10:42 pm #239536For context a baseline average of 2500 would put you 10th in last seasons NL attendance table above the likes of Halifax, Bromley and Dagenham who were all more than competitive.
June 27, 2022 at 11:06 pm #239539Which teams are doing very well on 1k average attendance Rich?
June 28, 2022 at 9:58 am #239544Good to see footage of Keith leading the under 18s training session yesterday. When does the first team start back? And can we expect yet another new signing today?

June 28, 2022 at 10:05 am #239545If we sign one of the triallists we could line up with:-
Foster
Rowe Boyce Taft Ntlhe
Feeney Beestin Gallimore/Cribb/Moore-Billam O’Malley
Hallam Nuttall
Not great and little in the way of backup apart from youths.
Add to that the recent fitness record of Taft, Ntlhe, Beestin, O’Malley and Hallam and it could mean that fans arriving early would be advised to take boots.June 28, 2022 at 10:28 am #239546Are the triallists names kept a secret,or is it because nobody has heard of them!

Hi, can you explain how Morecambe, Shrewsbury & Accrington are all two divisions above us now please? Thank you.

Topics: 11Where did I mention anything about an increased budget guaranteeing we would get promotion? I said it would improve our chances, as a general rule of thumb teams with higher attendances (budgets) are in higher divisions. Obviously there are exceptions like us when we had a few seasons in the championship.
June 28, 2022 at 2:53 pm #239553Boreham Wood did well and had a great cup run, Dagenham very close to a play off spot and Wealdstone and Maidenhead held there own – I was more trying to make the point that lower attendances and lower budgets don’t always necessarily mean its an excuse to not do well /sign decent players which I fear for you Swann is using it as
