September 14, 2022 at 4:41 pm #244934How time fly’s in Liverpool I timed their minutes silence at 26seconds, lol
September 14, 2022 at 5:36 pm #244938At our match last night they had a minutes silence*, impeccably observed, then played the national anthem. They asked for everyone to take their seats by 7-35, I stayed on the concourse until the end of the anthem, and I wasn’t alone. Any Scouse shouters should have done the same, but like I did keep quiet.
No truth in the rumour they also had one post match. 😜

September 14, 2022 at 5:39 pm #244939Lol awaywego, you were watching the Liverpool match? Yeah, right! Parroting what you’ve read in the paper more like. It never was announced as a minute’s silence’, it was ‘a moment’s silence!’ For anyone interested in the truth try this:
Liverpool will be dismayed after ‘nervous’ referee forced to ‘abandon’ silence against Ajax
September 14, 2022 at 8:20 pm #244950Ooh, how time flies in Manchester. I just timed City’s moments silence at less than 30 seconds, lol.
In fact, I can’t recall the last time a supposed minute or moments silence lasted the full 60 seconds at any sporting occasion I’ve attended in the fairly recent past (pre-Covid mainly of course).
September 15, 2022 at 6:18 am #244958Scunthorpe v Hartlepool Deerey reading of the names must have took a couple of minutes then a minutes silence impeccably observed and that with 2000 away fans in attendance. Respect. And to think how many times we have had a minutes silence for Hillsborough. Yes a minute not 26 seconds lol.
September 15, 2022 at 7:31 am #244959Maybe so, I wasn’t at that game. The point is your tiresome stereotyping of Liverpool fans, fuelled by the right wing press, doesn’t stand up to facts and comparisons with how other Premiership club’s are approaching the minute or moments silence.

September 15, 2022 at 12:13 pm #244969That was convenient Deerey,my so called stereotyping is born out of reality I’ve seen down the years, Been told how good Liverpool fans were by Harry Carpenter on sportsnight clapping the opposing team off, when your with them a totally different story nasty bastard’s, Till Hillsborough the kop was an open toilet, piss flowed down the terraces but of course they where exonerated of pissing in people’s gardens in leppings lane they wouldn’t do that kind of thing but a drink ban bought in when travelling to footy all the same, the European ban after heysel the all seater stadium’s after Hillsborough just look at our away end and ask yourself why? nearly every match all ticket now even in non lge for f sake, stereotyping what bloody stereotyping.

September 15, 2022 at 12:32 pm #244972All ticket games are a progression in society and less cash is being used these days, plus the recent pandemic has forced a lot of these issues about cash on match days not being used. Not sure what that has got to do with Liverpool fans TBH and Liverpool fanbase will have its fair share of arseholes as does The Iron and every club you care to mention. Has everybody forgotten the terrible hooligan following surrounding Man U back in the 1970’s?, I havent, nearly every away game for a couple of seasons their matches were in the media for all the wrong reasons surrounding their travelling fans. Some football fans of most clubs have never been angels but let’s not make it just about one club, that would be hypocrisy of the highest order.

September 15, 2022 at 1:28 pm #244976Too true, IA. United in the 70s, along with Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Millwall, Celtic and Rangers… in fact almost any club with a sizable following had problem. As for peeing on the terraces, when you’re in the middle of a stand packed like sardines surrounded by maybe 15000 others, taking a toilet break wasn’t really an option if you wanted to get back to your spec. In many cases fans were treated like animals, so it’s no surprise that’s how they behaved.

September 15, 2022 at 2:27 pm #244977“In many cases fans were treated like animals”. In your evolutionary worldview we are just animals. In your worldview why should animals be treated with respect?
The reason is your stealing from the Christian world view to make sense of your idea of respect and dignity etc!September 15, 2022 at 2:41 pm #244978It’s telling of your morality if you don’t think animals should be treated with respect. It doesn’t exactly sell Christianity to me if you think being an animal means it’s acceptable to disrespect or abuse them.
September 15, 2022 at 2:43 pm #244979You’ve explained it well enough I-A and Gurny without me having to explain to him. Thanks. Only thing I’d add is, funnily enough, they used to talk about the Stretford End being a toilet, but awaywego can conveniently forget that one! Yes, stereotyping, it’s what you’re doing, and does football fans in general no good whatsoever, despite people like you scapegoating Liverpool fans.
As for being convenient about not attending that match awaywego – hardly – unless you think I’ve ever said I’ve attended nearly every home match in recent years?
September 15, 2022 at 2:47 pm #244980‘In your evolutionary worldview we are just animals’. Bet that’s not what he thinks bpg. Besides, ‘being treated like animals’ is as much a turn of phrase as anything else.

The reason is your stealing from the Christian world view to make sense of your idea of respect and dignity etc!In your worldview all the animals were on Noah’s Ark. Odd that when they got off the polar bears headed north to the Artic, not stopping anywhere en route, kangaroos went south, again not stopping anywhere en route, bisons headed west… 🙄💩🤭

September 15, 2022 at 4:51 pm #244991The two Unicorns headed off with the Polar bears as they promised them a great new life with them all living together in peace. Provided a nice little snack for the Polar bears on their long journey North.

September 15, 2022 at 5:42 pm #244999And the penguins went south to the south pole. Had they headed north too, they would have been bipolar – an evolutionary first in terms of temperament!

September 15, 2022 at 6:24 pm #245003Obviously never went in the Stretford end Deerey no piss flowing down the terraces there, went to most midland and northern 1st div grounds in the 70/80s the Kop was the only place where I saw it, of course everyone had an hooligan problem but unlike Liverpool, fans didn’t cause the deaths of 39 Italians or the Hillsborough disaster 97, after Hillsborough all seater stadiums and all ticket games started to the detriment of fans,I believe it’s Torquay where you can’t buy tickets on the day of the game, progress my arse, so yes let’s single out Liverpool fans for all their antic’s.
September 15, 2022 at 6:52 pm #245004Funny how of all the terrible and myopic aspects of your string of anti Liverpool posts that have irritated me, Awaywego … it’s the use of an apostrophe in ‘antic’s’ when it’s clearly a simple plural that has really got my goat.
