Topics: 100I’m expecting the weekends fixtures to be postponed.
“The Premier League is set to announce plans for this weekend’s fixtures on Friday morning, following the Queen’s death.
Representatives from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport[DCMS] are due to speak on a call with leaders from across sport first thing on Friday and offer guidance over how to proceed while the country mourns the Queen’s passing at Balmoral on Thursday afternoon.”
September 9, 2022 at 9:12 am #244697Should give Hallam and Ntlhe an extra week to recover.

Could you imagine what damage they could do to themselves, even in a free week ?
The pair of those could probably dislocate their shoulders getting a bottle of Tomato Sauce out of the fridge. Their hanging on by a thread lol

September 10, 2022 at 10:14 am #244722Another weekend at the bottom.
Postponed or not Cass, it makes no difference really, if played we would still have been bottom mate, possibly even more behind other teams down there, and with Liquidation pending, the question is “will Scunny have enough points to cover the 12 point deduction at the end of the season, presently they have 3 points from a possible 21 !!!!!, this is really sad and pathetic the way Swann has guided our once loved little team to land up in this position, he must be the most hated person to ever have been connected to any football team.

Is it really looking that imminent?September 10, 2022 at 5:28 pm #244747Administration is being mentioned more and more on here.
Is it really looking that imminent? If there is no takeover on the horizon- which is looking more likely by the day- what other outcome is there ?
If crowds continue to fall- which they will- Swann is either going to lose the means or the will to cover the losses.
I’ve seen rumours we are losing 90k a month which is being covered by Swann, how true that is I don’t know; that is also a contradiction to what he has stated previously about us being sustainable this year.
Neil Wright and the Iron trust must read this board. It would be appreciated if there could be some dialogue over these issues.
To be blunt: at the moment we are coasting into the oblivion and it feels like no-one really gives a fuck anymore.
For the first time I’m wondering if a phoneix club is going to be the best solution overall, and it hurts to say that. The current scenario is soul destroying and I’d rather be watching competitive football in the North East counties- with supporters enjoying themselves- then this current set up.

September 10, 2022 at 6:16 pm #244752Heard the rerun of the Prawns latest interview about the collapse of the recent ” club sale ” on Humberside this afternoon. He does sound increasingly cranky when pushed on certain aspects of new potential buyers, does not sound good guys at all, prepare to be shafted one last time.

September 10, 2022 at 7:14 pm #244759Administration of is getting into more and more threads isn’t it exiting, the mods should be pushing Matt to have a podcast about it maybe asking one how it all works, Has Swann ever said anything about administration? Lol.

The sport of kings. The playing fields of Eton. The gentlemen of the MCC. Blah, blah!
Association Football, the home of lefty republicans and anti-royals? It would seem so wouldn’t it?
(Apart from Engerland games obviously!)

“Shit happens” we’re his words.
We may have to look out for a non-Royalist tank emptier.

Well I’ve been following the Test Match. Newcastle Falcons lost to Quins 31-40 in what sounded a cracking game yesterday and they’re running the St Ledger today. So not sure what fake news you’re talking about?
September 11, 2022 at 9:41 pm #244814they could just pretend it’s cancelled and give all the right nutters a chance to pretend to grieve and ratttle on about taking the knee for the right reason etc and just continue for normal people ,who don’t follow the sheeple crowd and enforced national mourning and pretend grief, to watch the game. The right then get their wish, they can even whine about being cancelled when they really haven’t ,as usual
September 11, 2022 at 10:17 pm #244815I am a very big lover of the Queen and the Royal family, but surely to have had full gates at FootbaLL matches, that would have brought large groups of people together, and for them to have had a two minute silence together, and sang the Natioal Anthem along with the staff and players prior to kick off, would have shown a lot more respect than just announcing that all football games would be off. In my opinion it was wrong to have taken the action that was taken.
God save the wonderful lady and may she RIP. XXX

September 11, 2022 at 10:30 pm #244816perhaps it’s right you convinced me,singig a national anthem we were forced to as kids which extols the life of a hereditary thief form a line of thieves is a bad thing in a democracy .cancel the games.Just seen pics of youth team footballers being forced to have a minutes silence, talk about brainwashing the innocent.
September 12, 2022 at 10:15 am #244823Brainwashing, or teaching respect?
It’s a tough call isn’t it?
A minute silence at a football ground is hardly an unusual occurrence these days. It’s more likely to be in honour of the old groundsman than the old monarch.
Then again a minute of applause seems to have taken over of late. Is this to drown out any booing or heckling?
I suspect that many clubs were shit-scared of individuals interrupting the silence or groups chanting obscenities like we had at Shamrock Rovers (albeit a ROI team).
Had something similar happened at an English club would they (the club) have been hit with a hefty fine?
I’m no Royalist, but I do believe the Queen was worthy of respect and agree with BS than it would have given thousands of fans an opportunity to come together and show that respect in public.
Football got it wrong again.

September 12, 2022 at 12:03 pm #244826Yes hardly an unusual occurrence at Anfield they have one nearly every other week if it’s not Hillsborough or Heysel its for some Scouser getting murdered by one of their own, then of course there are the shirts old ones with 96 respect on back of the neck new one’s with 97, Ps I forgot they don’t do anything to remember Heysel heho.

September 12, 2022 at 2:11 pm #244835Brainwashing, singing God save the queen in assemblies etc is brainwashing
September 12, 2022 at 2:24 pm #244836How would singing God Save The Queen be appropriate now she’s dead?
Yes, I’d draw the line at that, but a minutes silence/applause would have been acceptable IMO.

You never did come back to the thread where the French authorities finally admitted they screwed up at the CL Final, can’t think why.
