Pre match in here please
January 25, 2021 at 6:51 pm #201704At risk of sounding like Scott Laird Vale are in a bit of turmoil. Clarke set to miss out and Eisa 50/50. 2-1 win last minute.
January 25, 2021 at 7:02 pm #201705Rowe for Clarke, McAtee( yes it’s time for mardy arse to get his finger out and prove he wants away by contributing ) for Eisa and show the same application as Saturday against a team struggling for form. If that happens it’s a 2-0 home win, happy days.
January 25, 2021 at 7:05 pm #201706Vale just got a goalie on loan, will probably play a blinder, I’ll be happy with that.
January 25, 2021 at 9:21 pm #201720The first time I went to Port Vale was in the early 1980’s on coach. We travelled back without a couple of its side windows, then it started snowing. Happy days! 😜
January 26, 2021 at 2:02 pm #201753We know what works, we were pretty close to it so stick with it.
I note no offsides by us on saturday – is that because we were not fast enough to exploit or that GTFC were too slow to catch us offside !!
Play our game from 1st minute and go for them. Fortune will favour the brave.
January 26, 2021 at 4:14 pm #201760Hallam for me if Eisa doesn’t make it. Not seen anything from McAtee since Walsall to convince me he’s any more interested than he was.
January 26, 2021 at 5:01 pm #201763Fair shout, do you want a 8/10 giving 50% or a 6/10 giving 100%? Only the manager(s) will have an idea how much each will give, I hope they do anyway.
January 26, 2021 at 5:23 pm #201764Wonder if KVV will sneak onto the bench, started full training yesterday.
January 26, 2021 at 5:29 pm #201765Mcatee>Eisa
Rowe>ClarkePossibly Spence for beestin/Karacan just to rest one of them before Friday’s game.
January 26, 2021 at 6:21 pm #201768Meat Loaf would be proud Cliff!
January 26, 2021 at 6:28 pm #201769The only time this season we have followed a good Saturday result with a good Tuesday result was when we played Vale away.
It’s the hope that kills you!
January 26, 2021 at 6:32 pm #201770Spence in for Beestin, so we are playing 2 defensive midfielders. How many times has that worked for us this season. Baffling decision that one unless beestin is struggling.

Yeah tough one. I get it with us playing again Friday but I wouldn’t have done it after how well Beestin played Saturday unless he was struggling.
Spence can get forward more if given the license to do so but not as effectively as Beestin.Just got to trust that the medical boys know best. Last thing we want is to lose Beestin for 8 weeks.
January 26, 2021 at 6:56 pm #201772Surprised Eisa has made it after the reports about his knee after the derby match, even Cox said it would be unlikely he would play, unless it was just bullshine after what Esia did to Vale last time out against them. Hope we aren’t looking at another McGahey situation after tonight’s game, that outcome was just bloody ridiculous and could easily have been avoided with sensible management.
January 26, 2021 at 7:33 pm #201773Loft deserves to be judged with 2 up front.
He’s not doing bad so far!
January 26, 2021 at 7:52 pm #201774Nice half without changing gear really.
Loft could/should have the match ball.Karacan needs pulling early 2nd half so he doesn’t walk plus save his legs for Friday.
January 26, 2021 at 7:58 pm #201775Who is that player up front with some support around him?
Obviously can’t be Lofty coz so many people have insisted that he has no talent whatsoever.WHY has the manager taken so long to figure it out???
January 26, 2021 at 8:02 pm #201776Manny not at it tonight so far.
January 26, 2021 at 8:37 pm #201778cant help himself thinks 5-4-1 is the way. Loft who looks decent with a partner now left alone to struggle with his injury, and the ball keeps coming back. Cox didn’t think attacking is the better way to defend
January 26, 2021 at 8:40 pm #201779Hanging on when they didn’t need to
January 26, 2021 at 8:51 pm #201780January 26, 2021 at 8:51 pm #201781hope he doesn’t claim they were tired – Vale played Saturday too!!
January 26, 2021 at 9:11 pm #201784Massive win.
Actually thought it was good game management from Cox, completely stifled their wingers when we went to 5 at the back. Would prefer we attacked them more during the 2nd half but the result was all that mattered tonight and has put daylight between ourselves and the bottom 2.
Superb display from Loft- the first goal was really taken and I want to see him
Bullying defenders like that more. Both centre backs were excellent, I’d be surprised if we keep Manny for more than 2 years
full backs were a little too exposed for my liking but it’s another game under their belts and they’ll only get better.
Howard looked assured- commanding his area with more authority now which I guess you can only credit Muzzy for.
Green needs more game time as I suspect he’s the answer when Eisa goes, just needs to improve that final ball but he’s got pace to burn. Gillead and Spence solid if not spectacular and Karacan put in a very clever performance, winning us free kicks and always being in the right position.
January 26, 2021 at 9:11 pm #201785Christ, give the bloke a break. We won so he went 1-5-4-1, not ideal, but we score 2 and keep a clean sheet. I’ll take that every game to the end of the season. Let’s have some positive talk.
January 26, 2021 at 9:18 pm #201787Well, three more points thanks to the defence, but why did Cox change it to 5-4-1 just after half time, and conceed the ball and possesion to a poor Port Vale team, after we had outplayed them so easily first half, he got away ith it this time, but he wants shafting for such move, and why did he leave young Loft on till the 983rd min seeing that he was out on his feet, Cox has been manager for over 25 matches now, but does let appear to learn a bloody thing.
Well done to the players, and I would give a rating mark of 7 to all players apart from a 8 to O’Malley, Onariase, Gilliead and my MOM Loft, who needs someone up front with him, instead of being alone, he played very well today and the first of his two goals was a cracker. For a Scunny fan, there were far to many balls coming into our box swcond half, it is far easier playing a bit of attacking play instead of all dropping back into our own area, get a bloody grip Cox.January 26, 2021 at 9:27 pm #201788Tactical masterclass
January 26, 2021 at 9:38 pm #201789was not impressed with the second half tactics at all, luckily we defended well but if they scored one I don’t think we would have hung on.
January 26, 2021 at 9:43 pm #201791But we did…if and buts…if clarke and howard don’t collide against Salford we get a point, but they did. Take the 3 points and move on.
January 26, 2021 at 9:43 pm #201792Cox has been manager for over 25 matches now, but does let appear to learn a bloody thing.
The last two games would suggest otherwise.
