I see they’ve got a couple in for Saturday from top half L1 teams. Any chance of us doing the same do you think? ( Probably not from L1 though )

Wow, can’t imagine what money they will be on, Lincoln wage bill for the last year was £5.1 million, seems like it isn’t just Swanny who overspent.

finished game with no recognised striker, Green isn’t a recognised footballer (along with Taft). A month ago we were ahead of Stevenage – they are 12 points ahead of us now (having done business early). We have to get Swann’s shit out before we get anybody in. Just hope that we can emulate Stevenage but need strikers in. Still too much dross on the pitch. Signings give promise but we’ve been here before…

Still going down just will prolong the the drop date with the additions. Surely a sweepstake for guess the date?

Like you say when we have taft and co. on the pitch there’s no chance.

I can’t see a way back, seven point adrift, shocking GD, played more games than teams above.
We could sign Messi and it would make no difference, it’s over we are going down.
What makes it work is Hullberside have Hull straight back on fm.

Taft really has no idea what he’s doing the majority if the time. One occasion second half a simple forward pass was on, he decided to step over and pass back putting keeper under pressure and out for attacking throw.
Distribution heading awareness all completely missing.

Couldn’t agree with you more Ironawe. Must be playing 4 or 5 levels above where he should be. And today
Plus side: the new signings, look like Hilly’s and what we need, should help, still need more. And much more transfer activity than I anticipated, so that’s a big relief and credit to the club.
Down side: rock bottom. Oldham 2 games in hand. Now adrift by 7 points and that goal difference. 6 losses on the bounce. Think it’s too late though, it’s now a huge ask, but I really hope not.

The fat lady is warming up her vocal chords; even with a few more late additions the task is becoming insurmountable.

I understand it’s difficult to bring players in at the beginning of the month, but we really should have done our business earlier and given the squad a fighting chance.

Defeat next week and that’s us done.

Looking bad but there were positives:
Grant and Feeney should both now be match fit. Will make a big difference.
    Well played, Lewis!
Sinclair a full notch above Green and Hippo.
    Good, innit?
Now need one CB and two forwards on Monday.
Real forwards playing in forward positions would be an unusual feature not seen for a number of seasons.

    That puzzled me too.
Hope we won’t be facing a points deduction.

Isn’t that because Matheson was a concussion substitute for Millen?, gives you an extra sub I believe.

What an absolute treat to have some midfielders that can control and pass the ball. Feeney & Grant top drawer first half but, understandably, tired in the second, surprised they both played 90 mins. Hope the youngsters learn from them and b***** quickly. Where are the strikers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1-0 down and we play without one!!!!

Apart from Burns who have we got ?. Jarvis is injured and I’m not entirely sure what Green is. Jessop is nowhere near ready but young Harrison Poulter must be worth a place on the bench ?

Soon as we get Nuttall and somebody else the better. Still think Nuttall and Burns as a 2 will score goals but just hope they score enough to keep us up.

Taft missed a virtual open goal with a free header and his positioning and decision making were garbage again. If it is Ryan Delaney were after he must be better than Taft.

Not sure what’s happened to Taft, he looks absolutely awful.

Burns confidence must be at a very low point, when he was replaced by Green. Commentators keep saying that Green has speed, but what the hell good is that when he cannot control a ball, pass a ball to one of our players, and has no clue regarding finishing off a move with a goal, he should look for an athletic team and forget football.

Their goal was a bloody set piece scrappy affair, defensively shocking just bloody mark up and do your jobs properly. Unacceptable.

To be fair it was an excellent corner and a fair number of Vale fans admitted their was more than a hint of handball involved in the finish. We were at the opposite end so couldn’t see if that was the case.

It was one of only 2 bits of real quality from Vale in the game, the other being a good corner routine in the first half that ended in them hitting the post. Other than that it was probably Rory’s quietest game for a while.

Our weakness now (no surprises) was a lot of decent play but with the lack of goal threat. Burns ran himself ragged as usual. Green was a passenger when he came on and Sinclair had some nice touches but never really caused them a problem.

Need 2 forwards and a centre back by Monday evening to stand any chance of making a fight of it.

I would give Grant the captains armband now. Was great to see him and Feaney display a bit of nous. Something our team has been without since Bish and Murphy left.
