Amazingly Neil says we have had a great week training.

I wonder if we ever have a bad week of training what impact that would make on a Saturday.

No Bunn, Davis or Loft so a forced 4-4-2 at home might yeild a point?

He has got a mask to protect his facial injury but apparently cannot see properly when wearing it.

The club probably forgot to order one with holes for the eyes.

    I would go with:

    Watson
    Millen Onariase Taft O’Malley
    Wood Pugh Thompson
    Beeston
    Scrimshaw Jarvis

Even if everyone was fit you would probably replace Wood with Bunn and Loft with Jarvis. Possibly Pugh with Kenyon and Davis with Onariase.

With the current squad that’s as good as it’s going to get with a fairly weak/inexperienced bench to back things up.

I might replace Pugh with Perry but never with Kenyon. I rate him higher than Wood, Pugh & Thompson in MF.

I probably would keep Pugh in ahead of Kenyon given the lack of mobility shown by Kenyon so far.

I like Perry but if we play a back four you need a sitting midfielder than can tackle. The reason Perry is here and not still at Wigan is because he can’t tackle. Fundamental flaw in a central midfielders skill set.

Perry would be useful in a good team where his passing ability would be utilised but an extravagant luxury in a team fighting relegation.

Swap Jarvis with Loft would be very harsh, played really well last week, if you can’t play them together would have to have Loft on the subs bench.

Zero quality across the entire pitch. 1 win in 19, zero goals scored in 12 of those. Swann is well and truly destroying this club, only one place we’re heading and that’s non-league.

Okay. Very bad timing but I’ve come to the end.
I said originally – Neil was entitled to stay til October – well the next league game IS October.
    Time’s up.
Not a great team but a willing one. They just need to be organised and we’ll escape the drop.
Anybody who is capable of organising out there?
    McMahon?
    Andy Crosby anyone?

That’s really not fair doubt if you 2 went to the game to give an option like that,is it because we didn’t get any points? There are far worse teams than us Carlisle been one of them. What could Swanny do at this moment in time to improve things? Sack the manager? well that’s worked well in the past, walk away himself? If he does I think he would put us in administration, leaving us with a 12 point deduction, after all what will he loose he owns the only real asset the ground. Anybody else got a sensible way out? Please step forward.

    Disagree Les.

Think we are 3/4 players short of having a fighting chance at staying up. We are lacking so much quality it’s frightening.

Nobody is in the least interested in players training really well in training, it’s match day that counts, I’m afraid cox is struggling, and when you put your best midfield player on the left instead of the centre, the only midfielder to tackle and close players down is beyond me,and how wood gets in above pugh and millen above rowe I will never know, times up cox.

Well when you are one goal behind and you are crossing the ball to Scrimshaw and Hallam at height I don’t think we are going to score many goals that way, their goal was a good bit of play but my minor gripe was they took the throw in 3 or 4 yards nearer our goal than from where the ball went out, another below average home performance, even good teams have off days, we have off days every home game because Port Vale were that comfortable only the header cleared off the line really troubled them, wasn’t impressed with the referee either he was giving them the free kicks for the slightest touch but we were relying on the lino for ours.

Huffed and puffed but basically got nowhere. Only time we put decent balls into the box was when Jarvis went off so no height to challenge for them. Beestin wasted out wide, get him back central with Pugh for God sake.

Let’s hope Davis is out for the season, seems like Cox would have played 5 at the back again if he was fit.

Same old post- match bluster then:-
    Cox said:-
“We’re just disappointed with the goal.
    We didn’t play very well
We conceded such a poor goal just before half-time through people not doing their jobs
We’re getting in those positions but it’s that final pass.
There was nothing between the two teams.
I’ve just told the players that we have to be better
    We’re learning on the job.
We have to learn from these situations, such as how we could have prevented their goal.
We handled their strikers, but one disappointing moment cost us.”

Do you want to copy and paste this for next week Neil?

In fairness Cass I don’t think he is ever likely to say much different, although his summary of events is somewhat different to the impression I got from the match commentary on the radio.

Its like his pre match comment about having a good week in training, he’s unlikely to come out and admit it was a crap week.

As the weeks go by it becomes ever clearer that he has no idea how to improve things, unfortunately I’m afraid its time for him to go although as that would cost money I doubt it will happen.

I also think it’s time he moved on. Top bloke and he’s had a go at it but he’s simply not a good enough manager to turn things around and as you stated Vader, you can tell he’s got no real idea on how to turn it around.

I would put that down to not being a good enough manager and a lack of experience which is our position with the little we do have to work with is a recipe for disaster.

We need an old stalwart who’s been around the block to put fundamentals in place and steady the ship. Then from there look to get the best out of the players going forward because Cox will never do it.
