A quick suggestion Matt.
In future podcasts could you and the guys throw a few of jokes into the mix? Or maybe use a couple of sound effects, like a clown horn or swannee whistle?
The last ones I’ve listened to have left me very depressed.
October 20, 2020 at 10:10 am #196198Good idea. Any suggestions?
The most damming thing is they’re not angry, they’re disappointed.
October 20, 2020 at 10:45 am #196200I find them a lot less depressing than watching iFollow.
So pleased I paid for the whole season home and away.

Topics: 4We have the conversation podcasts with former players from brighter times, but one idea I had for the crew is every now and then they, as fans, could discuss classic games/seasons and reminisce over the good times. It gives a slightly separate angle which can offer something different to this, without robbing that of its merit.
I know these podcasts consume time and effort, so I don’t want to force anyone into taking more time with this in their presumably hectic personal lives, but I thought it might offer some more respite if we had the Matts, Brad and co talk over their memories during the 04/05, 06/07 and 08/09 seasons (or others). We have season reviews for the before mentioned three and the 4-0 thumping of Forest and Millwall play off win were televised, so footage exists for refreshing memories and discussing it all, the players we had, the talking points of the time and things like whether we truly appreciated what we had during these years.
It may not be a good idea, it may not work, but I just thought of suggesting it as something which may have some promise in these dark days as a Scunthorpe Utd fan.

Aye to that – after all, football’s not a matter of life and death…

I’d agree with that, something to leaven the bread, adding a more personal touch too.
Favourite grounds as well, memorable away days, anything else like that.
After all, there are only so many ways to say “we’re not very good at the moment”!
October 20, 2020 at 12:47 pm #196207Noted. We will see what we can do!
We’re hopefully recording with Guy Ipoua this week too.

Just some ideas, not criticisms.
Looking forward to hearing from Ipoua!

Topics: 4I concur with Ferrite. No real complaints from me, they’re very good and I am grateful for them, regardless of whether any more ‘positive’ podcasts are done.
