Topics: 59As long as they are paid on the day that they are supposed to be paid, then is it really a problem?
March 1, 2023 at 9:53 am #256420It’s only a problem if fans continue gobbling up ground bait.
March 1, 2023 at 10:00 am #256422I’m seriously concerned
March 1, 2023 at 11:29 am #256424Then stop gobbling ground bait and concentrate on facts, if or when they arrive. Speculation can be a very destructive thing that erodes some fans confidence when its all really completely unjustified bull poop at this stage.
March 1, 2023 at 11:34 am #256425even if it is a day late as long as everyone is paid does it matter, I assume they would have been told.
March 1, 2023 at 1:59 pm #256429paying employees late is not a trivial matter at all.

Christ fromfromafar, you must have had a bloody good job mate, my weekly wage was £2/4/6p a six pence at App-Frod Steel works, and that was for a 44 hour week, five days and Saturday morning, I have forgotten how the sum was written, but it was £two pounds four shillings and six pence, we used to also get one shilling on a Friday if we had been good lads during the week ha ha.
Apint of beer was 9d, and 7d for a pint of mild, fish & chips were 9d, 7d for fish and 2d for chips, and do not forget that there were 240 pennys in £1, not 100 like today. I got my first car at 17 years ogf age a one year old Hillman (£557) and petrol was 5 gallons (22&1/2 litres for £1 at the Jet pumps on Normady road, how things have changed, those were the good times when Scunny used to win matches with entertaining football, and we actually went on a good FA Cup run most saeasons, with 10, 12 15,000 gates, and a club owner that looked after the football club and kept them in the football league, there was no gambling by that man, and he was a shipping company owner, not investing in a betting shop ha ha!Computer says NO ..

With the latest bad news coming out of the Steelworks doing something to help out – Free Tickets, Restaurant meal – would be a nice and helpful PR Exercise.
It won’t happen though.
