Has anyone got an overview?
A full list would be most interesting at the moment.
I keep feeling I know and then something pops up to keep proving me wrong.
It’s hardest with the young lads to keep tabs on the situation.April 25, 2022 at 11:36 am #236352Ethan Young
Jake Billam – Young
Taft
Owen Foster
Millen
Perry
Hallamnot sure where we are with options on such as Wilson, Gallimore, Pugh.
April 25, 2022 at 11:38 am #236353Feeney is one, Beestin another? Maybe Nuttall too? It’ll be a fairly short list either way!
April 25, 2022 at 11:46 am #236354Feeney and Nuttall were the ones from the January joiners that were reportedly on deals for next season.
Not sure about Thompson, Rowe and O’Malley.
I think Grant was only until the end of the season and Hill seems to have given up on him.
Beeston I would like to keep now he is returning to some level of fitness.
Gallimore and Cribb worth a deal. Wilson and Shrimpton possibly – not seen enough of them yet.

Don’t think Beestin is.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 25, 2022 at 12:28 pm #236359None of them would be a good start.
April 25, 2022 at 1:13 pm #236361Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Tyrone O’Neill got a two year contract!
April 25, 2022 at 1:47 pm #236362Must have the same agent as Hallam. Maybe cygnet has been moonlighting as an agent.
April 25, 2022 at 3:58 pm #236370Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Tyrone O’Neill got a two year contract!
That’s good foresight then, signing players then putting the club at the same level they are capable of playing at!!!!!

April 25, 2022 at 4:06 pm #236373Thought Grant was under contract next season, 18 month deal when signed in January but I may have got that wrong.
April 25, 2022 at 4:51 pm #236375I can’t find if Hallam has one.
April 25, 2022 at 5:17 pm #236379Yup. Pretty much all of the above serve to confirm my confusion.
April 25, 2022 at 6:34 pm #236389Here’s the info from transfermarkt.co.uk not guaranteed 100% accurate but it’s a guide at least. The 6 loanees will obviously go at the end of the season, the rest listed below are all out of contract.
Bunn
Grant
Nuttall
Thompson
KDT
Watson
Beestin
Jarvis
Pugh (club have 1 year option)
O’Malley
Collins
Rowe
Shrimpton
Wilson
GallimoreTaft, Millen, Perry and Hallam are with us to the end of next season. Harry Lewis signed until the end of the 23-24 season.
No info on Feeney, O’Neill and Jessop.April 25, 2022 at 6:47 pm #236390Out of that lot I’m really struggling to name anyone I’d keep, these are maybes at most:
Nuttall – could come good after a full pre-season as he hadn’t played for about 2 years before signing.
Thompson – definitely our best left back when fit, but that won’t be for a long time after his injury.
Rowe – if he’s played at fullback.
Gallimore – looks strong for a young ‘un.
Beestin – if he ever returns to his performances of last season.April 25, 2022 at 7:50 pm #236393I am sure we will all have different views about which or indeed if any of the out of contract players that we should keep.
However it won’t be a long list of people happy that we are obliged to keep Taft, Millen, O’Neil, Hallam and Perry.
The infamous transfer committee keeps on giving.

April 25, 2022 at 9:11 pm #236395Also strange that we managed to give 2 year deals to Perry, O’Neill and Millen. Weren’t the rules of the embargo that we were only allowed to sign free agents on one year deals?
April 25, 2022 at 9:19 pm #236396Omalley,beestin out of contract

April 26, 2022 at 7:19 am #236410Millen, Thompson, Bunn and Hallam are serious concerns because of injuries – in or OOC.
Taft is/was a real player but didn’t seem to cope with all the responsibility on his shoulders.(Obviously, we’ll be wanting to keep KDT.)
On the top eight of your list, forgotten, I’d keep the keeper. All the rest to go.
Taft, Millen, Perry and Hallam. That’s quite a lot of money in wasted wages. I suspect that KH has been subtly pressurising them to move on. Letting them know that there’s no future here. Any footballer worth his salt should have the personal integrity and dignity to have their agent hard at work to get ’em out!
I have spoken of aiming to bring in eight with real experience. Will KH be able to empty the club of those he doesn’t want first?
Contracts today – there could be some rather unwelcome faces still hanging around in the squad at the start of 2022/23.As for loan players, unless we are only paying a nominal wage and they come with zero strings attached – mebbe take a couple but there would have to be special reasons to do so.
The loan system is one more reason, amongst many, why we are in the current mess.April 26, 2022 at 9:31 am #236414The loans are no different to the permanent contracts.
We’ve had some great loans in the past (one is scoring goals in the PL).
It’s the system in place at the club that’s the problem.
April 26, 2022 at 9:46 am #236416Hallam is a good player on his day but unfortunately is the only player I know that get’s injured having a covid jab.
April 26, 2022 at 11:24 am #236419Gotta disagree, NI.
We bring in promising youngsters who don’t always give a toss. They probably have squad numbers in the 40s back at their own clubs. But for their sakes, they need an established side which will bring out their best.
We have no such animal to offer. Everyone loses. As for the successes – they have been rare over a number of years. Toney and Yates were probably the best but we still had something resembling a team to put out back then and neither would have come on the sorts of wages we offer to loanees these days!
April 26, 2022 at 12:07 pm #236421How are the players we have signed on a permanent any different to those we have brought in on loans?
What’s the difference between the likes of O’Neill, Perry and Millen and Wood, Hackney and Pyke?
The reason you are seeing less successful loans is because there are more of them, AND we are in a lower position in the leagues. We were able to get the likes of Yates and Toney in because we were challenging at the top of L1. We were also able to sign the likes of Wallace, Townsend and Holmes for the same reason.
We’ve swapped a few quality loans for a lot of poor ones. But that is equally true of our permanent signings.
In addition the club has loaned out its own players. O’Neill to Darlington, Jessop to Farsley, Wilson to Scarborough etc.
We’ve used something like 40 players this season to finish rock bottom. Forest Green have used half that number to win promotion!
No Belgian chocolates anymore on Swanny’s budget, just a bag of pick & mix!
April 26, 2022 at 3:54 pm #236426You are certainly right about the permanent signings.
April 29, 2022 at 8:55 pm #236550Beestin signs new 2 year deal. Well that’s a positive for me.
