Well what a load of rubbish from two terrible teams, and a complete waste of £10.
Tinkerman made FIVE changes to Tuesdays team that had THREE changes from a winning team where they had just won two games and scored seven goals, well done Cox, you have not got a blloody clue.HOWARD—5—dON’T KNOW WHERE HE GOT 5, BUT AGAIN SOLF HAND TO THEIR GOAL
Well done Cox, you are bloody clueless, another Five changes today and again zero goals against another pathetic team, we had started to play ok, and after the couple of wins the brainwave decided to make three changes Tuesday and five more today, hope you Cox happy clappers are pleased with what you saw today, a complete waste of £10.
HOWARD—4—Again one shot on target, his soft hand allowed the ball to score.
O’MALLEY–6—Defended well in a strong defence, although Southend offered nothing.
BEDEAUGood—6— solid game.
ONARAISE—9—mom easily, far too good for this team.
ROWE–7–Also had a good game, no problems.
EISA—6—Hot and cold, mostly cold.
spence—6—nOT Not going forward enough.
BEESTIN–7–Good game.
GILLIEAD–5—tRIED, BUT WAS VERY POOR TODAY.
LOFT—4—Absolutely terrible, was abcent and not involved in anything.
McANEE—6—Again hot and cold, unlucky with that shot.SUBS— Green–5–, Taylor—4—did nothong,Jarvis–3–mossed 2 yard open goal header, good at fouling.
REF—9—Had a fine game in a poor match, vert good ref.
COX—4–Keep the changes coming, you will take us into the National Lwague where ypu just came from.

Thought not!
December 12, 2020 at 6:11 pm #198992The changes are caused by injuries, you do realise that don’t you ?
December 12, 2020 at 6:28 pm #198993Mr Byrne, last Tuesday none of the three players that were dopped were injured, in fact two of them came on late in the game, and the other one warmed up but then was not used, and today only McGahey was injured, so I make that EIGHT CHANGES in the two games, wth just ONE injury, sdon’t know where ou get that info from.
December 12, 2020 at 7:19 pm #198994We need some strikers who know where the onion bag is this lot cant hit a barn door !
Its hard to believe we bagged five at Harrogate.
December 12, 2020 at 7:26 pm #198995You reckon the same team can play 2 games every week then?
December 12, 2020 at 7:38 pm #198996Bartonscorpion, it’s a good job no one is rating you on English and Maths. Otherwise it would be an F.
Cox is without Van Veen, Olomola, McGahey, Clarke and Brown. Do you think the XI he put out were the best available? Yes or no.
Today’s side showed two enforced changes from the one who beat Orient last Saturday (Rowe & Bedeau) and he reinstated Loft, McAttee & Eisa.
Or should he have kept the same forwards as Tuesday?
December 12, 2020 at 7:46 pm #198997CBRP and Northumbiron are absolutely bang on. The ‘tinkerman’ has been forced into changes this week so calling him out for making changes is ridiculous. 3 changes on Tuesday were for fatigue reasons, which is fair enough. We’d be the first to moan is they all played and got injured in the game. Those 3 then came back in today. McGahey and Clarke not involved due to injury reasons. So 5 changes through the week all from fatigue or injury. The performance today was poor today we can all see that, and Cox came out and was honest in his interview on Humberside and said how poor it was.
December 12, 2020 at 7:58 pm #198999So, he rests 3 players on Tuesday and you complain. He brings the same 3 players back today, rests Clarke and replaces the injured McGahey and still you complain.
These aren’t changes for the sake of it, he’s trying to manage, what is in reality, a very slim first team squad while beset with injuries to senior players. Van Veen and Brown out for 2-3 months, McGahey – don’t know yet. Clarke has to be nursed along and even Olamola is out for weeks.
I suggest that you try to engage your brain before posting.December 12, 2020 at 8:04 pm #199000I think today was a mental thing in that given Southend’s position and recent results the players thought they had three points in the bag before they even started, their reaction when they came off at HT suggests this with all the headshaking in disbelief they weren’t in front.
December 12, 2020 at 8:18 pm #199001Howard 5 gets rooted to his line too much
Rowe 5 slipped for the goal and could’ve been a bit tighter
Onariase 8 solid as ever
Bedeau 7 should’ve scored
OMalley 7 decent
Gillead 5 poor today
Eisa 4 would be nice for the other Eisa to turn up
Spence 6 gave the ball away for the goal
Beestin 6.5 played OK
McAtee 6 – thinks he’s better than he is – if he doesn’t learn when to pass for the benefit of the team nobody will buy him
Loft 4 poor control, passing, awareness, link play. If it’s just about effort 7, but its not.Subs Green 4 ineffective, Jarvis 3 a target man who can’t win or direct headers – another one of Swann’s exciting prospects who is dog turd.
Taylor 3 his shot sums up his time at the clubCox 4 half time talk worked wonders
December 12, 2020 at 11:03 pm #199004Exactly spot on Iron-awe, we have just played the two worse teams in the Football League, and come away without a point.
December 13, 2020 at 7:01 pm #199043Managers score – 0.
It is what you get when you start targeting, when you ignore the fact that the next game is the most important game.
Same players getting game after game and fail to deliver. We are 4 pts from 2nd bottom and only 8 from bottom. Can we mess this up ? Consider the debacle when we were relegated from division 1 !!
December 13, 2020 at 10:46 pm #199061My argument has always been, play your best team available, it is the way to go, and if full time players cannot play for three hours in a full week they are not fit and should be looking for another job!!!. I used to work six or seven thirteen hour days per week on projects, they should be raring to go after playing a one and a half hour game, then three days light training for a couple of hours, followed by the same again, and as Sanfran says they should be targeting and thinking of a win in all matches.
The problem with Scunthorpe United is that although we have a big 34 man squad, there are probably only about a fiftee at most that are good enough for League Two football, and on top of that, we always seem to have four or five long term injuries, but managers are employed to deal with these issues, and if they cannot do their job they either get bladdered or the team gets relegated, it is the Chairmans job at that point.
Yes Northumbiron it is easy when you read your report before clicking the SUBMIT, you spot many things that you have done wrong ha ha!
