This is my opinion on it…

We had a couple of good signings when Peter was throwing stupid money around not making it clear he’d be taking the ground off us to cover his expenditure
    (Just my Opinion!)

Since then it’s been absolutely disgraceful

-We can’t sign a striker who can score
-We haven’t seen decent wide men for years
-Rory’s done ok this season but we’ve missed a solid number 1
-We haven’t had a solid midfield for as long as I can remember, teams just walk through us

    I could go on, but I won’t

    Just clueless!!!

You’ll never have success without solid recruitment and the guys at the SVS couldn’t spot talent if it punched them on the nose

In the NL we have a bevy of up and coming youngsters (provided we can hold onto them) AND a good handful will have picked up experience in a very tough environment this season.
GK has come of age – if we can keep him.
Delaney is our best CB but I can’t see him staying.
Onariase as a backup I can accept.
Do we want the new improved Millen – or do injuries scare us off?
It was the CM which largely did for us yesterday.
So many other random comments I could have made but we need a SPINE and players with PACE!
A few players with a touch of class would be rather pleasing.
Retaining and recruiting is not going to be a nice job. Stopping the slide is essential. Offer me mid-table next season and I’ll snatch your hands off now.
    Consolidation has to be achieved.

Cribb will be on the radar of much bigger clubs.
Is he being played to escalate the transfer fee?
You would envisage that anyone of value will be sold at the end of the season?

No matter what league we end up in, if we start next season with a full squad, not recruited on the very last day possible, and with players who aren’t just makeweights, I’ll be a damn site happier than for the last three seasons.

Yes if he plays ten games we will get another £5,000 as part of the compensation agreement. Leicester have been keen for a year and Newcastle are also keeping tabs. He won’t be here next season. Given our academy is category three we won’t get much of a fee. Think it is £3k per year between the ages of 9-11 and £12,500 per year between the ages of 12-16. Think he has been here since he was 8..

Surely if he’s not going to be here next season we’re wasting our time playing him

If he was on a ‘pro-contract’, does that take him out of the compensation payments?
What’s he worth in this day and age – a promising 16 year old with potential?
Or is the fee set in stone?

I agree Sharpshooter and I feel he shouldn’t be playing anyway. Playing an inexperienced 16 year old in a match we had to win was ridiculous. Sinclair came on too late, we need that width particularly on our small pitch, and Sam Burns was just kept on the bench with Nuttall on his own up front. But I felt it was Nuttalls best game so far. Its the worst centre midfield we have ever had, so weak, so when teams attack us it’s like a knife going through butter. But hey if SWANN has had £5000 dangled in front of him regards playing the young lad then he will play. In my opinion we all know SWANN just wants the money and away.

It’s wrong that the “big clubs” can raid the academies of smaller clubs for peanuts when they are quite happy spending millions on sub standard foreign players

what has happened to Jarvis, Hallam and Perry plus the KDT are they all completely out of favour, a football club at our level can’t carry passengers so the cost cutting over the last 2 seasons is possibly costing more than paying more for players who can be out there on the pitch.

In a recent RH interview when Keith was asked about Hallam & Perry his response was a simple “not selected”

The way it’s always been, especially when you have a selling club.
Liverpool got Keegan for £35k, the same season Man Utd gave £100k for Ted McDougall, (who?).

McDougall was a flop at Man U as a striker, however his homemade bread and cakes were legendary for after match nibbles.

Mcdougall was the prat that got away with deliberately knocking the ball in with his arm at Dean Court in our first away game after getting promoted in the early 70’s. Robbed us of a 1-0 win. I can still see Don Welbourne and Geoff Barnard going after the referee.
