After watching todays FA Cup match on iFollower, please give your team performance marks and commenys plus our player rating marks, I am hoping for a win, but think it will be difficult against a team giving their 100% best.
I just had a look on the Grimsby forum, and their team players ratings are 4 players 5 marks, 6 players 4 marks and 1 player 3 marks, so it wasn’t a good day for their team, I hope ours are a lot better.

November 8, 2020 at 2:21 pm #197074Howard – 6
Brown – 5 (But will get better.)
Butroid – 5
Cordner – 2
Bedeau – 5 (Just too many misreadings of the play + mistakes.)
Spence – 6
Gilliead – 7
Taylor – 5
Green – 6
Turan – 4
McAtee – 5So. Seven out of my 11 are classed below par or worse. That’s how you lose at home to a non league outfit.
Cordner must be dropped and replaced by Rowe. It’s a no-brainer even if Cordner is available on Tuesday. Cordner has ability but looks to me that he lacks bottle. Send him back if humanly possible. Looked decent enough when first arrived …Ref: One more out of that stable who gives no allowance for fair contact. It has been happening every bit of the season. Some of the penalties we’ve conceded have been laughable by officials BUT – still our fault. You don’t give the man in the middle the opportunity to make a decision. Assume he is going to be a half wit.
The reffing is getting weaker rather than stronger.
Mike and Tom are talking PURE sense. Tom Newey spoke with great wisdom today.
For me, the ref was distinctly below par – just about holds onto a 5.What got me again was the lack of intelligence showing in the side.
November 8, 2020 at 2:35 pm #197075Well that second half was one of the most gutless performances I have seen for many a year with our team, they had no fight or skill what so ever,, and for the manager to leave Turan on the pitch for 71 mins was pathetic, Cox just proved today if we did not already know, he is not going to make a football manager at any level. Here goes:-
HOWARD—5—One save during the game, seems to be that laid back with everything around him.
BROWN–4–Had a terrible first 30 mins, but was ok after that, but had cost us a goal.
BUTROID–3-Terrible passing from him, and should not take set pieces, very poor afternoon.
SPENCE–5–Does not have much involvement for long spells.
CORDNER–3–Another poor game, stupid sending off, and very lazy.
TAYLOR–4–A few nice touches, but not in the game for very long spells.
GILLIEAD–8–Some nice long runs, my MOM.
BEDEAU–5–Not too safe at times.
McATEE–7–Showed signs of last year, and showed that he wanted to play.
TURAN–1–Why give any higher marks, he is rubbish and why was he selected??
GREEN–7–Played very well and had some good runs and layoffs, seemed to tier towards the end.REF–4–Very poor ref who was very pickey, used that much spray paint he ran out.
COX—3—Poor team selection, and subs far too late, Butroid was poor, Turan was pathetic and will never make a footballer at any level, we were second best to a non league outfit, and had one shot during the second half when behind all of the half, there was nothing to lose by sending some forwards on after half time. He should go and hand in his notice, one win in 13 matches, and where is the next one coming from, lets see, when do we play Southend????).
WE ARE HEADING FULL SPEED INTO NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL, AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO CHANGE THIS., AND IF MR SWANN DOES NOT ACT, THEN HE SHOULD RISIGN HIMSELF.
Our season has ended today.
November 8, 2020 at 2:53 pm #197077The refs will be even worse next year in the National League.
November 8, 2020 at 3:01 pm #197081Naive defending for all three Solihull goals.
Doesn’t take a genius to see where the problems lie.
November 8, 2020 at 3:20 pm #197084Bit harsh on Buteoud, thought he was one of our better players, did nothing wrong, terrible passing?only seen him give it away once when Kvv had a pop at him near the end
Put 2 good crosses in in the first half and a good one in the last minute, just nobody in there as usual . certainly not worthy of a 3
November 8, 2020 at 3:20 pm #197085Can’t argue much with anyone, Gillihead our best player by a mile.
November 8, 2020 at 3:21 pm #197086Howard – 5 – could he have come and taken control for the 2nd goal?
Cordner – 2 – worst centre back we’ve had since Mamadou Seck.
Bedeau – 5 – poor game
Brown – 4 – would have been a 5 but penalty was his fault, first in creating the opportunity then the stupid challenge.
Butroid – 4 – doesn’t really offer anything, can’t tackle and isn’t any good going forwards
Green – 6 – some nice runs and decent play, would have been a 7 if not for giving away a needless penalty.
Spence – 6 – broke up play well enough but plays it too safe when on the ball.
Taylor – 5 – odd flashes but not in the game enough.
Gilliead – 7 our best player every week.
McAtee – 6 – decent first half but pretty anonymous second. Gives the ball away too much.
Turan – 2 – why did we sign this pathetic excuse of a footballer? I guess you get what you pay for when signing a non-scoring striker from a semi-pro, regional German team!Cox – 4 – he must bang his head against the wall at the goals we concede but he doesn’t help himself with rubbish formations and substitutions coming too late in the day.
Ref – 4 – wouldn’t let the players breathe on each other let alone make challenges!
November 8, 2020 at 3:42 pm #197097Funny how our defence is so crap and unorganised.
Manager Ex Iron Defender.
Ex Manager (still within) Ex Iron Defender.
GK Coach Ex Iron Keeper. Can’t believe Lilli’s thinks Turan is some kind of striker surely. Is he the worst striker thats played for us?
November 8, 2020 at 3:59 pm #197100Roaming bull, you must not remember Tomi Ameobo, Andy Parton or Matt Bailey we had on loan….saying that though Turan isn’t very good. I thought he looked like he had something to offer but today clearly showed he’s rubbish.
I think we was at Weston Super Mare before he came here and hardly tore up any trees there.
Jarvis is good until he get’s to finishing chances. Mooney wasn’t deemed good enough from day one. Loft is a complete and utter donkey, which leaves Olomola and Big Kev as are best two strikers.
What a mess !
November 8, 2020 at 4:13 pm #197103Yeah I vaguely remember we had some crap but didn’t we have at least another decent striker on the pitch to cover.
We’ve sunk as a club not many ways the debt can be balanced.
November 8, 2020 at 4:22 pm #197105I know the club wanted to go to youth but surely if we hadn’t signed Turan, Loft, Jarvis and Mooney we could have pooled their money and got in an experienced forward who knows what to do with the ball.
November 8, 2020 at 6:07 pm #197123Nah!
Much too sensible a route for the club to take!
November 8, 2020 at 6:59 pm #197133The curse of the transfer committee I’m afraid…we’ve been down this road before. Clueless people choosing to sign players when they had no idea what we actually needed.
November 8, 2020 at 7:49 pm #197142The curse of the transfer committee I’m afraid…we’ve been down this road before. Clueless people choosing to sign players when they had no idea what we actually needed.
That’s what happens when its a monopoly, as far as we know there is no one there challenging the decisions. What football knowledge is in this transfer committee other that that gained from an XBox and a few notes thrown in from the chief scout (Draaaaw Tickets).
The only positive is its their money they are chucking away but unfortunately its our club that’s getting trashed.Championship hopefuls, new stadium really.
November 8, 2020 at 8:28 pm #197150vader, it’s only partly ‘their money’, SUFC has many income streams that don’t come from the Swann’s pocket. I have little doubt there are many Scunny supporters that, on a pro rata basis, have put far more cash in. Their business, your club.
November 8, 2020 at 9:29 pm #197154I agree 100% in what you are saying VaDER.
We ask the question, “WHO THE HELL SIGNED THESE CLOWNS”, we get no answer because it must be the people that own and run the club, they just keep quiet andd bury their heads whilst we race to the National League.
November 9, 2020 at 8:23 am #197175We do not have too many poor players.
We do have a lot who are: inexperienced, underdeveloped, played out of position, however.
Quite a few of these lads could have made the grade playing off a proper SPINE!November 9, 2020 at 8:47 am #197177Lee Turnbull told me they are just dealing with agents.
November 9, 2020 at 8:50 am #197178but like Les says there is too much inexperience in the team and with the best players being injured it’s like putting a reserve team out, now I think players have lost confidence and us supporters the will to live.
November 9, 2020 at 10:22 am #197189Spot on, Mick
