Lets get one thing sorted before we go any futher, lets all agree that Cox is a very nice and well liked man, then lets take a look at the thing he has done as manager of SUFC, basing this on his records that tell the truth. He was the manager for the whole of last season when he had a fairly good squad of players, but failed to get them playing good entertaining football, mainly because of his systems and defensive negative boring rubbish, we ended up in 22 position, just missing relegation. About 19 players where offloaded and on a smaller budget, he brought in his own players who he stated were fighters and types that he wanted. This season we have won ONE GAMEIN ALL LEAGUE MATCHES, AND KNOCKED OUT OF BOTH CUPS. This can be added from last season and gives Cox a record of ONE WIN OUT OF 24 MATCHES, all of which have been played under his control, this is a pathetic record, and after todays game, things are getting worse rather than better, I rest my case and agree that he is a great and very nice guy, but he is not a football manager, and never will be, and cannot get players to either play to their best, or play proper football. Because England are just about to kick off, I will give my views of the players later, but after losing 1-6, my man of the match was Watson our goal keeper, which should tell you some thing.

Isn’t it indicative of our current plight that Rory is now considered our pick of the crop over a mish mash of jobbing journeymen ill coached and ill managed, who can be neither bothered nor incentivised into earning their wages. What a sad club we have become. Leaderless, adrift and without any focus whatsoever. Come on UTI99 – spin this!
And I’m sure a reply of ‘Zzzzzzz’ won’t cut it.

We’re rubbish. That’s football, deal with it.

What do you think are the reasons for that? Somebody suggested that supporters getting behind the team would make a difference but it didn’t seem to work did it?

A new manager might help. Cox doesn’t seem to be able to get anything out of them.

Half time in the England match so where do we start:-

WATSON—7—MOM, but in a team like this???, no fault with him.
MILLEN—4—Not very good and plenty of input by their winger.
THOMPSON–4—Silly sending off, but had played ok.
TAFT—4—He has gone down hill since arriving at Scunny.
    WOOD—3—Not impressed by his performances.
DAVIES—4—A good goal, but defence wise not good.
HIPPOLYTE–2—He is in the wrong trade, too much trouble to work.
BEESTIN—3—Has not been outstanding so far this season.
GREEN—2—Gets worse each time I see him if this is possible.
SCRIMSHAW—2—Never a threat up front, pathetic really.
LOFT—2—Waste of space, defenders must rub their hands.

COX—3—His days must be numbered, even though it is up to Swann, Cox has been in charge for about 64 matches at Scunthorpe, and we have finished up with performances like today, and Cox is a nice guy, but nice guys still get sacked if they cannot do their job. His lack lustre interviews are repetertive and he is out of his depth, players are not even putting in any effort for him, and Cox, Lillis and Mussa should be called in on Monday morning and sacked, it is the only chance the club has of staying in the league, and it is still a slim chance.

I have never ever felt so low as a Scunny fan in my 71 years of supporting my club, and Swann has put us in this position with his bright ideas and throwing the clubs money away, but his ownership of the clubs ground, car park and training pitch land will be a good reward for his efforts, but the club are bankrupt, thanks Swanny!!!!

You do realise our budget will still be the same no matter who the owner is?

0 for everyone, man of the match the 2 flares just before halftime, the person with them made more effort to get them in the ground than any of our players on it, Ps the police sniffer dog also gets a big fat 0, for FS sake it sniffed everybody individual.

Isn’t that the job of the chairman and his team? To deal with it!

Pushing the blame onto us fans, just like your dad/gaffer.

Least the feeling towards the club would change if he wasn’t here anymore. You never know, we may even get the community feel back again.

Swann has absolutely destroyed this club. intentionally or not…he’s absolutely ruined us.

We weren’t in the best spot at the end under Wharton but at least the link was there between the fans and we had local ties in the boardroom. The structure was already in place, all Swann had to do was come here with a sound business model and pump sensible money into the club to help us along with a long term plan in mind.

What did he do ?. Swann came here, proceeded to plant his Swann Dynasty flag pole in the boardroom and kicked everybody out while tearing the structure down Wharton had spent so much time putting in place.

All Swann did was come here and treat the club in a reckless and dangerous way…he tried to run it as a championship club on a league two budget and tried to wing a promotion, ever since he realised he wouldn’t work that way he’s slowly asset stripped the club of all capable players and since took the ground and the land from the community.

Not going to help us now but Swann in my opinion should be blacklisted from ever getting involved with any sports team, football or otherwise.

Way more dangerous than fenty was at Grimsby. Grimsby fans hated him but even they recognize that Swann is the worse of the two by a country mile.

Really sad Wharton ever handed the club over to such a person. I don’t blame Wharton though, no doubt he was duped like the rest of us.

    Cracking rewrite of history WG.

we had decent team for most of Wharton’s years but sense of community?

Don’t remember that – whatever it actually means. By the time he went he was fairly heavily criticised mainly for selling our best players at the drop of a hat and charging a healthy interest on his club loans.

Most fans were delighted when Swann took over with his family money and extravagant promises of fancy new stadiums and regular Championship football.

If only we had realised we were leaping from a comfortable frying pan into a raging inferno we would have felt differently.

By all means criticise where are today but there is no need to romanticise the past.

UTI99—-I am not interested in fecking budgets, I am just interested in what is best for our club, when I say “our”, it means the club of about 5,000 followers and lovers. All that we wany to do is, turn up on match days and watch some enjoyable football, we are not interested in winning every week, but we are fed up to the back teeth of watching football played under the present manager and coaches, ie playing defensive football all the time, playing one up front in home matches even against other poor teams, we do not like watcching our team playing with only half the team putting any effort into their game, and we certainly do not want to see our team bottom of League 2, with no signs of any changes to alter things, and like today with our first and only shot on target being our goal. Our past seven matches have been six losses and a draw, in those seven games we have scored FOUR GOALS and conseeded TWENTY TWO GOALS (13 IN OUR LAST THREE MATCHES).

So don’t quote bloody budgets to me, Accrington are on a less budget than us, and are half way up League 1, and have lived on 2,000 gates for years, you make people sick UTI99 sticking up for our management and blame the fans for the club plight.

What I was trying to say was that even though it was rough towards the end of Wharton’s tenure. The club even though struggling still had that connection for the most part with the fans.

This club has always been fairly tight knit with the community…we’ll that’s what it felt like anyway, as there was always that familiarity and bond there.

Not there now though, is it ?

Look, I said bad words towards Wharton and I deeply regret it. One of my biggest regrets as a fan of this club because now what have we got ?
