OK this is going to hurt
Watson 5 left exposed but dropped a ball first half he should only have punched.
Millen 3 The 3 marks is for two decent passes first half. The lack of any other marks because he had one of the worst debuts in a Scunny Shirt
Rowe 4 at fault for at least 1 goal and gave the ball away which should’ve led to them scoring. How Jay had that much space with a 5 man defence is beyond me
Davis 5 Part of the defence which went missing
Taft 5 as above
Thompson 6 best player but again went missing for second goal
Bunn 5 ineffective
Hackney 3 on this performance needs to book a ticket back to Riverside
Wood 5 some decent touches but part of midfield that allowed Exeter to walk through at ease
Perry 4 what was his role? I don’t think he knew at all. Just shows how inept the management is to try and get him to track Jay but that is not his game
Scrimshaw 4 Not his fault but no contribution. First half counted 8 long balls in the air up to him?? ineffective
Beestin 6 – did well when he came on (apart from passing ball out)
ONeil 3 Looked utter dross without a clue
Cox and Lillis – not up to the job
If I heard correctly we spent all week trying to counter Jay’s impact and then he performa like that we clearly do not have the right players in.
1 goal from open play in 21? 1 win in 17? Swann’s apartments will be taking off very soon. Was he even there today?

September 12, 2021 at 1:11 am #213552I cannot give rating marks because I did not attend again, and have no intention of going until there has been a management clearout.
Presently I have not missed attending matches, and not missed being in the Prediction League, I thought I would have missed both, but really pleased to just listen or probably watch on IFollower although it is very bad value for my £10. I wonder if Cox was missing today because he cannot bare to watch any more of the shite being served up.
September 12, 2021 at 11:11 am #213577Watson – 5 – Made a couple of decent saves at 0-0.
Thompson – 6 – One of the very few who didn’t give up, constantly up and down the wing.
Taft – 4 – Doesn’t look as commanding as last season before his injury.
Davies – 3 – Awful.
Rowe – 3 – Never in the right place, put in a great tackle 1st half.
Millen – 2 – Please don’t play again.Perry – 4 – Ineffective.
Wood – 4 – Ineffective.
Hackney – 4 – Ineffective.Bunn – 6 – Good on the ball but no-one to pass to, or no-one getting on the end of his crosses. Not his fault.
Scrimshaw – 5 – Ran around all game but miss-hit his only 2 chances.Dreadful.
September 12, 2021 at 12:45 pm #213582Harsh on Millen…he looked absolutely shattered around the 25 minute mark. I could even tell he was on his last legs from so early on.
I suspect he’ll be a lot better with more game time. Millen should never have started, but he didn’t pick himself, did he ?
I don’t care what Cox says, Rowe isn’t a CB.
Bunn and Scrimshaw you can’t really count because they were totally isolated having to deal with Torpey-esque high balls.
Perry was playing in completely the wrong role as a defensive midfielder tracking Jay. How the hell is he supposed to be expected to play well in that role ?
Wood and Hackney were both crap though. Again should never have both played as Beestin should have started to help anchor the midfield, he should be a pick no matter what.
Taft and Davis looked shaky.
Thompson did well.
Watson was solid enough.
If you honestly go though all the poor performances, most of it is down to complete mismanagement.

September 12, 2021 at 12:50 pm #213583TAXI for Cox.
No, make it a minibus to take the rest of the poor management team away.Hopefully Fast Cabs are booked for 9am tomorrow.

September 12, 2021 at 1:02 pm #213584So a player who has been out injured, rehabbed and after 11 weeks starts at RB when we have a RB who gets played at CB sums it all up with the crackpot targeting and formations by Mr Cox.

September 12, 2021 at 3:32 pm #213588The tragedy is – this was nowhere near our best team.
Manny back as CB, Rowe to RB (please!), drop Hackney (if at all possible), Beestin AND Perry (I know – not ideal).
Those changes would make a huge difference. This stinks of mismanagement. The team structure was destroyed and genuine attempts must be made to restore it to the previous dizzy heights of adequacy.
Yesterday was like having only eight or nine men on the pitch. Little wonder so many players ended up with shocking marks.
BTW – great use of the marking system, Samways. That’s how it should be. Really captured the essence of what happened. (Not his fault but I could not have given Millen as high as a 3.)

September 12, 2021 at 4:52 pm #213589When you set up like the away team in a home game and play a 5ft 8 in striker on his own upfront and our most liable goal scorer on the bench because you have been doing your homework on a certain player you can understand why we have only scored 4 goals.
At home it should have been Exeter doing there homework on us, I bet they never bothered.
September 12, 2021 at 7:46 pm #213592Clubs don’t need to do homework on us.
“Defensive even when in front.
WILL concede under pressure in the last fifteen.”Same as it ever was.
