August 8, 2022 at 9:15 pm #242361Part time team. Most ex league clubs struggle there. Will be a much harder game than Saturday.

August 8, 2022 at 9:18 pm #242362Bloody heck. Let’s not get like the self-declared Man Utd of the conference (a.k.a Grimsby Town) were when they first got relegated. We are down here because we deserve to be and our name means little. We aren’t bound to stroll the league.

BOOOOO. Also a week for the players to further improve. Yes, I’m in an ultra positive mindset with everything Iron at the minute. Let’s not tempt fate with players picking up injuries.
Our squads depth’s shite at the minute in certain positions.

August 8, 2022 at 10:07 pm #242371It was a great start but we need more players to sustain it, more importantly we need new owners and the old one gone ASAP, nowt long term will change until SWANN IS GONE.

August 9, 2022 at 7:49 am #242377Yes a real banana akin awaits on Saturday. And we’ll probably be up against the ref too, as Chesterfield were last Saturday. Maidenhead will be well up for it too.

I think all the teams are Full Time, Altrincham were the only team last season and they are Full Time this season.

August 9, 2022 at 9:32 am #242380I did think both Maidenhead and Dorking were part time, Mick, but your information might just be more up to date.
August 9, 2022 at 10:40 am #242381I know it is confusing where you see some clubs are semi pro, so I could be wrong, but read a article a few weeks back about Altrincham going full time and being the last club to do so, but if you look at the internet it says Maidenhead are semi so god knows

August 9, 2022 at 11:39 am #242382Grimsby won their first non-league game, an away win at Crawley who were one of the favourites.
Then the entrance to hell opened. Never take it for granted, the National League is a Frankensteins monster of a division.1 user thanked author for this post.
August 9, 2022 at 2:00 pm #242383I went through Misterton last week mick, I never realised it was in Nottinghamshire!

August 9, 2022 at 2:40 pm #242386there is only Google Maps that thinks it’s in North Lincolnshire, furthest most village in Nottinghamshire.

August 9, 2022 at 6:38 pm #242399Halifax are semi professional.
August 9, 2022 at 8:54 pm #242404Halifax are full time pros Awaywego, I have just asked the Vice Chairman of their Supporters Club who I know and lives in Misterton.

August 9, 2022 at 9:03 pm #242405According to Phil the assistant chairman of Halifax Town SC most teams are full time but some clubs he calls hybrid, so I presume it means a mixture of full time and semi pros.
So maybe the reason on the report of Altrincham going full time from semi pro.1 user thanked author for this post.
August 9, 2022 at 10:54 pm #242407Not far from me Mick. I lived in Blyth for 6 years and now in Tickhill

not far away, I was born in Worksop and our Marylin lives in Carlton in Lindrick, 6 miles, and I have a Aunt who isn’t much older than me lives in Bircotes which is only a couple of miles from Tickhill
August 10, 2022 at 4:32 pm #242425Very nearly took the Bluebell inn, Carlton in lindrick a few weeks ago. We have The Royal Oak in Tickhill and had The White Swan in Blyth until a couple of months ago if you know any of them.
August 10, 2022 at 5:59 pm #242428I might have been in the pub in Blyth, don’t think I have been to pubs in Carlton or Tickhill but if I did its a long while ago.
August 10, 2022 at 9:33 pm #242444and had The White Swan in Blyth until a couple of months ago.
So you got rid of the Swan? Please tell us how you managed it!

August 10, 2022 at 11:38 pm #242451I alienated all the customers, refused to employ proper staff. I no longer run the place but I own the building.

August 13, 2022 at 7:54 am #242559Well, the bookies (who usually have a very good idea) make Maidenhead clear favourites at 6/5, and 15/8 for an away win. Maidenhead will be up for this one for sure, so nothing less than total commitment from us will do.

August 13, 2022 at 11:09 am #242562Maybe the bookies have spotted we have had one away win in the last season and a half.
That was at fellow basket case club Oldham.
