June 22, 2022 at 1:29 pm #239235Can’t go as much as £5000 but would put in £1000 if a serious effort was made to purchase the ground and put in a trust. Ps wouldn’t dare tell Mrs A.

I wouldn’t know how to go about it, and I appreciate that things are tough for a lot of people with the increase in living costs but there may be quite a few fans who would be prepared to put some money in to get rid of Swann.
It may be enough to get one of the consortiums over the line to get control.2 users thanked author for this post.
June 22, 2022 at 7:09 pm #239245I wouldn’t put any money in to get rid of Swann, only the ground, something the fans have never owned but now it’s been split from the football club it would make sense.

I’m sure that there are many other examples?
At lower levels – is this the future?
June 22, 2022 at 11:15 pm #239252Until we know what Swann’s asking price is and what it includes, most of this is conjectural.

June 23, 2022 at 12:41 am #239253I doubt we could shift Swann for less than £11,000,000. That is what he thinks our ground is worth. Shame we can’t rock up with the dough and demand that Glanford Park be returned, and then he can F off!

6 million for a fan backed consortium, 8 million for an outside bidder, reliable source ( not HP ).
June 23, 2022 at 10:00 am #239262Does that include the ground?
June 23, 2022 at 10:14 am #239263£5m to £7m overvaluation if ground is not included.
Only £3m overvalued if ground and all land included. Net of all outstanding debt cleared of course.
The problem is the owner will take some time to realise property and businesses are worth what a buyer is willing to pay. The sellers valuation is immaterial.

June 23, 2022 at 11:35 am #239265Worth pointing out that a bond is an investment – anyone who takes up the offer is investing their money and expecting a return on the investment. I know in the case of AFC Wimbledon they asked people to select a 0% interest rate if they could, helping the club to raise capital, but they were offering returns of something like 7-8% depending on the number of years the money was invested for.
So it’s not necessarily free money for football clubs but it is a potentially useful way to raise capital at better terms than would be offered by a bank.
June 23, 2022 at 4:20 pm #239271Ground included as I was told, not sure about any future flat building but most of us think that’s a joke anyway but you never know the money from the sale may be put into helping fund the famous or infamous flat building project.
