I hope you will do whatever it takes to keep this football club (that means the world to so many of us) in the football league.
In my opinion that’s the very least you can do!!
Personally, I would then like you to sell up and move on.
For me personally, these last few years have been absolutely awful!!!!!
If we sleep walk into relegation like we did a couple of seasons ago I don’t think we’ll ever come back!!
October 18, 2020 at 12:35 am #196019I’m of the same opinion. Swann’s made even more of a balls up. Swann’s probably thought “o, Crewe can play well with youngsters, we’ll go down that route.
What he failed to factor in, is the fact Crewe have the coaching infrastructure and have been taking that approach for decades.
Swannster again has involved himself in the footballing side of things when he’s got no fucking idea what he’s doing. What chairman in their right mind buys the players in “all kids”..appoints a club captain and then signs a rookie manager to babysit ?
The guy is a walking disaster. What made me laugh was, cox said Swann was trying up until deadline day to sign experienced players but couldn’t afford the outlay. This is why chairmen shouldn’t get involved in anything other than signing off on deals when they have absolutely no clue about the football side of things.
When they do, crap like this happens. It appears he’s realised his little plan of going with kids hasn’t worked even this early on.
This is why chairman should sign a manager and let them do their job. Honestly, he’ll never learn. Swann’s meddling will be the death of us.
Now we have to hope we sign some good experienced pro’s to see they can save us.
Fingers crossed we stay up this season and then Swann can move on. I suppose he’s had a good crack at it but he’s the one who’s responsible for this shambles. Enough’s enough now, he needs to move on…he’s killing the club.
October 18, 2020 at 4:20 am #196023I don’t think Burny Crewe threw 9 players in at the start of a season without any league experience in one go, they were about 50/50 of youth and experience until those young players were good enough and some older players faded out, our experienced players have been injured and are still out and only one of them has played a couple of games, and of those two experienced one is the goalkeeper who has had one really good game in over 50 so not brilliant, this season is a disaster and you can’t see us win another game, it was certainly better for your mental health when there was no football for six months and to be honest I don’t look forwards to match days anymore and it still wouldn’t surprise me if eventually the club is folded and the ground knocked down for redevelopment.

May well have if he hadn’t wasted money on inexperienced midfielders and non-scoring forwards.
Then there was the saving on Colclough’s wages.
A pair of Levi’s 501s last longer than £16 jeans from f&f at Tesco!
Mind you, the fashion is for denims with lots of holes in. Rather like our defence!
October 18, 2020 at 2:31 pm #196063Swann thinks being rich gives him an ability to run a football club like a vanity project. The fans will be picking up the pieces once he’s finished playing football manager.
I struggle to comprehend the thought process the Swann family went through thinking they knew what players to buy and that they would make a profit selling them on. just crazy! If any of these Swann signings are on more than £300/week they’re stealing a living
October 18, 2020 at 3:18 pm #196073Don’t think Brown and Kev would be here on less than 300 ,
October 18, 2020 at 4:00 pm #196084Ironawe, what makes it all the more laughable is Charlie Goode, the only player to be sold for a sizeable fee, we let go and let somebody else profited lol
October 18, 2020 at 4:03 pm #196085Awaywego – should’ve qualified, the latest batch of signings – the ones where we had no footballing scout, set up or manager in place.
October 18, 2020 at 5:27 pm #196094But then again a lot wanted Turnbull out, and Swanny fulfilled their wishes. From what i have seen swanny seems to do the right thing on what a lot of what people want(not me) maybe just not fast enough for their liking.
October 18, 2020 at 7:11 pm #196102How much they paying you awaywego ?
October 19, 2020 at 12:08 am #196111I don’t think Mr Swann makes any decisions based on what people say on here or social media awaywego

Signing a load of players off your own back and appointing a perma crock as your club captain is plenty enough. That’s already way too much involvement for any chairman.
October 19, 2020 at 8:28 am #196118Not many fans wanted a family run transfer committee with no footballing knowledge. I was ambivalent about Turnbull but those who wanted him out would assume, like with managers, to be replaced with suitably qualified and experienced person
October 19, 2020 at 12:56 pm #196144I do it all for free WG. just like to keep the site balanced. My post was an observation Deerey but still factual, i hope Swanny doesnt take any notice of what posters say on this site unless they are libeling him.
October 19, 2020 at 2:23 pm #196147Narcissists don’t take notice of anyone, the orange faced freak across the pond being the perfect example.
October 19, 2020 at 2:47 pm #196148I’m glad you cleared that up awaywego
October 19, 2020 at 4:12 pm #196158Swanny doesnt take any notice of what posters say on this site
So, he signs a team full kids with no experience around them…signs a rookie manager and then resigns a permacrock and makes him captain. Throw into the mix we have one of the most unbalanced squads in Scunthorpe United history and you think people are unfair in having their say ?
Are you real ?. This is solely down to swannster playing real life football manager with the club. If Swann fancies himself as a manager/play recruiter then he needs to pack up all his businesses, horses e.t.c and take the qualifications/courses and try and become one.
I’d rather he not play the role while he’s here and feck everything up in the process.
What Swan has done is absolutely ludicrous.
October 19, 2020 at 6:23 pm #196163In all Ernest he would Pawn the club at the drop of an hat.
October 19, 2020 at 7:32 pm #196170Spot on, WG.
October 19, 2020 at 7:47 pm #196172Someone takes notice. Or is it a coincidence we’ve just signed Junior Brown after waiting three months.

September 21, 2023 at 7:14 pm #273051Didn’t someone libel him before.
